  5. Man, it’s only 1U, one, uno, 1U..
  6. Skinner (Sean) was over trying the Zooooom B6 2 weeks ago and tried this head, it’s sounds the BeesKnees. Drop him a pm he’ll tell you!
  7. This is a reluctant, but necessary sale. I bought this direct from Alan McGregor just before lockdown, never been gigged, rehearsed with twice, I paid list of £425.00 and clothed it in a ‘ Medium Robust case’ which cost me £46.50. I’m asking £375.00 for this absolute Gem of a bass head, be assured if my mobility was up to scratch this would be staying. It sounds sublime through the GR’s and other cabs I owned before my downsizing started. Alan’s pedigree in electronics goes back to the late 60’s in Liverpool with Sound systems, later disco equipment and on toBass Amplifiers and sounder inforcement. What attracted me is the 1U height and this is the second I have owned, the first being the Bassmate Combo a tidy little beast a few years before this. Moved on because of the physical weight. This tips the scales at 12Kg. Read the blurb: Bassmate Series - Bass Amplifiers (Alan’s blurb from the Website) The McGregor range of bass amplification provides all the features required to express your talent. We don’t offer a new lifestyle or a new image with our products, simply a product designed for a long and trouble free life. The tonal qualities, input options and extended headroom distinguish these amplifiers as exceptional products and the speakers simply mimic your chosen sound with effortless precision. The Bassmate Amplifier is ideal for musicians looking for a compact and powerful amplifier solution and has a rear mounted line input and level control for those that want to practice to a backing track or simply expand the system. These amplifiers are suitable for double bass, bass guitar, acoustic guitar even violins as they feature a balanced XLR microphone input with switchable phantom power as well as a conventional high impedance instrument input. Active, Retro and deep push switch selection is standard on all models. The MOSFET CLASS AB, amplifier with active clip limiter and proportional speed fan ensures a high quality clean sound is delivered to the speaker system at all times. Features: Passive input (1 Meg ohm) via the 6.3mm jack socket Active input (10K ohm) is push switch selected and has an LED status indicator The retro button is for that old style sound! Mic / Pickup input via the XLR socket with a switchable phantom supply and LED status indicator Comprehensive four band EQ centred on carefully selected frequencies LF Filter variable between 50-150Hz @ 18dB / Octave Parametric EQ, 245Hz-4K5Hz +8 to -12dB (Footswitch or front panel switchable with LED status indicator) Input Gain and Master Volume control with convenient mute push switch with LED status indicator Peak Programme Indicator LED shows onset of overdrive distortion FX send and return loop on the rear panel (uses 6.3mm jack for in /out) Tuner output on the rear panel (uses 6.3mm jack) DI output is via a balanced line XLR socket mounted on front panel Class AB mosfet amplifier with proportional speed fan and active clip limiter ensure stress free sound quality at all times Specifications Power Output (RMS) @ 1kHz Bassmate 650 - 650 watts RMS into 4 ohms 70% into 8 ohms Microphone inputs: Balanced or unbalanced 3k3 - 5mV Line level inputs: Unbalanced >22k - 200mV Line output: Unbalanced <10k - 775mV (0dB) Headroom: +22dB (PPI’s active @ +19dB) Low EQ: +/- 12dB @ 50Hz Low Mid EQ: +/- 10dB @ 360Hz High Mid EQ: +/- 10dB @ 1K8Hz High EQ: +/- 14dB @ 10kHz Frequency response: 20Hz – 25kHz +/-0.5dB D/C Protection: +/-32V Signal to noise ratio: Better than 100dB Clip Limiter: Active clip limiting (Internal variable threshold) T.H.D. @ 1kHz rated power – <0.02% Damping Factor: Better than 400 Slew Rate: 40V / uS Mains Input Power: 230V +/-10% 50-60Hz Options, Dimensions & Weights Bassmate 650 - 650 Watts RMS into 4 ohms Width: 400MM Depth: 260MM Height: 43MM Weight: 12KG Some Snaps I’m looking for an outright sale, this is available for any trial here in Leicester. It’s heavy and that’s the only reason I want to sell, tones to die for, at a fraction of the cost of the more boutique and esoteric heads and only 1U Thanks for looking Pssst: Possible trade for PJB C4 “Lite” Silver Cone type
  8. Angry cat response, still here.
  9. Do you still want one?
  10. Whoa, stop the bus! I’m letting G.A.S. get the better of my judgement here. I was downsizing from 35” scale to 34” in the belief it would alleviate the lack of mobility in my left arm! Kaspische? What a load of old madam, I used the Sandberg 35” today for two hours going through tunes, very little effect. So guys I’m keeping this 35” scale unlined fretless and putting a Delano Sonar 2 Pre in it…. Job done
  11. Guy’s, any trial, you will be amazed at the quality of construction of this “ One Off” bass. I was noodling with it the other day and it’s great, I’m downsizing moving to 34” scale. There absolutely no movement in the joints at all, it’s all solid.
  12. I have one and used it with good success on bass, as you can hear in the sample. Great value for money.
  13. You can PM me with offers, I’ll take a Warwick Gnome in PX, or something of that ilk.
  14. There’s info online that suggests they will run into 2 Ohms.
  15. As the man said, a good fist made out of a pigs ear. Well done. Replace Delusional you got a band, simples 🤷‍♂️
  16. “Doh!” A recent purchase from John (lownote) nothing wrong with the Head an impulse buy that is overkill for the foreseeable future (which might be non existent). It does the job in spades but it’s way over the top in power and tonal functionality (I have a Zoom B6 for the tones) so sadly I must realise the error of my ways and offer this monster back up into the community. I paid £360.00 and would like that back as postage (U.K. Mainland) will be included in the price reducing what I paid. Works a treat, slight surface marks on the top, I’ve tried to show them, commensurate with light use. Nothing that can interfere with its workings. Comes with a leather type laptop bag (perfect fit) for protection. Yes it’s a quick turnaround, but it is over the top, less tone options and less power would fit the bill. Only trades would be something like an EICH/TecAmp 500 depending and maybe (age dependant) cash your way. Otherwise sensible cash/PayPal (friends and family) offers PM Me. Thanks for looking. Specs and price courtesy Ashdowm WWW and snaps below: “RM-800-EVO II HEAD £699.00 For those playing larger stages seeking huge headroom, Ashdown tone and reliability without the weight the RM-800 EVO II is the solution. Weighing in at just 2.6KG(5.5lbs) but boasting 800 watts of power, class leading quality and features. The Rootmaster EVO II range also now comes equipped with an on-board headphone preamp to allow for silent practice, which doubles up these gig-ready amplifiers as handy practice devices. The pre amp includes a passive and active input jack socket for use with high and low output instruments, this sets a clear signal path to the input control enabling you to fine tune your input level using the trademark Ashdown VU meter. With the signal at its optimal level, you then hit the rich features designed enhance your tone, such as the shape button, 5-band EQ and on-board compressor. The drive control, as always delivers a delectable valve emulated over-drive, whilst the sub harmonic controls add further fatness to your tone - both can be foot-switched via an FS 2 foot-switch (sold separately). The Rootmaster 800 EVO II Head features a distinctive clear anodised alloy housing & chassis, an all new black anodised front panel and is the perfect choice for those who crave huge headroom in an ultra lightweight and portable package.” SPECIFICATION Power Output - 800 Watts Power Requirements - 115-230 Volts Speaker Outputs - 2 x Neutrik Speakon/Jack outputs Frequency Response - -3dB @ 17Hz und 30KHz High Instrument Input - Impedance 3.9m Ohms, input range 150mV Low Instrument Input - Impedance 10k Ohms, input range 300mV - 405V p-p Line Input - Impedance 22k Ohms, input level 0dBu nominal DI Output - 600 Ohm balanced, Level 0dBu nominal Tuner Output - Impedance 22k Ohms, Level 0dBu nominal Impedance - Minimum 4 Ohms Signal to noise- Better than 80dB (EQ flat) EQ - Bass +/-15dB @ 100Hz, Lo Mid +/-15dB @ 220Hz, Middle +/-15dB @ 660Hz, Hi Mid +/-15dB @ 1.6kHz, Treble +/-15dB @ 7kHz shelving Deep + Effects Send - Impedance 22k Ohm, Level 0dBu nominal Effects Return - Impedance 22k Ohms, Input Level 0dBu Nominal Distortion - Less than 0.5% THD H x W x D (mm) - 89 x 311 x 235 Weight (kg) - 2.5 Full monty here: https://ashdownmusic.com/products/rm-800-evo-ii-head Snaps: Slight marks. 17. Well done that man, phew! I echo the sentiment of others, music and lunchtime legends don’t mix.
  18. I have read this thread and find it very informative having just acquired petexas’s B6. I was playing with it tonight and I am intoxicated with its flexibility and, on the face of it, ease of use. What a tone machine this is, I’m not sure my competence will allow me to utilise it’s full potential without a night school crash course. I’ve just touched the surface of a very deep pool and I’m looking at Oxygen purchase. I’ve gleaned more from this thread than the online information available. I just need to put the sounds in order of a ‘set list’. Phew, I’m excited🤭 Stop Press. I was faffing with this little gem earlier today and found some excellent patches they sound immense. It struck me, it’s a tone machine, all I need to do is adjust the volume on patches and put them in an order I can use live (whenever that may be).

  20. Whoa, greedy, yes always fancied them, I’ve used 3 x C4’s with the Magellan 800…..bowel movement inducing.
  21. Guy’s a flyweight powerhouse, delivered to you (UK Mainland) in the price. As mentioned a small combo would suffice as a part chop. Thanks for looking Did I mention that this will run 3 x 8 Ohm cabs, it runs into 2.67 Ohms. What’s not to like, imaging the GR and 3 x PJB compact 4’s wafting your kecks off…..
  22. This bass as good if not better than the Tanglewood 6ixer that I sold here months ago. Smooth neck, easy playability, it’s gorgeous in its entirety. The only addition that would improve it would be a Pre with additional tone controls. Apart from that….
