Love my TIs on the Corvette 4 - glad it's not only me having to loosen the truss rod and also raise the saddles to avoid buzzing. (No, I don't dig very hard, it really is because of their low tension, which I love.)
I'm also intrigued to hear that the their low B sounds so good. I bought my TIs as a set of 5, but couldn't put them on either of my 5ers because the low B is too thick for my old-style Warwick bridges, and I'm left with a new low B waiting to be used sooner or later. I'm now gassing even more strongly for a new-style Warwick-not-Rockbass Corvette 5 to try it on

So have they changed the tailpiece on the newer Warwicks? That used to do my head in on the jazzman 5 I had...
I played through one at a practice studio a couple of years back. It was the worst sounding amp I've ever come across. Strange, because I used to have the original Bass Pod, which was great!
Lovely Fender jazz pups, taken from my Geddy jazz bass.
Vintage spec and bevelled pole pieces mean no rough edges! I don't have the copper grounding plates any more, as I shielded the whole bass with copper foil.
Looking for £45 including UK delivery.
I'll get some pics up in a couple of days.

I've not found they need a high action - you might need to tweak the truss rod though if coming from a higher tension set.

Yeah I found I had to slacken the rod quite a bit, but the action is lower than when I had rounds on the bass!

Actually it is ash. Finished in French Violet which is now quite a light purple if you buy it but back then was this darker tone. In the right light she is very purple.

Sounds lovely!
Yeah I can see how they'd divide opinion. I love the low tension, it's like nothing I've ever tried before; they're just so playable! However, I imagine the low tension could be a problem for those who like to dig in, for example.
I've tried Chromes, Picatos, Rotos and La Bella, but couldn't get on with them. The Rotos tension is just plain ridiculous, Picatos felt 'sticky', La Bellas were too dark and thumpy, and Chromes were a bit too bright. The TIs are in another league, IMO.
Put a set of these on my jazz bass last night, and all I can say is wow. Fantastic sound, feel and unbelievable low tension.
I really think I've found THE string for me!
The first version of the J-Retro (without the screw terminals). When I got this the battery connector had been pulled off the circuit board, and the battery terminal was a mess. So I soldered on a new battery connector and (in the absence of heatshrink) covered the connections with a little bit of insulation tape. I've had this in my bass for a couple of months and it all works fine and dandy. I'm selling as I'm a passive-bass-man at heart, preamps just aren't for me! The preamp is boxed with instructions.
I'm looking or £90 delivered in the UK. PayPal gift or bank transfer.

That is one sexy jazz bass!
Just putting a feeler out for a trade deal on the neck from my Geddy Lee jazz (maple with black blocks and binding, and oh-so slim). It's one of the older, Japanese made instruments, and is in good condition. Tuners and string tree wouldn't be included.
I'm looking for a lined fretless jazz neck, which will stand up to rounds; either an ebony fingerboard, status carbon neck or WHY?
Trade-value wise, I'd say the Geddy neck is worth around £220.
