That’s the road between Leicester and Loughborough.
Well at least it's a major road.

Counter their scribble with Psalm 33:1-3....
I just Googled that number to make sure you hadn't made it up - so serendipitous!

So our first rehearsal for a while last night at our usual spot. We use a village church and have done for years at reasonable rates with our fees being welcomed to the up keep of the building. After we finished our drummer had this on his car which I am temped to add to our posters and possibly a t-shirt. I also think "The Gospel of Salvation" could be a great future band name!
Shouldn't this have been posted in the Playing in Church thread 😎

There's nothing in the passages indicated referring to music at all, still less 'abomination'. There's no sense to it.
Try Psalm 95 : 1-2..?
I was wondering which rock bands King James was listening to back then.

Something that survey shows is that US likes music overall more than UK.
My observation on this, having been in record company telesales for 4 years in the early 80s, is that the UK's music tastes were highly polarised back then. Dance music was king all across the home counties, and across the south in general. From Luton upwards we couldn't sell dance music for love nor money except in a few larger cities. Even then there was a split in BPM, with northern cities preferring up tempo tracks, and south going for slower stuff. Midlands and North East was great for selling all types of rock.

Congrats on the review, but where can we hear this funky liquid?

@Baloney BalderdashPiccolo means small so you're OK on that one not being an oxymoron. Had you said soprano then the grammar police would certainly have you bang to rights.

I heard some clips of one of the Premiums with Nordstrand Big Singles in. Sounded so good I really wanted one, but I don't like open pore necks.

Obviously there have to be sacrifices - relationships seem to take a beating.
I have a very good friend who I only see once in about every three years due to his incredibly busy schedule. He has three very high level jobs as a pro drummer and MD. One get together was near to Christmas, and when we talked about what we were doing there was some genuine sadness and regret that he doesn't have his own family. His level of touring just wasn't compatible with a steady relationship.

Have you checked the tutor section in the Basschat Marketplace?

Clothing fashion seems to have hijacked the word.
My daughters talk about their ‘vintage’ outfits. When I was their age I called them Jumble Sale.
Whatever happened to the jumble sale? They don't seem to exist anymore. Then again, there wasn't the proliferation of charity shops and car boot sales when the jumble sale ruled the second hand world.

In the world of auctions, antiques etc, 20 years.
I'm looking forward to someone listing a Danelectro as Mid-Century Modern 😎

OK, bit of a convoluted title, but watched the Bradley Cooper/Lady GaGa film the other night. Although not the greatest performance (but pretty good for an actor), I did like the style of music that Bradley Cooper was playing - a sort of heavy Country tinged Rock/Blues.
I thought of Chris Stapleton - but that's too Country. The nearest I have found is a bit older, and not as heavy in Delbert Mc Clinton.
Can anyone recommend anything similar - riff based, but with a bit more structure and more interesting songwriting than most of the Blues/Rock that I know. Thanks.

Much like Thomann with Harley Benton, I can't imagine that Guitar Guitar will want to tarnish their reputation with a shoddy budget line, so I think it will be a good buy. Let us all know once you have given it the once over.

Whatever music (or Match) which the pub were playing until 5 mins (or so) after we started
Now that has spurred a good idea - Match of the Day Theme. May well get the attention of the football punters!

I think they had to move to appointment only after a fairly substantial theft 😟
What's their bass stock like now - they always had a great reputation for guitars, but limited stock for us low enders?

Great story, great bass. And five string fretless at 11, I'm seriously impressed.

Appears to be a GB54 or GB34 with the scratchplate removed and replaced with just a control plate. The pickup configuration looks stock and was very common on the GB.
Edit: to clarify, there have been many updates to the GB series through the years where the appearance of the model changed considerably. This includes body shape, features and pickup configurations. The current GB series looks more Fender-like and has the controls mounted directly to the body instead of a pickguard. The one in this thread is an older model. Some versions of the GB54 had black hardware, so this could also be a GB34. Definitely older GB series though.
Just opened the picture - when I first replied it looked like a soapbar in the J position. I can now see it is a J sitting in a route. So yes, going with the above, an early 00 GB series. Decent bass.

Cort make many basses that never make it to their official list, however, this combo of pickups and control plate does look unusual. As @Baloney Balderdashsays, they make great basses. They also offer great value as they don't hold their prices, so could be a great, inexpensive bass to have some fun with.
God forbid...it's a question about guitar chords....
