Just listening to an amazing old Quincy Jones vinyl compilation - this is a super funky ballad, but then hey, what would you expect with Cuck Rainey and Harvey Mason as your rhythm section?

Lovely to see Burning Spear at Glastonbury. I dread to think how long ago it was I last saw him live, anyway 👏
The track they played on 6 Music sounded great. Couldn't find it on iPlayer 😟

I am listening to the album Inner Urge by Joe Henderson.
Doing an album a week as part of my education.
It's pretty cool.
There's a really nice late recording, Joe Henderson Big Band from 1996 that I like.

Point of order, not all COPD is self inflicted.

Duke Ellington "In the 60s". Was my introduction to the great man, and is still a fabulous listen. All the big tunes, great quality recording and the old boys were still very much on their collective game.

Gabe @Microwave420 just bought my G&L Kiloton. Brand new member, joined the site to buy this bass, and was in Indonesia when he contacted me. Naturally I was a tiny bit suspicious, but Gabe's communication was great, and we met up halfway to make the deal. Totally genuine and a nice guy to boot. Sell with confidence if he contacts you 👍

Mel who ran a cassette manufacturer that I used to use was the cellist in ELO.

Sorry, can any of our drummers on here explain the difficulty as I have never encountered a drummer who has thought this was a problem?

As far as I know this would be one of the original versions before it was remixed in around 91 I think, it’s a lot slower and you can hear the basssline , it’s on the album Songs Of Freedom Rarities , is this the one you heard myke?
That's much better. Yes, the posthumous hit hardly sounds like a reggae track. Thanks Tony 👍

Is there an original version of Marley's Iron Lion Zion without all the posthumous production and overdubs? Heard it on the radio today and was amazed by how awful I thought it sounded. Would love to hear Bob's original if it exists.

I've got to pull some fence posts and large planks of wood from the canal in Tipton tomorrow - any bids from our budding luthiers?

Not really playing 4 stringers these days but I'd be tempted to buy this backif i was. Excellent bass.
Yes, much as I've tried, my left hand always wants to be on a fiver.

Had this in a trade two years ago, and fabulous as it is, the poor thing hasn't been played, as no matter how many times I think I need another bass I ALWAYS go back to my Shuker, so this has been noodled on a couple of times and then just remained in a case.
I believe the see through cherry over mahogany was a limited run, and it looks really great. Previous owner, @BaggyMan has meticulously added a vinyl carbon fibre look wrap over the tort pickguard. I think it looks right on this bass but will easily peel off.
There are a couple of tiny nobbles on the headstock, and a couple of faint surface scratches on the back - the one highlighting this was taken with a macro lens.
Strung with barely played DR Hi-Beams for extra sparkle - my plan was to have something the complete opposite to my main 5 string, flatwound fretless.
Collection from Stourbridge, or could meet up in West Midlands. Don't want to courier as I don't have a spare hard case.

If you get one stick a brass nut on it.
Just in case Sting wants to relive his youth with it
Actually, I've always fancied a white one, as the ones I had were very comfy and sounded good, but I there was only red and black
Only on here could 34 be considered youth 😎

Thought I’d drop this one today as Max Romeo has passed, probably one of my favourites from him
That's a great song to remember him by. Much better tribute than his biggest hit.

Loved them on my fretless 5 string precision but the low B went dead before the rest of the set. Gone for Chromes to get just a little more sparkle that can always be rolled off.
Tension was fine, really didn't find the hard work.

Sorry, going to have to add another. Rainey's playing on this one is sublime!
