    I've just re-weighed the bass and I think it's more like 7.25lbs (ie 7lbs 4oz) rather than 7.1lbs I originally thought. I've edited the title to reflect this. Also for full disclosure, the strap pin at the neck end is no longer entirely tight. It's perfectly usable, but long term solved with a marginally wider screw or a drop of wood glue.
