  1. Do you mean Martin Turner? Ted was one of the guitarists. EDIT: Sorry, that sounds very pedantic! Wasn't meant to be.
  2. I can play my socks off, in fact the band can play their socks off, but if the audience aren't up and dancing it's a bust for me.
  3. This just feels like it should be in the for sale section 🤔
  4. Here's the latest iteration of my pedalboard. Much simpler than my previous one as I decided to just build presets in the MS-3. The only exception to that is the Wampler mini, as I didn't want to sacrifice one of the four effects in the Boss on a compressor. I've also added the Bright Onions DFM2 to facilitate easy switching. I've kept my trusty Providence Dual Bass Station (powered by the Gigrig 12V adapter underneath) as I always take and play two basses to each gig. I went for a Rockboard Tres 3.0 so I could add the Mod 2 patch bay, which allows for the basses to be plugged into A and B and then sent to the amp via D. The USB allows me to charge the Rockboard power supply fitted to the tray underneath. All neat and tidy
  5. Playing a five clicked in my head back in 1989, and I have played them pretty much exclusively ever since. They are my goldilocks "just right" bass.
  6. eBay's the same. Must be a new requirement since the law came in, as I've had a Reverb account for a few years and not had to add a VAT number.
  7. My line for "Love Shack" is way groovier than the original, even though for many years I thought my line was the original! 🤣 I also cannot emulate the sloppy playing on "Maggie May".
  8. These are superb amps. I've used mine for a few years now and it never ceases to amaze me: it's just impossible to get a bad tone out of it! Highly recommended, and a keen price too for a hand made American amp.
  9. Great cab (rarer vertical version too), and great seller.
  10. I was playing at a wedding in Middlesborough many years ago when who should join us on stage but ex-Whitesnake slide guitarist extraordinaire Micky Moody. Despite being a disco tribute act, we charged through a more than decent version of "Fool for your Loving" with him, followed by a lengthy blues jam. Tremendous fun, and he was a lovely guy too. Bruce Foxton bought my band a round when we were playing at a pub in Guildford one time. He sat and chatted with us for the whole of the mid-gig break: also a lovely guy.
  11. Unfortunately, unlined fretless in a mass produced bass is pretty rare.
  12. Oh no, I am stunned and saddened to hear this. I'd been planning to drop in and see him next time I was in Monmouth visiting relatives. Such sad news.
  13. These are great basses! I had a six for a while, then realised sixes and I do not get on, so I sold it on. That said, I added another strap button to the other side of the bridge and it sorted the angled body perfectly, so I'd highly recommend that. Also bought some larger luminous dots off Amazon to deal with the visibility issue, which also worked really well. Yours looks lovely.
  14. Yep, I can and do make my own cables. The only reason I asked is because this patchbay has a USB though, which means I can use this to charge the power bank without detaching it from underneath the board. The 1/4" jacks were just a bonus and it made sense to use them for my input and outputs. If they work then all good, but if not I can just bypass them.
