  1. Other than back line and basses, I always pack the following: A torch A towel Mic stand drink holder Coloured leads (not black) Deodorant Stage clothes Pre/Post gig clothes (including comfy shoes) Sharpie A4 pad Batteries Fluorescent stickers amongst a few other things
  2. It’s not a documentary, he would have been directed, I would image. I find it hard to believe he would have found any of the songs difficult either. I found it laughable the way the MD was thanking him for practicing and getting the parts right. Anyhoo it’s just silly TV, not worth getting het up about.
  3. Ever practical, thinking ahead, all about the timing. Bass player.
  4. Spoiler alert…but best line yet ”as long as I can have a wee within next 20 minutes, I’ll have beer now”😂😂
  5. Maybe it’s a term describing how one used to be an “Udos” I know I can still be a proper Udos at times.
  6. Exudos? What’s that?
  7. My brother and I always pronounce Takamine as an Italian offering their guitar to you. But then we’re weird and inappropriate like that.
  8. They’re all pronounced ”can’t afford it”
  9. Lovely compact rig that at great price.
  10. My training (and job) is facilitating group work programmes for male perpetrators of violence. So I’m in a room with a group of very angry and potentially dangerous men. I love my job, always feel in control, can hold the rooms attention without issue, and challenge peoples behaviour without any anxiety. Put me on a stage with a bass round my neck, having rehearsed parts to beyond knowing them, and I have no idea what to do with myself, I’m so self conscious I hate it. I love playing with others and often end up MD for bands I play in, so it’s not lacking confidence over my ability to play. But as soon as I think people are looking at me I hate it and just feel awkward and silly. I can’t stand watching videos of gigs or photos as I look like I’m a statue or not wanting to be there. Bizarrely if on the rare occasion I’m fronting a band singing, I’m ok. Go figure….weirdo eh?
  11. That’s lush. Thank goodness for the 180 miles between us!
  12. Me and my mate sat in the cinema and watched “Slade in Flame” on repeat. That’s when we decided to form our first band. Happy memories
  13. Gordon Brown as the policeman!? Great casting.
  14. Oh mate, that’s frustrating. Perhaps it’s time to let your “No” be “no”? It’s the only way people learn to respect boundaries. I once sat down with a pastor and his assistant to explain that I wanted to take time out from music in church as I was tired and had a lot going on at home and a responsible job that demanded my time. They we’re very good and sympathetic and supported the decision. 2 weeks later I was approached with “I know you’ve stepped down, but can you do the worship this week?” Along with a pastors wife telling me off for stepping down as I obviously didn’t know the importance of “my calling”. Church can be a wonderful place of joy, support and friendship. But man alive! Boundaries? What are those? Hope you are able to say something to help protect your space, it’s important. Otherwise you’ll become a grumpy old cynic like me 🙄😂
  15. Absolutely!! One of my favourite colour combinations. Looks great and a bargain. Have more than enough P’s (sadly)

  17. Looks an interesting project there Nik! Love that bridge! 😎 Might be interested, although shouldn’t be, but I’m a sucker for projects. But it would have to be posted, so maybe see if someone can get it in person first? What are the issues with the electrics? Hope you’re keeping well? John
  18. Shame Billy Bragg’s Jail Guitar Doors isn’t still going, these would be perfect.
  19. Lovely job Jon!
  20. Have no room for this beast of a cab, so if you can pick it up (literally) it’s yours. Dimensions are H: 68cm D 50 W: 62cm Driver is an SLM 86-013-04 Speaker 15'' 4OHM CAST FRAME used in Ampeg cabs.
  21. Badass ii bridge. Not required as I have a 3D bridge I prefer to use. Working and with Allen key for saddle height adjustment. Weird double notch on D string saddle, but works fine as you can Thanks John
  22. Latest bitsa. G&B Ash body, SD vintage P, 42mm nut width neck. “Finder” decal (all my bitsas have one of those).
  23. Ah was that in Portsmouth or Plymouth somewhere? I was watching it, but had no way of getting to it. Good find for no money and a good cause. 😎👍🏻
  24. Brilliant description of the difference. Should be pinned? Thanks @BigRedX
  25. Need to clear some space!! £70 for this lot. Plus a 1x15 4ohm 250 watt Peavey cab thrown (lol) in for free. Vintage 80s Chushin Gaki Double Eagle El Maya Japan Laminated P Bass Body. Bought as part of a fretless bitsa from young Beedster of this ‘ere den of iniquity. Samick neck, with good quality Machineheads and bridge. Body has got various dings and scratches and there’s a crack in the lacquer by the strap pin, it’s not in the wood itself. Neck is in very good order. Nice little project to finish off with very easy Pickup and harness fitting. Any questions please ask.
