  1. After depping for them last year in the US, Becky has now joined the legendary Danes on a permanent basis. It's fabulous news and I'm totally made up for her -- she actually depped for me in the Destroyers once about a thousand years ago, and since then I've watched her star rising higher and higher, with bands like Hands Off Gretel and Fury. She's a superb, hardworking musician and a tremendous advocate for women in music.

When did "hate" get redefined to "opinion I disagree with"?

No 'hate' though, just the sound of me walking by.

Precisely. I've seen no "hate" here, just differences of opinion. 'Not to my taste' is a million miles from 'hate', and as for "especially on BC", that sound you can hear is me laughing.

  3. I saw a touring Italian Rush trib called 'La Villa Strangiato' last year, they were excellent right up until the guitarist's rig completely went on the fritz. These guys are just as good in every way. If they come to my neck of the woods, I'd definitely go check them out. Hopefully by then the vocalist won't need to crib the lyrics off a tablet. That bass tone is absolutely spot on.

As an aside, my first band at school was called 'Emotional Feedback'. We weren't a Rush trib, we just liked the name. I suspect this bunch are rather better than we were.

    Excellent thread!

    Here's mine...

Queensryche Empire - Jet City Woman, Della Brown, Another Rainy Night

Dan Reed Network - Forgot to Make her Mine, Taming the Wild Nights, I'm so Sorry

Oh good choice, sir. What a superb album. Bass tones to die for.

  5. My band's Farcebook page is being inundated with things like this...

The scammers get a temporary guest account from FB (Guest 4756 in this case); the temp account lasts for 24 hours, then disappears. If you click on the link, they gain access to control your FB account. Not much you can do about it as the guest account, now with access to your account, has gone.

It's happening to loads of bands that we know, apparently it has been relentless this whole weekend. There are some absolute wucking fankers out there.

I wanted the amp on its own which the buyer wont sell separately.

And the reason for that is that he knows he'd have the devil's own job selling that cab. People generally just aren't buying huge heavy cabs any more, not like they used to.

In terms of your actual query, yes, maHOOsive overkill. You can get perfectly good recorded results using amp and cab modelling.

So this was today’s set up, as I still have the pins in my left hand where I severely damaged my thumb. Actually quite fun to try and convert bass fills that are second nature on the bass into something similar on the Moog!!

Get thee to a prog band!
