1. Bump for almost a year trying to sell... Thats harsh...
2. If it was a bit cheaper, I think I'd have that, even though I just spent £300 on the upgraded OLP. Why didnt I spot this before?
3. Only 1 medium black one left? Not much chance of me getting that then.
4. Thats actualy quite sexy considering Im not very keen on that style of bass. Wonder if he would swap a Nikon DSLR for it?
5. Bought an OLP Tony Levin bass. Guitar better than described and well packaged. Im well chuffed! Great guy to deal with.
6. Bloody hell....And the reserve still isnt met!!
7. The Customised OLP Tony Levin I bought from Rayman (Russ) just arrived. Firstly, the colour. On the pictures, it looked quite peachy, and I wasnt sure about it. In the wood however, its much more natural, if not a little custardy. Its probably not to everyones taste, but I have fallen in love with it. Secondly, even before plugging it in, I tuned the strings up as Russ had loosened them off for shipping, and I could tell straight away that the noise it made was miles away from my Dean and Yammy. It sounded so bright. He mentioned it probably could do with new strings, which I shall do, but if it sounds that good unplugged with dead strings, I cant wait to hear it with new ones! Thirdly, the sound!.. This is where the little accident happened. It sounds so good! I hadnt even touched the eq settings and it just sounded perfect. Exactly what I wanted. I cant slap for crap at the moment, but even with my paultry effort it sounded good. Its completely silent when not being played, no hum, no hiss, just silence. The action is low, but minimal fret buzz and the neck is smooth and narrower that the Dean. Im one very happy man and think I may have got a bargain with this one!
8. I have put the word around the drumf forum. Closest I have got is someone did some drumming for another t Rex tribute band that used to play with this lot, but he also got screwed over, so is no longer in contact. Seems to be something about Marc Bolan tribute acts ripping people off!
9. Well posting it here is start, there must be people who have/are gigging with them in the same area. I have posted a topic on a well known drum forum asking if anyone konws him, never know his drummer might even me a member there. I'd post this up on as many music related forums as I could so you have a good chance of finding someone who knows the band or him. It could just be a big misunderstanding, and needs someone to point out to him the mistake, but seems pretty unlikely.
10.
MB1. ....ON HOLD PENDING POSSIBLE TRADE!...
Persitance pays off, well done!
11. Tis very loud! I havent put it past 2 and it almost blew the house up! Now Sold!!
12. Photobucket is being annoying. I have uploaded several photos but only this one is showing at the moment. So here it is, until the others decide to materialise.
13. On Hold to SilentBob pending uploaded photos and payment.
14.
Hi - I want this amp!!! Will pay you asking price - cheque ok? or can pay using paypal. If so will arrange collection by courier I have an account with. Cheers Mike
Sorry, cant really do courier, I work out on the road all day, so would never be able to arrange to get it collected. Needs to be picked up or delivered/met half way by me.
15. I may have jumped the gun when I bought this a few weeks back of a fellow bass chatter. Its a great amp, buy waaaaay to big and loud for what I need. I have the level on 0.5 and its still too loud! So, I'd like to sell outright or trade for a decent-ish small practice amp and maybe cash either way depeding on the trade. I paid £75 cash, so I'd like to get that much back. Its too big to post so will need to be collected or I can meet within a reasonable distance of Gloucester. It has a funky little tuner on the top, overdrive and an octaver with floor pedal, CD input and various outputs on the back and a mute button which is quite handy. In excellent conditon, just some paint rubbed off the Crate logo. I'll upload some pics tomorrow. Any more Q's then just send me a PM. Sales Blurb: * Crate 15" bass driver * 100W RMS * Chromatic tuner * Input pad and tuner mute * Distortion channel with gain, shape, and level * Clean channel with level, 4-band EQ, and octave switch with level * Limiter * RCA CD input * Headphone jack * XLR balanced line out with level, ground lift, and pre/post EQ select * CFS2 footswitch included
16. If you check out that guys other videos, he has a comparison with the original pickup and the upgrade... In fact, here it is.. Linky
17. Havent owned this bass long, bought from Nugget of the forum. Its in great condition, a few light scratches to the back and some fret wear. My first bass and I love it, but I dont need two 5 stringers. I'd like £135, I can post at buyers expense, which would be £20 Collection would be fine from Gloucester, or I might be able to deliver within a reasonable distance. I would also consider a trade for a Fender/Squire Jazz bass for around the same money. My camera battery is dead, so for now, Ill point you to the original post. Pics will be availible soon. Original Post And some more pictures Here So in summary, £135 collected with cash or £155 posted. Personal delivery availible if localish. Paypal fine if you cover the fees.
18.
That is very interesting. The neck looks to be original pre-EB. Bullet truss rod, skunk stripe and 3-bolt neck plate. Control plate could be but the body is probably not. The bridge definitely doesn't look right. Story: Several years ago a local luthier borrowed my pre-EB so that he could take a pattern of the body. He had a customer in Sussex who had several old Stingray necks that he needed bodies for. Go figure.
The neck plate seems to be blank though, surely it should be stamped with the serial number or the logo? The headstock seems to be 1976-8 style from what I can make out. The bridge, I cant find one like it anywhere. I suppose its possible it is a 70's stingray thats just had bits chopped and changed.
19. Anyone seen this? Looks a bit dubious to me, but I know little about them. The back plate looks wrong, there is no battery compartment, the bridge doesnt look quite right.... what do you lot think? Ebay link
20. What do you think it actualy is? An OLP or vintage or just some bodge job fake?
21. Bought a Boss ME20B pedal. Expertly packaged and in fine condition as described. Great chap!
22.
I agree but I can't help but feel somewhat stupid/silly that I'm complaining about a small dot and a bent screw
True, I see your point, but still, you have paid your hard earned money for something, it should be put together properly especially that amount of money. If one bolt is bent, what else might be wrong? We have all heard of the expression, "friday afternoon guitar"
