New guy chiming in... I've played the LH heads through hydrive cabs and they give gobs of power, definition and clarity. Gobs. However the EQ section is tone stack, ala Fender, so setting everything at 5 actually gives you a scooped, smiley-face EQ. Flat EQ is actually 9-3-9 on bass-mid-high
Flat is actually 2-10-2 Bass Mids High The Mids are very scooped, if liked every clip of them i've heard so may invest before too long

The pedal board on uprising was prettu simple, pretty much replicateable with a muff and Deep Impact (which you do have!) Thats as far as i know as it was a similar set up to Time is running out which was two deep impacts

You "could" but it would be reaaall floppy and as dc2009 said would be almost un playable, I use a 110 or a 115 for my E (in standard tuning! I like the strings tight ) and getting down to a B is alright on the .115 but still too floppy for my tastes! (I use a .140 B on my 6 strings)

Watch the "Just Dance" video the bass is awesome!

Rich did some work on my bass, top top man! Wonderfully done, and it was quick too without the heavy pricetag! His bass building skills are awesome to behold too! Really nice guy, so buy in confidence (even offered me some tea and to watch the gran prix with him but i was running late enough as it was, and and he has good taste in music ) and if he ever steers you wrong i know where he lives so i can clap him round the ear though i that would never need to happen! Top class instrument tech/builder/gentleman!

Fender Am. Std. or Am. Spl. (both Precision)
AttitudeCastle replied to gsgbass's topic in Bass Guitars
I didn't like the American Special i played, not a fan of the greese bucket circuit, it's just a treble control and i like the tone being a tone control when i roll it off with more woof and bass but if you like just the treble to change then you'll love it, the neck is also really good, i prefered that over the American Standard though i think they are now the same? (The Standards are being changed is what i told but i'm not sure!) -
I would like to see real DB tone from an electric bass. In my brain, I'm imaging a DB neck attached to a P bass sort of thing, with a DB bridge and tailpiece. So really, a DB that can be worn over your shoulder, but is essentially the same size as an electric. Also, double neck basses, but instead of the traditional parallel necks model, I'm thinking one neck underneath the other. So, from the front it looks like a standard bass, but it's got one neck mounted behind the other. This way, you can have a double necked guitar without needing giant cases and without looking like a tool! (copyrighted) Truckstop
Kind of like this? I think ERBs being more common with new designs (not just a normal bass with 10 strings!) like i have a few ideas though i'm keeping them to myself Maybe new neck shapes, bass seem to get C and D and it ends there! I'd like a Boat/V shaped neck on bass, Though i think things are alright as they are, plus people who have these bright ideas go start companies and we buy there stuff so no stopping people making their fortune Fully adjustable nuts and bridges etc i think would like to be standard in 10 years though i don't really see it happening as it's not really neccesary and i guess falls in the nice gadget to have column Edit: A new system for necks allowing necks to be changed easily or pickups to be just screwed down (ie no wiring and stuff) though thats all be looked at just never perfected

John Entwistle's Status Buzzard 1 FOR SALE
AttitudeCastle replied to garethox's topic in Basses For Sale
I know Andrea (the guy in Italy). He is a collector who has numerous rare instruments - Alembic Spyder etc etc. Good guy who takes care of his gear. Why? Simple really. I always said I was passing through the Buzzard's life and I have for two years. My girls are getting older and the money can be put to very good use elsewhere. I am definately not bored of how she looks or plays, it is quite simply the greatest bass I have ever played and the fact it was The Ox's is a huge thrill every time I pick her up.
Ah makes sense! Gareth is great guy so anyone looking at this considering it, he is a real gentleman to deal with, and you will be getting a well loved and cared for instrument! -
They are great friendly chaps too. Me with Bruce and Nicko few years ago.
Rather jealous!

I love my mother :') She organised the Iron Maiden tickets as she knew i was devestated (as i found out i'd be away, but then plans changed so i was here!) AND for my Birthday (well 2 days after) I'm Seeing Mr.Big on the 15th of September! If i'd made it to Dream Theater in Wolverhampton tonight/tomorrow That would make my 3 favourite bands in one year!
I was slightly further back for them - sound was decent there. Just thought they were a naff band. Bit too much like ACDC for my liking (whom I'm also not a fan of) Maiden were pretty awesome, the older stuff was much better than the newer stuff i thought. Was in stitches at Bruce getting distacted mid song by the girl flashing ("Did you just flash your T!ts? You did didnt you? They were very nice") The amount of faded band tshirts and denim was shocking! Oh and white dunlop trainers..
Yeah i moved back to get a better sound, I know xD What song was that in? It was a bit of a blur songs ending as it was all so awesome! Haha there was some shirt snobbery, "My shirt is from 78 yours is only from 85" haha
Glad you enjoyed it I'm still jealous!
Hopefully you will be able to get a cheap ticket nearer the show
one more sleep till we go to see them really looking forward to it.what were airbourn like live?
VERY VERY LOUD. It was just mush, but that may have been the venue as it's like that alot (Maiden were fine though!) Decent hard rocking Aussie style rock! All the songs sounded the same minus one which i really liked actually!
Is he still using a white one then? Maybe next year's Steve Harris sig will be white, with no crappy football graphics...
Yep! Used it the whole set, only member of the band not to change guitar/mic haha!
im actually doing the opposite in my bass, im conveting it from active to passive as i plugged a jazz bass into my bass rig and it was the best sound ive heard in my life
If the pickups are passive but it still has an Active pre-amp it will over all sound pretty "active" anyway,
Dude stop mucking about with that Shuker. (unless you check with Jon first)
I was thinking the same
I'll probs get excited for the gig just before it. Got to work (with concussion too >.<) before hand! Incidently if you see someone with Purple-ish hair and a white rage tshirt come say hi
Haha will do Dave! Where do you work? (just out of interest! haha) I'm going Maiden spotting today in like an hour as i've dreamt of even just getting a photo of them for like 4/5 years and i don't think i'll take a camera tonight so i can get up to the front! (Need to see Steve Harris up on the moniter!)
