1. Big shout for OBBM here as well. There's also Bedford Guitars as well to add to the list.
2.
That sounds great. What's the bass set up and how did you record it?
Thanks a lot! We recorded at Gav's small studio (Tidy Studios) in Bridgend. The bass setup was USA Fender P into a Darkglass B7K and then compression added via protools. I can't remember what one tbh. I'm quite happy with the tone we got.
3. Where's the shameless promotion forum? 😎 Me and a few friends, namely Gavin from Funeral For a Friend and Gordon from Raging Speedhorn have been working on a project for some time now. Finally we've mixed a track and put it up on our bandcamp. https://shadowsintolight.bandcamp.com/track/beautiful-monsters Sorry if this isn't allowed or is in the wrong forum.

How quick do they reply to emails? I'm looking to buy a T47 but I've asked if it's possible to have a remote switching option between A and B that can be used by the channel switching part of a Boss ES8/5
5. That's awesome! I quite fancy a bass like that. I love the offset of the Jazz, neck of a P and the PJ pickups. I think that would be my ideal bass.
6.
Had a go through one of these the other day with the matching 4x10. Was really impressed, I used to think that Ashdown were woolly lumps but this had a real crisp-ness and bite. A little bottom heavy, but roll off the bass control and that was tamed. Lots of volume on tap. Well worth trying. This was at guitarguitar in Epsom btw, good shop and the staff were friendly.
Good to know they stock them. A friend works there so I may pop in next time in London bound.
7. IMO only tweed goes with tweed. Plus you have a modern looking head and a vintage looking cab. So I think the colour of the faceplate won't make a difference.
8.
Are you looking for a flight case or say a wooden type enclosure?
Wooden tolex covered sleeve. I've emailed Zilla.
9. Any recommendations for a custom sleeve for a 2U rack head?
10. Here's mine and I already want the new Darkglass Alpha Omega to replace the Pike.
11. Everything is in excellent condition. The head is less than a year old. I'm looking for an Ashdown ABM 600 EVO IV, non rack version.
12. This is a fantastic pedal but I'm after a DG duality. . This comes with box and velcro on the bottom. Price includes postage.
13.
Do the 600s have a traditional a/b power section or class D?
It's 12.5kg so I'd presume a/b
14.
New version (20th anniversary) is out this year....
Just saw on their site. I am drooling.
15.
I picked one up on Xmas Day, at a very nice price, have been very impressed with it. I`ve used a lot of different Ashdown amps as provided rigs, loved them all, and this one is no different, for the first time in a long time I`m totally satisfied with my amp.
Good to know. I've got an OB-1 500 at the moment and I find it almost too harsh at times. I think it's a super mid focused amp. Plus I keep my amp and pedalboard in a Peli case now so the Ashdown gets extra points as it has its own casing.
16. I'm thinking about switching to Ashdown again. I've not played the newest model. Any opinions on them?
17. I use a Behringer Xenyx 502. Cost about £30 new. Plug my bass in to one channel and my phone via mini jack to phono into the mixer. Works a treat.
18.
I think at that price point people expect all the whistles and bells. Also there's a preamp cavity fitted to the bass, just no actual preamp.
It's just rear routing for the controls. Of course it could be tighter but then everyone would moan that you'd have to make permanent mods to it to put a preamp in. Much like a Fender USA Deluxe Tele. They're SS pickups and routed SSH. It's cheaper without it being detrimental to the instrument and helps with not perminetly changing the instrument. Fodera are expensive but that enables wood to be picked with more care, fretwork to be perfect etc. IMO who needs an onboard pre when most of them can be found in pedal form, Aguilar, Sadowsky etc.
19. Why the gripes about it being passive? If you buy a nice James Tyler Mongoose guitar that'll set you back the same kind of money and it's essentially a Les Paul'd Tele. But it is the best guitar I've ever played in my life. These basses are going to be out of reach for lots of people and some people can afford it and won't pay either. But I'd like to try one out before I'd slate it for being Fender inspired. You don't need a preamp for a bass to sound amazing and they cost next to nothing to make.
20.
Thanks all. AB100 (Line/instrument selector), not exactly the same but in the same niche. If that's my issue, and coincidentally both reverbs have the same issue, what's the most cost-effective way to address, do you reckon?
Well I'm using a Radial mix but I think they're expensive and rare. But basically buy a loop pedal with a phase invert. Maybe Lehle do one? I've stopped buying budget gear, I'd rather wait and buy a quality version of what I need.
21. I'd say it's out of phase. I had similar with my Radial MIX but it has a phase invert. Problem solved.
