1. Final price reduction before it goes under the bed!
2. Just sneaked another look at my (not very well hidden) Christmas present, and I have to say, I cant find fault with it. For the price, its unbelievable quality and value, and if I had wanted fancy extras, they could have been added for very little. I cant wait till Christmas, so I can use it in anger! Already, I'm thinking of getting a Jake (P Bass) and a Tele Bass................
3. Javier has been an absolute delight to do business with. No problems at all, very courteous and pleasant. Highly recommended, and dont let the fact that he is in Madrid put you off. I've had more problems dealing with people in the next town....... Cheers, Bob
4. Playing a gig at a posh girls finishing school and watching some of the audience remove items of clothing and perform lewd acts in what was obviously a pre arranged effort to put the band off their stride! It worked. At one point our singer got so distracted he forgot his words and stood in the middle of the stage (watching what was going on in front of him) mumbling something.............. We were asked back the next year, but to this day, its the only gig we have ever refused because we didnt want to do it. It was fun at the time, but so demeaning!
5. Excellent transaction with Ade, who bought my RH 750. Friendly, paid immediately (including PayPal fees!) and collected. A very nice chap as well, and I hope he really likes the amp! Cheers, Bob
6. This was my bass originally from new, and it really is a superb instrument, best of all, its as light as a feather! Good luck with the trade.
7. Hi Jeremy. Thanks for the nice words! Call in any time you are passing. The kettles usually on! Cheers, Bob
8. There seem to be a lot of Stingrays for sale at the moment?
9.
Oh no Phew, well at least it won't have a very low action so I'm safe Nearly jumped on the last one.....
But it has.........
10. As new, TC RH750 head, with TC gigbag. Unbelievably powerful, and every tone shaping parameter you could wish for. Built in tuner, tweetertone, compressor, etc, etc. In excellent condition, although the TC gig bag has a slightly torn corner that could do with a couple of stitches. I have gigged with it a few times, and it really is far too loud and powerful for what I need! I did a large ballroom on Saturday, and the volume knob was on about 2! SOLD to Ade. Many thanks! Bob
11. As new, Blueburst Overwater/Tanglewood Contemporary Jazz, with gig bag. Really mint, excellent active jazz, with Overwater design pickups and preamp. Only for sale because I have just taken delivery of a new Maruszczyk Elwood, which is a similar beast (except its baby pink!). I have just fitted straplocks, and there is a decent quality gigbag included. With the abalone block inlays, it really looks the bees knees! NOW TRADED Cheers, Bob
12. Excellent condition 2008 Stingray with hard case. 3 eq model, standard issue in every way, almost as new bass, hardly touched by me since I bought it. Not a lot to say I guess! NOW SOLD. Thanks Javier! Thanks. Bob
13. I've got both, luminlay and Sims leds, and its leds every time for me. The luminlays have a lot going for them, but you cant beat the bright light of an led. They are pricey, but the batteries last at least a year on mine, with regular gigging, and I can see them in pretty much any stage light.
14. I did think of getting a 30" scale, but thought it best to split the difference and go for a 32". It felt really nice and easy to play in the 10 minutes I had! I know where its hidden, so could probably sneak a play anytime Sue is at work to be honest, but Father Christmas might cancel all my other presents for being a naughty boy..........
15. I have just this morning taken delivery of a new Elwood active bass, and whilst I cant say a great deal about it until after Christmas (its my present from my wife, Sue, and she has taken it away and hidden it now!), I have to say that I am really impressed (especially when the price is factored in). I ordered a semi-custom 32" scale active Jazz type, in baby pink with a maple fingerboard, Delano pickups and a Glockenklang preamp with passive override. The order went in only 5 weeks ago, I paid half (of very little) up front. the other half last week, and Adrian at Marusczyk was a pleasure to deal with. Its a very light bass, looks great, sounds excellent, seems very well made indeed and exactly as I ordered, and came with a free (superb) leather strap, very good gig bag and a cd of Adrian's band! I cant answer any detailed questions, as I said, I had 10 minutes to play her and she was whipped away until Christmas, but I couldnt find anything whatsoever to criticize. I have one photo, sent to me by Adrian on completion, which I will try to upload here.
16. Have a look on Thomann's website. They have loads of led set ups for bands at great prices. We have used 3 or 4 Kam and Thomann T Bar systems for a few years now, and they really are the bees knees. Wouldnt be without them. No heat, low power draw, dead simple to use, the new ones are bright as hell (if thats what you want). We can get all the lights up in 5 minutes or so! In fact, we now leave all of our lighting duties to my wife.........
