1. I'm trying to get some more information on Music Man Sabres. I played a new Classic Sabre in a shop recently and really liked it. It had a 5 way pickup selector, and covered pickups like the Ernie Ball Sabres. How do these 3 types of Sabre (Late 70s pre Ernie Ball, 80s Ernie Ball, and the new Classic Sabre) compare in terms of sound, tonal options etc? There's not a whole lot of info out there about them. I know that the Classic Sabre and 80s ones have a 16 pole piece front pickup, which will obviously change the sound, and were introduced to counter the big magnets interfering with the string vibrations, is this a big disadvantage of the pre Ernie Ball basses? Thanks, James

3. Sorry guys I only just saw these replies. I have my heart set on an Aguilar Tone Hammer, sorry!
4. +1 to that advice. The japaese 'PB70' has a neck in between a jazz and a precision, which may be something to consider. I had one a while back, it was a cool bass.
5. price drop - £800.00 inc. shipping.
6. I bought an Aguilar Octimizer from Andy. The Octimizer arrived very quickly, very well packed, and exactly as described. 10/10!
7. £50.00 including postage. Dear all, MXR M88 Octave Pedal. Bought second hand years ago from Vintage and Rare guitars a few years ago. Apart from some of the original rubber padding that's remaining on the bottom where I put velcro on it, it's in great condition, see pictures. Great pedal, because of the big rubber dials you can change the levels with your foot while playing. Very clear but fat lower octave, and it's so useful to be able to control the volume levels of both octaves. £50.00 including postage. Thanks for looking, James
8. Well spotted, I didn't realise they had stopped making the 62, although they still seem to be making other jazzes on the 'American Vintage' line. OK, as there haven't been any serious offers for people to come and play it, I will now offer it for shipping. £825.00 including shipping. Exactly what I paid for it. I will wrap the case in bubble wrap as best I can.
9. 2nd price drop - £780.00
10. Thanks! Glad you liked it. I've had some interest, but no takers so far. American Vintage is a level above American Standard for those who aren't clued up on these. It is an accurate reissue of the stacked knob jazz basses from the early 60s. To get a real one could cost upwards of £20,000 for a good one!
11. A flight to Dusseldorf from Gatwick is as little as £55 return for anyone who's interested. But the baggage fee may bump it up a bit!
12. still available. Located in Greenwich most of the time, but I can bring it to Bath when I am there every week on Monday/Tuesday.
13. Bass located in Bath until Thursday if that helps anyone. I will meet for fuel money on top.
