1. If this is still going around I'd love to try it. So can I be added to the list? I'm in Romford, Essex.
2. Ben bought my Ibanez. Top bloke and well recommended to deal with.

4. This has probably got to be the quickest turn around for a bass for me. Due to no fault of its own I'm looking to move this on. As fantastic a bass it is, it just isn't ticking all the boxes for me. I've always like ricks and the novelty of owing a birthday bass too control of my buying decision when I got this. For a bass of its age its in good condition. I shows signs of being played, a few dings and marks here and there. I have tried to capture these in the pics below. It sounds exactly how a rick should sound. it just isn't working for the music that I play. It comes with its original case, which has a few marks but is perfectly functional. I have taken the bridge pickup cover off, but can put it back on if the buyer wants. i'll also include a 21ft stereo cable I had made by OBBM on here so you can use the Rick'o'Sound to its full potential. I want to trade. Ideally I want a modulus flea bass. (Why I sold my original 2 i never know!) or may consider a nice Stingray + cash my way. SOLD Here are some pics, taken with my iPhone. I can take more if needed, with a proper camera.

I'd be interested in a cash only sale too, but seeing as I've got it up for sale I may as well just check, any interest in my Trace (see my sig)?
Cheers for the offer of the trace, but I'm a GK man I'll look forward to your PM!

Retrovibe RV4 These seem to be well received on here. I love it. Rickenbacker styling, finished in black. Very well made. Is passive with 2 musician style humbuckers. The pickups are very loud, and for a cheap rickenbacker copy offer a whole host of tones. Well made, and pretty light. Its in pristine condition. SOLD - Thanks to all interested. I'd prefer not to post as I don't really have the time. Potential buyers are welcome to come try out. I'll even offer tea and a hob nob. I'd consider trades. There are a few things I want, or would buy with the money I'd get for these. A firewire audio interface of some sort, decent-ish studio monitors, Sansamp VT thingy. Try me.
12.
You can open the audio files no problem
Excellent. Thats exactly what I wanted to hear Cheers!
13. I want to be able to mess about with stuff that is done in the studio using Logic Studio, but don't want to spend £400+ on something for just messing about with. Simply put, does anyone know if I could open a session recorded in Logic Studio in Logic Express?
14. I have managed to get a half decent bass tone on there with my ric. I use the "small brown face combo" with no effects. EQ is bass around 5, mid & treb around 6-7. Sounds good to me...I use an Apogee Jam, so can control the gain via that.
15. I'll have it. A PM is winging its way to you.
16. Turn round and give the drummer a dirty look as its obviously his fault!
17. Very similar to my '82 4001 I bought last week. Few dings and scratches here and there. If it plays well, has a straight neck and sounds good then go for it. I wouldn't pay more than £1200 for it.

obbm's feedback

Ordered a stereo Y splitter cable to use with my Rickenbacker. Its top quality and a damn sight cheaper than getting a stereo box. I know where i'll be going for my cables from now on.

NBD!

For me black is the only colour a Rick should be. Its just so classic. I love the way the white binding has yellowed with age. Had it in the studio last night for the first time, cranked up it is just awesome. Can't wait to gig it Friday.
Time to get those old Rush records on and get shedding!
Every time I ever play a rick in a shop I always do a rendition of Tom Sawyer/Freewill/Limelight. They are my benchmark songs to check that it sounds as it should!

NBD!

Well, it was yesterday actually, but I have been too busy playing it to post on here. After some thinking and advice seeking I decided to buy my Birthday bass. A lovely 1982 Rickenbacker 4001. Made in a June 1982, a month before I was born. It sounds better than i expected through my amp, thunderous and as a Rick should. Only one issue, which is the output jack is very very noisy if moved. I'm gonna go get that looked at today. Anyway, Pics!
23. Cheers for all the advice. Its reassuring to know it should be ok with heavier strings. I have just this minute got home after buying it Does anyone have any recommendations for who to take to to get set up? Local to London/Essex. I'd rather someone who knew about 4001 rods do it.
24. I quite like it. You have a PM
