I was after one of these for ages. And now my attention is diverted!
Just out of interest, which shop did this come from? -
Staring At The Sun - Level 42.
Reminds me of going to work with my dad in the summer holidays. Mega. -
pm'd mate.

did this ever go?
-
i'm going to put my name in the hat for this, i've got a better set of top bollocks than the last three, haha.
Still, that little bit of me is saying 'go for it, you never know...'
May send my cv in, he may want a 25 year old lad on bass... -
650 is a winner!
-
Stingray got sold...didn't use it.
But i've had them in the past all at once.

Did these on the settee, so they're in both threads.
The rehearsal room/studio is closed for refurb, so all of the boys are home.

2000 Warwick Corvette Swamp Ash
2007 Fender MIM 50's Precision Bass White Blonde
2001 Fender USA 75' Jazz Bass (Factory Special Run)
1983 Squier Japan Precision Bass 3 Colour Sunburst
2007 Fender Japan 62' Precision Bass Old Lake Placid Blue
2003 Fender Marcus Miller Jazz Bass Natural

1980's Yamaha Japan BB300 Metallic Red (My first ever bass...)
Oooh, and a snazzy Jazz painting by me in the background
And the monkey in photo is a 2009 Ella in Daphne Blue and Brown Chimp pickguard.

i'm going for the natural jazz, i think. We're due a few of them.
-
tried the 2024 and 2024x at bassday. I'd have one. Dave at Yamaha has got my number for when he's selling his demo stock off.
I really liked them. -
awwwwwwwwww!
Enjoy Si, i weep every time i see a jack Casady these days. -
yeah, i thought i recognised it as Leeds.
A real shame. I hope it boosts Johnny Roadhouse back up.
Anyhow, in fairness to the lads that have now moved on from MG, their boss didn't help them out at all, probably why they came across the way they did. -
sign on the window...
"store relocating..."
Phone number begins 0113?
I think the Music Ground Manchester shop's service had left a lot be desired, i've heard mixed stories from my customers.
Personally, i thought it was a new, old school guitar shop. -
i'm gutted to have missed out on a burst prs bass from the bass centre last year.
A very cool bass... -
Just had a mooch, and the shop fitting is still in place, but no gear, apart from the Levys strap stand.
There isn't a note on the door or anything.
Meant to wander up to Johnnys to have a gab, but didn't have much time.
Still, if anybody sees Napper, pass on my regards. -
still no shipping?
-
i was dissapointed, felt every inch the cobbled together cash in i feared it would be...still i paid my £9 so, i guess more fool me.
Some brilliant playing on there, as for the perma slap, there is a dvd of a show from the 'dangerous' tour and the guy slaps everyhing!!!
Oh well, i'm off to listen to 'off the wall'. -
A real shame, heard rumbles and rumours as early back as a year ago.
I know the guys all had something to walk into, so it's a little less sad than it could have been.
Napper is a legend and a true gent, all the boys at my shop are gutted to see Music ground go.
Fingers crossed, we'll see them out and about.
Trav x -
apparently Guitar Guitar have tge new distributorship (is that a word, if so i like it...)
This probably means not many other dealers apart from them.
40% price rise i'd heard.

Mick is a great guy to deal with, highly reccomended.

As a point, Flea used a Wal a hell of a lot in the studio at this time.
His Musicman was mainly live use. It could have been his Musicman 5 string Stingray.
Watch the 'Funky Monks' dvd, his bass sounds like that throughout. And that's his Wal.
Top bassline though. -
just try a couple, the newer ones vary a fair bit in weight.
The treble on the preamp is a bit overbearing sometimes...
I am planning on having something done to mine, been debating a respray or something...
Also, the active/passive switch doesn't mean that if the battery fails you can carry on, it isnt a bypass switch but, how often does that happen? -
Nickel. The XL's. D'addario prosteels don't feel like that.
