  1. I prefer my ham fisted inaccurate impersonations of all basslines.

I can’t even master half of my own 😂

She Caught The Katy - I was pretty chuffed when I found my feet with that fairly easy for a mates 40th - I recall being baffled by it when I was a much younger Duck Dunn fan.

I also enjoyed nailing Come On, Come over in full - on fretless. Couldn’t do it now without going through the process again.

the only bassline I can play flawlessly without issue is please do not go by the violent femmes - including the solo bit.

That was my party piece for years - nobody was impressed only about 3 people I’ve spoken to actually know the song…

Big Bottom is my soundcheck riff.

Not sure if you saw it Andy but somebody on FB looking for a lightweight bass. I posted advising this was for sale.

It’s light ish, but not overly - it’s not a small body, so stays around the same as a regular solid body

Ah yes thanks, that's right...it was the older 414/5 that didn't have the laminate necks.

The 414 and 415/614/615 have shallower necks too…

    hence my 414 stays

    Yes, absolutely 🙂

The pups in the 424/5 are flatter vs sonically richer / sweeter in the 1024/5.

Plus more refined woodwork eg laminate neck (1024/5) vs single piece if I remember correctly.

    laminate neck on 424 also

Is the 1024x a worthy upgrade to the 424x for an extra £150-175ish?

I found it a bit “muddy” in comparison- quite “dark” - but I think it would work with my current band…

I need to make a tiny truss tweak on my 1982 BB2000 but don't have the truss rod tool. Can anyone in the know recommend a suitable tool for the job?

Gibson 8mm truss tool (box wrench)

  7. Erm.

    TC Nether -

Having owned multiple OC-2’s I started looking for another. Damn they’re expensive for what they are…gone are the days of a £55 Taiwanese OC-2.

Anyhow - this does the same job…within reason. Really like it actually.

    The Zero Fret -

Dod Bi-Fet pre clone with built in Fuzz (2 stages of fuzz)…

Honestly, the mightiest bass fuzz I’ve heard; does well for warm fluffy drive as a pre…also works beautifully for guitar.

    Hopefully @walshy forgets that I have it…

    Korg Pitchblack -

Decent tuner came up cheaply and completes the board.

Missing is the Dunlop volume pedal - it’s massive and won’t go on the board so I forgot to photograph it.

Cheap PSU, no mad big draw on any of the pedals so this will do for £35.
