  1. I concur. I have the EHB1506MS and love the top and pretty much agree with all other comments. For many years although I started out as solely 6 string I was solely 5 string with a high C most recently so it's taking a bit of adjusting back to 6. I'm dying to get the short scale 5 string for my general use and it's almost guaranteed that will likely become my main bass to pick up and practise with. Although I'm an Ibanez fanboy this range typically wouldn't be my thing regarding aesthetics but the ease of playing, weight, ease of access to upper frets, general ergonomics etc mean it gets a significant amount of play time Vs my other basses. The look has now fully grown on me too. My one ask would be slightly narrower string spacing on the 6 even after adjusting to closet possible.
  2. Ok plan B. Turns out the grey is only for US and Canadian market...
  3. Yeah they only have the 4 short but not in multiscale. And I thought exactly the same about the ANS finish.
  4. https://www.ibanez.com/usa/products/detail/ehb1005sms_1p_01.html ok...the Matte Grey metallic it is...
  5. Excellent price for an excellent setup. GLWTS
  6. Yes! These aren’t as up my street but for completeness:
  7. New for 2021-pretty much what I asked Santa for. A higher quality and better balance short scale Ibanez than the current TMB. Ideally around 30.75” (who else can’t afford Matt Garrisons new Fodera...) I have a 1506MS but I’ll be ordering on of these as soon as I can.
  8. Well I got the OC5 for 'birthday' as the first pedal to start replacing my pedal board from and funnily enough I yhink the C4 is next. It's that or an envelope filter. I'm still torn which way to go.
  9. I have number 4. My first bass and what got me into playing. I gave it to my niece to learn and by suprise got it back last year as they'd kept it. Apart from sentimental reasons I do love it as a pure P bass too. Swamp Ash. Solid build. Great sound. Mine is still 100% stick but been toying with upgrading loom and pickups too. £20 is an utter bargain for a bass like this. I've always wanted to get another one.
  10. Check out from 28.40. 20m of some of the finest solo bass. From classical, to jazz, to blues, to rock.
  11. My mum bless her gave me £20 in a wallet to buy something I want. Shame it's £1200 short to get the ANB205 I want in the for sale section...
  12. A couple of years at Birmingham Conservatoire here. Tbh a lesson with Fred wasn't a lesson in the traditional sense. In between the stories and bites of outstanding improv I'd get him to play a whole tune around a particular technique, concept or theory and just take it all in and try and practise what I saw picking up things on the way.
  13. Show some love for the criminally underrated (unless you know, then you know) FTB. Please like and share his vid if you appreciate it. The big guitar starts just after 9 minutes. I was lucky enough to have lessons with Fred almost 15 years ago. I remember walking into my first lesson with anticipation after reading a byline article many years before in Bassist about this underrated bass player that had a cassette demo of him playing Pachabels canon in multiple parts with harmonics. Needless to say this man could do that and much more. Enjoy
  14. As a longtime user of OC2 many many years ago (why did I sell it...well I sold everything and didn't play for some time) and the dilemma what to go for now I'm so glad I went with the OC5 in the end. The down and up sounds are both as I wanted/like. Wonderful pedal that I can see myself enjoy for many many more years.
  15. Little known Paul Jackson/James Levi/Freddie Jackson vibes.... It's also prompted me to do 30 sec of fonk between meetings as I just don't get time to do some 'proper' recording anymore. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CI079yxlce1/?igshid=1seox1xstdl0y
  16. Basically this. When i reminded myself how much I liked my OC2 and started looking at the more boutique offerings I feltt his was the way to go. I have a budget to treat myself for birthday so this way maybe get 2 pedals vs 1! Now the search for the right envelope filter begins...
  17. Persuaded. OC-5 ordered...
  18. My argument to the wife was it was our wedding colour...thats how I get expensive equipment ok'd here.
  19. https://www.instagram.com/p/CIx2aZxMwW-/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link A good 'advert' for the OC-5. 2 videos showing down and up.
  20. Completely agree. I ended up here as after a year or so trying to get same in grey. I finally thought it was sorted via bass direct. Checked like 6pm one day and 9.05am next day went to buy and they were gone. So stretched to get the two cabs so this doesn't happen. I don't use 15in and I think my days of 2 4*10 stack or similar have gone. So this gives me 3 formats to play with that also max out the ag700 anyway so should be everything I need. Supposedly the 'only' 2*10 ordered to UK but I'm actually guessing it's just the first. Also Bass Direct have some deals on the purple but I just preferred the green. I wish they did the blue bossa for the 212 too as love that colour.
  21. That was it. Yes I realised just after about the distorted nature of sound... At the moment I'm now being swayed back to the OC5 after seeing a quick video of it being played on instagram. I had an OC2 for years and regretted getting rid of it...
  22. Thanks both. The pre really is excellent and pairs really well with the Nordstrand. I play with a very very low action and this bass is so smooth. Tbh I got a saving on the GWB1 which is the only reason this needs to go and happy to make this a deal if anyone wants it. Appreciate its not immaculate condition as it's been played but images represent it fairly and as always don't affect the sound.
  23. Reduced to £725... My two basses for sale have to go.
  24. Can't see where anyone else has mentioned these? After years of lusting over an Aguilar rig I finally went to get a Dorian Grey setup but missed out by what felt like minutes, then this was teased...so I held out and have ordered the middle setup: SL112 and SL212. They come Jan/End of Feb to UK shipping pending...I'll do actual product photos and comments then. Anyone else thinking of going for one of these?
