1. Ian just bought my Acme B1 off me - smooth transaction and would be happy to work with again. Enjoy the low end!
 2. Bump for price drop. If you have an offer, PM me...but no trades.
 3. Thanks for the interest all. I am finalising a sale as we speak...just awaiting payment. Once it comes through, this bad boy is gone. I'll post and close the thread once payment finalised.
 4. Hi all Ok, I am going to seriously regret this, but I need to raise funds, and my other stuff is taking a little while to sell. Up for grabs is my Bergantino IP112ER. I suspect if you are reading the ad you probably already know what it is about, but for those who do not: it's a powered cabinet with DSP and compression built in to give a fabulously voiced cab for electric bass which is seriously loud. You need to use a preamp with these to get the best out of them. They are no longer made, but seriously good. I've used a variety of preamps with it - Aguilar TH500, Sansamp BDDI, Zoom MS60B and B3, and even the front end of my GB Streamliner - all with great success. I've also plugged straight in for quieter practice sessions at home with no preamp (using active basses) and gotten excellent results. I've been using the Berg CN112 as an extension cab for it - rarely, and mostly just for kicks - but I just do not need that sort of incredible volume. It is in excellent condition and of course fully working order. The handle had gotten a bit worn after further usage so I got in touch with Jim Bergantino and he sent a replacement over to Mark at Bass Direct for me, now installed.

50lbs
1x12" + tweeter
1000W built in plate amp - 500W into the 8 ohm 12" in the cab itself, plus another 500W on tap for powering an 8 ohm extension cab
15 3/4" H x 18 1/12" W x 15"D
Comes with padded cover, instruction sheet, 2 x XLR to 1/4" cables (one short and another custom made long one), power cable
I will ship anywhere, at your expense. Get in touch with me for a shipping quote. [s]£1000[/s] NOW £950 + shipping to your door. SOLD. Paypal and Bank Transfer both fine, bank transfer preferred. Pete
 5. Hello all (and Andy) Just wanted to give props to Andy for getting back in touch with me. Our mutual schedules may not work out for getting the work done in a timely fashion, so I am electing to go with someone else, but Andy's email response to me was very generous/professional and it looks to me like he'd be a good guy to go to for future work. The photos of his stuff look stunning and he nice to deal with. His quote was reasonable too. This time around though, it's going to Sims. Like I said, I'll try and get some before and after pics up at some point. Pete
 6. Cheapest quote I had from anybody was £225. Most expensive £400. A couple in between. That's for complete stripping, sanding, refinishing, respraying and shipping back to me. It really seems very job and company dependent.
 7. Just bumping for a pic update. I found an extremely small mark on the back of the bass near the battery compartment. It is very small and extremely difficult to photograph, but nonetheless for the sake of completeness I though I should get a pic up. I've done my best....but the fact is it's pretty damn small and damn near impossible to photograph! Cicrled it as best I could in MS Paint...I can email high res pics if needed. The candy blue shows up nicely under the flash though...
 8. Looks like it'll probably be Sims. Once the work is complete I'll post up some pics.

 10.
Perhaps send him a PM on here?
May do so....but I've got a reasonable number of contenders who have responded, so I'm not particularly motivated to go PM'ing someone who hasn't responded through their own website.
 11.
I wouldn't like to guess - it depends on the amount of prep etc. Drop him a message on FB!
Yeah, it seems to be very job dependent.
 12.
AJR is a chap on here also (username is Andyjr1515). There's lots of pics of his work on his website www.ajrguitarmods.co.uk and he seems like a nice bloke from other threads he's been involved in: http://basschat.co.u...-refinish-help/
I emailed him...no response yet. So, he's not in the running currently.
 13. Sold a Lakland 55-01 to Lloyd - painless and simple. How all transactions on Basschat should be. Enjoy the bass mate!
 14.
Dave Wilson's work is second-to-none. He's a perfectionist.
He seems pretty 'on it' from our emails. You don't happen to have any pics of his work, do you? (Not stuff already on his website...had a gander already..)
 15. Hi all Looking for your collective wisdom. Considering a professional refinish on a quilt maple top bass which is a keeper. To remain a burst maple quilt top, not to go to a solid colour. I'm looking for recommendations for a pro to do the work. After trawling the forums, I have come up with a list of possibles, and need to know who does the best work, or who has at least the most recommendations. Cost is an issue, but doing a refin twice (if the first time it doesn't look right) is more expensive than getting it right the first time and paying for the proper job, so I'd prefer to go for quality every time. The shortlist goes: Sims Custom (Martin Sims) CA Guitarworks D Wilson Guitars (Dave Wilson) TJC Guitarworks (Terry Chapman) Moon Guitar Works (Jimmy Moon) AJR Guitar mods Rich Lewis (ou7shined on here) I have already been in contact touch with everyone on the shortlist and had responses from the first 4 only. So the list may already be getting narrower. Can I get your collective views on the quality of work and whom you would vote for? EDIT: and pics, if you have them and are willing to share... Thanks Pete
 16. Transcribe! is #1 for looping and playing along with. EQ to try and help bring up deeply mixed bass lines, highlight other parts, etc. Just great software. For many things I'm not writing them down so much anymore - trying to learn it by ear and play it perfectly on the instrument first. Melodies, bass lines, song forms, etc. There isn't always time for me to do this...it's slower than just working it out and writing it down. When I do write it down for just me, often manuscript paper and pencil. If it's a chart for the band, then Sibelius. Some fiddler transcriptions too if I am having a tough time working out rhythms - I'll try different things out in Sibelius. I used to use Noteflight and thought it much easier to use than Sibelius. But I ran into the limit of manuscripts it would let me store on the server and I didn't want to pay ongoing fees, so it withered on the vine for me. I couldn't get musicxml to export properly from Noteflight and have it read well in Sibelius, either. Too much editing needed. PITA
