1. Dave recently bought my GK head, and I can confirm he's a top man to deal with. Cheers Dave.
2. Thanks for the comments chaps. It really is a beefy amp, and I'd recommend it to anyone feeling that their current class D amp is somewhat lacking in the flappy trouser department.
3. I recently bought an amp from Dan. He's an honest seller and a top man to deal with. Thanks mate.
4. I'm moving on my Gallien Krueger 1001RB-II as I've gone down the pre/power amp route for a new project. It's only 1 year old, in great condition and comes with all the original packaging, unopened manual and chunky rack ears/handles. This amp puts out 700w into 4ohms, and 480w into 8ohms. I've been using it with a Barefaced BB2, and it is absolutely thunderous. Incidentaly if you remove the rack ears, it's the same width as a BB2 and therefore looks proper I'm after £399 collected from Margate, but can post for a little extra. 5. After a quick jam on the Overwater earlier, I think I'll leave it up for sale until Saturday. If it doesn't go before then, I'll withdraw it and get the pickup fitted myself
6. I recently purchased this Overwater as I've fancied a short/medium scale bass for some time, and it really appealed. The original thread for it can be found here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/253487-overwater-1980s-medium-scale-bass-on-hold/page__fromsearch__1 AS stated in the original thread, there is an issue with the EMG pickup currently fitted having a narrow magnetic field (50mm) which means the output on the G string is slightly quieter than the others. As soon as I bought the bass, I purchased an EMG MMCS Musicman pickup and electronics, with a view to not just remedy the issue, but to make a lightweight, medium scale, Stingray-esque bass that I won't be afraid to use on rough pub gigs, jam nights etc. when I'd be worried to use my 71 Precision or Sadowsky. The issue is, I like the shorter scale so much I've recently commissioned my first custom bass in 33'' scale This means a hefty deposit has been laid out and money must be recouped (so I've been told, anyway). It's a great, solid, handmade bass, with excellent hardware and original appeal. Although the bass can be used as-is, I think it'd be great if the new owner fitted the EMG MM pickup/electronics, so I'm including them in the sale. I'm after £285 for a quick sale It can be tried out/collected from Margate. 7. I recently purchased Paul's Overwater bass. He was very honest in his description, and generally a top man to deal with. Cheers, Paul.
8. A Yamaha 6 string? I can only assume that the real Beedster has had his account hacked!
9. I've played this bass and it's ridiculously good. Can't believe you're selling it, Harry! Trade for some baby grows?
10.
Still available?
It is indeed.
11. I may consider a trade for a six string guitar (not bass), electric or acoustic, as my old one has got a bad case of banana-neck.
12.
Not really no. The Police Squad have packed up although my other other lot 'Aftershock' do get Thanet bound. Birchington USC is next. Early Feb I think
OK cool, I'll keep an eye out.
13. Bump - £475 posted for this as-new piece of Aguilar awesomeness.
14.
cabs lost by city link? that sucks Jay. I hope it all works out for you. GLWTS (from another south east kent player)
Thanks mate, hopefully all will be resolved eventually. I've seen your band advertised in various places, but never seen you. Anything local coming up?
15.
Just wondering, would you be interested in a G&L 5string as p/ex / swap? Cheers
Sorry mate, I've tried 5 strings and my feeble mind can't get to grips with it. Thanks for the offer though.
16. Pics added to the first post, apologies for the delay.
17.
love to see some picture thanks
HI, I'm currently away from home on ''Best Man'' duties, but this is a rather awful picture I found on my phone. Proper pics to follow when I'm back. Incidentally, the white TKS cab in this photo is one of a pair that I recently sold on Basschat. They were lost (read STOLEN) by Citylink shortly before they went belly up. I'll start a proper thread regarding this issue when I get a chance.
Haaaaaaa, join the club Seriously nice amp and i have bought and sold stuff with Jay a few times, no problems there
Thanks mate, must meet up soon
Yes, I am aware of that - but as the seller is a long-established member with plenty of positive BC feedback, the necessity for pics is significantly reduced IMO/IME. YMMV of course...
Thanks for the vote of confidence
My 'words of wisdom' were aimed at all, not simply 'long-established members', and are valuable for all ads by all sellers. Just sayin'.
Fair point, I'll update the thread with pictures asap.
18. After going to Mothercare yesterday and spending more money than I did on my first two cars, this needs to go!
19. I'm letting my Aguilar Tone Hammer 500 go as I seem to be stockpiling amps at the moment. I bought it brand new a couple of months ago, and as such it is in absolutely mint condition, with all original packaging, manuals, gumpf etc. Everyone knows how awesome these are, properly fat tone with next to no weight. *SOLD*
20.
Sounds good, thinking about an Aguilar Tonehammer 500 with one of these - any opinions?
I'm currently using a TH500 with two TKS 112's. They sound amazing, real old school weighty tone with bugger all old school weight. I have a tweeter so I can get a zingy slap sound, but tend to go for a more punchy/fat tone these days, which this combo dishes out in spades. It proves that you don't have to put up with a mediocre tone in order to have light weight gear. Job done.
21. Here's a link to a slightly odd review with some less than great soundclips. It does however show the actual finish of this pedal. Pics still to come. http://www.premierguitar.com/articles/Swell_B_Peg_V3_Bass_Overdrive_Pedal_Review I'm after an acoustic or electric guitar at the moment so will entertain trades. What have you got??
22. An amazing, rare, all valve pedal with two channels and independent gain stages. I Purchased it for a project that has since folded, but used it to turn my solid state head into a vintage sounding valve amp, with the ability to have a low gain channel (which i had on all the time), and a high gain channel (for a volume boost/more distorted tone etc.). More info here: http://www.worldmusicnashville.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=161&category_id=44&flypage=flypage.pbv.v5.tpl&page=shop.product_details&product_id=1591&vmcchk=1&Itemid=161 It is in excellent condition, and comes with a high quality 240V to 12VAC power supply. It's blue, not gaudy pink as shown in the link! Pictures to follow this evening
23. I'll include the Peli case (over £100 new) for the asking price of £475. Bargain.
