1. I can include a leather(ish) gig bag and postage to those further afield?
 2. Andertons Prices: M900 - £795 M500 - £749 ....Wtf?
 3.
This is soo cheap! GLWS
Thanks, Matt.
 4.
Is it a jazz bass width neck (38mm)?
It is indeed.
 5. Pictures updated in OP, IMGBB saves the day!
 6.
https://imgbb.com/ Stunning bass btw.
Excellent, OP updated. Thanks!
 7.
I have an '83 Precision with a fullerton maple neck which has the same dimensions as this. If you're considering this, don't let the width put you off, it's such a comfortable neck to play that it doesn't feel chunky at all, it's probably my favourite p neck. And i'm short (5ft6) with relatively small hands, so I notice the disadvantages of a cumbersome neck more than many others..
Absolutely, although it's wide it's very comfortable to play. It feels very similar to a USA '57 RI P I had a while back, only a little smoother and faster due to it having been played-in for 30 odd years.
 8. Hmm, does anyone know of a hosting service that allows you to embed images? Like Photobucket before it went nuts?
 9.
Mystery knob never does the same tone twice though Jay, will sound like a flute next time you use it
Haha, at least the band mates might notice that I've got a different bass!
 10.
Courses, you'll need the undergrad to get a usable tone, the MSc to get those tones consistently, and the PhD to enable you to get every tone possible out of it. The problem I had with Wals live was that the tones I loved solo'd didn't work, so I resorted to finding Jazz- and Stingray-like tones (even Wal can't do a decent Precision), which begged the question of whether it was really worth taking £3k's worth of early 80's vintage bass to the Dog and Duck. The flip side is that once you take the time to find the unique Wal tones that do work, nothing else comes close.
Brilliant, looks like it's going to be a long road to becoming a fully competent Wal operator. It's funny you should say it can't do a P tone as I thought I nailed the fat 70's funk vibe last night, using the 'bass' pickup only with the associated mystery knob set to 5..
 11.
Mate, live it's the truth, I've see you playing a few different basses and whilst the basses are really different sounding solo'd, in the mix there's not much in it. But keep the Wal
Between you and our mutual Wal-loving friend, I think I'll have to. I just need to enroll on the Wal preamp course and I'll be sorted.
 12. https://flic.kr/p/YGPJ2Q P? Wal? Moon? Alpher? No matter which one I take to the gig, the band will insist i sound the same. Bloody non-bassists.
 13.
Mine is on mobile/Chrome It talks about no permissions
Hmm, seems to work for some and not others. Strange. If only Photobucket didn't become totally unusable we wouldn't have these problems! Here's a link to some additional images, security set to 'public' as before. Can you see them? https://www.flickr.com/photos/146983977@N08/shares/8zJd9z
 14.
The album is in private mode. I can't see pics
That's odd, it's telling me the album is 'public', and has had around 450 views? Can anyone else see the photos?
 15. Thanks chaps, she's a beaut'.
 16. On hold
 17.
That's a nice looking bass
Thanks mate.
 18.
That's beautiful.
Thanks mate, hope you're good.
So surprised this is still here ... This is a future collectors for just shy of 1k. .. Don't buy new this ones a winner .. If only I hadn't bought a house and a car ..modern day living ha ha GLWTS
Houses and cars are really affecting my bass collection. Is there some sort of rehab around to ween me off houses and cars?
This era of Fender basses are marvellous instruments. My 84 Precision is a cracking bass and I have no doubt this one here is a beauty. It looks absolutely superb. Good luck with the sale!
Agreed, they made some great stuff back then. Hugely preferable to the 70's stuff in my experience.
 19.
£1250 for an Alpher? Bargain of the year?!!
Agreed. A world class bass for less than a new Fender.
