Daka-Ware bakelite knobs - Where to get them?
bakerster135 replied to bakerster135's topic in Effects
Ahh, cool! I often wonder where a pedal has been before, whenever I buy a second hand one... I'm surprised there aren't more BGPs over here! I've owned loads of other green muff clones (BYOC, W&C, EQD, Fuzzrocious), and none sound anywhere near as good! It's tight and focussed, whereas the others seemed far too OTT for the sake of it. -
Might not be what you're looking for but.. http://www.banzaimus...ed-Pointer.html Also, I think you've got my old ARC BGP...enjoy!
These are great actually, thanks! It may well be your old ARC BGP! I got it off Kev, and you certainly don't see many around over here... -
A quick question for anyone who knows! If I take a six-plug daisy chain power lead, cut off four of the plugs (so that two remain), then cover the "wound" with electrical tape, will it still work!? Any assistance appreciated! Thanks, Al

Diago patch factory. They're great, very low profile.

Alternatives to velcro on a pedal? Also a good chorus pedal?
bakerster135 replied to TheMissWolfiee's topic in Effects
I use the TC Electronic Corona chorus, great sounding and very versatile. Their Vortex Flanger's pretty good too! There was a boss BF-2 Flanger going very cheap on the "For Sale" board very recently though, and you can't go wrong with those! -
COG Fuzz (settings pretty heavy)
Ahh, so that's your custom Tarkin from Tom! Saw that on the site and thought it looked great, bet it's brutal! -
I've decided I'm going to stick Daka-Ware bakelite knobs (like the ones on the Wren & Cuff TFR) on my ARC BGP. The current knobs are too tall, and I keep kicking them and/or changing my settings! Does anyone know a good supplier of these? I can only seem to find "vintage" ones on eBay, and they're all about £10 for one... Al

What's a boy to do if Darkglass isn't dirty enough?
bakerster135 replied to Scotticus's topic in Effects
bakerster135 - just reading your thread, seems like you're having an issue that isn't a million miles away. Any sign of a resolution at your end?
Hey Scotticus! Well, I think my issue was just down to not having had enough time to play around with the B3K at practice room/gig volume. I've since found my way around it a bit! I definitely think it can only really be used for "grit" though. I'm currently using my ARC BGP or a knackered old Turbo Rat in conjunction, to push it over the edge if needs be. -

You probably need to get a Fuzzrocious Rat Tail or Rat King. Think they'll do the trick! -
Thanks Ant, yeah I've been in touch with Spencer this evening. Out of interest, what settings do you go for? Al

Hey Tom, full input signal from the bass. Must admit I haven't tried the pedal on its own though! I'll have to do that tonight and see if it makes a difference...

Ok, never had the same issue with my Bass Drive Mosfet or Xotic BB which is why I was asking, and they don't have a blend. They kept low end just fine with what I assume was a purely effected sound. So going by that, and considering the B3K is a bass-centric overdrive, I was under the impression that even the "pure" effect sound would still be designed to have a lot of bottom end. Is that not the case then?

Hi all, Just had a question regarding the US B3K, and wondered if you could help. I know they're pretty popular around here!... I bought this ages ago, but so far have only had chance to use it at two gigs so far. My favourite sound that I've found is: Blend - Full Level - 3 o'clock Drive - Noon Attack switch - On Grunt switch - Fat When using it at home on my tiny home practice amp it's sounding great like this, but through my Mesa/Ampeg cab gig rig I seem to get a bass drop, or at least a feeling that I lose volume. Also tried changing level to full, but it's only just about right on this setting (surely it should have some headroom!?!...). A couple of questions for you guys who use them: - Have you experienced anything like this? - Is the pedal designed so that the blend shouldn't be on full, and is it likely that I'm experience the bass/volume drop because the blend is full up? - Does this sound like it could be a potential fault? As mentioned the tone's great, so I really can't think that there's anything drastically wrong with it! I've heard so much about the massive low end on this thing though that I can't help but be a little underwhelmed by how it's performing!... Please let me know if you can help. Alex

I've had GAS for the Neunaber Wet reverb for quite a while now! This guy does a pretty good demo of it.
The patch leads have changed since the last photo you posted Al I bet you can have a lot of fun with that board!
Yes they have Tom, and like you and Kev promised, the tonal change has certainly been palpable!... It is a lot of fun! I think once there's the addition of another dirtbox (made by a certain excellent UK pedalsmith! ) it will be complete... -

What about the bass version of Tom's (COG Effects) Darklighter overdrive?
