1. Ok thanks Owen, know what you mean about the killer tone stuff,i'm leaning towards the the tab v71 but only from what i've read..i suppose it's all trial and error and depending what you stick through them too, thanks though.
The harsh reality is that I don't know. I realise that I'm not selling it well based on your Q, but there is so much rubbish spoken on the WWW using words like "killer tone" etc that I am trying to avoid getting dragged into the hyperbole. I had a look at both the units you mentioned. The review on the REDDI seemed to point towards a sound character which helps everything sit very well in a mix with no further treatment. This is more about providing a full range sound with a sublte sheen to it. The Tab v71 looks to be modelled on Telefunken kit which is very sought after as well. I could not find any reviews. The Summit sounds as nice as my Demeter, but the Demeter has a parametric on it which I need for a Double Bass with a boomy Bb. If it was not for needing EQ then I would keep it and not have to lug a 19" rack around. I'm sure there must be forums around which would be able to give you more informed information.
2. Dont suppose you'd know how it compares to the a designs reddi or tab v71 by any chance?? Cheers Pete
Sorry, should have said that listings don't go live till 6pm on the 16th (today by now! I should be in bed)
10. That's great info. Thanks Rich. It was great to meet you the other day too.
 11. I wish i'd asked Rich (out to play jazz) what the woods were when he was here the other day..i'd guess at the neck headstock being maple if that helps. Feel free to come an see it.
Okay thanks anyway looks like a nice bass anyhow
12. Thanks Nick. Still available.
Allo! First you've got a 4 way rotary selector switch with LED indication - you've got an off position, rear pickup only, both p/ups on, front pickup only. The two chrome knobs are notched master volume and passive treble, the mini toggle is the Active EQ on/off switch -which brings the EQ into play; the three abalone-topped black knobs are bass, middle and treble (all centre detented with cut/boost). The XLR does not act as a DI out - its just a more secure method of plugging in!
13.
Presumably that quote didn't involve replacing the front facing and refinishing the entire bass?
No i doubt it,just localised tidying up i'd assume at that price .But if you know anywhere that does a complete refin at that price let me know.
 14. Still available.Apparently Jaydee will fix up the damage by the jack socket for around £65
 15. Hi. I've weighed the bass and it's just under 10. I made it about 9.7
 16. Yeah they did a few (but not many)without the paddle headstock,i had a pro2e like that. You also see some customs with pro bass written on headstock too. If memory serves ,the Pro2e's were actually more expensive than the Custom model when the Customs were first introduced. Pete
I agree. A black MkI. I've never seen a Pro without a paddle headstock. Every body Wang Chung tonight!
17.
. will trade you for a wal!!
Much as i like you,i'm just Looking for the "eff off" smiley
 18. Looks a good buy, would be after them myself if i could shift some stuff
 19. No nothing written in it.Would guess built between 1920's-1960's but is only a guess.Laminated i think.Top and back are curved, soz if not much help.More pics here if it helps
Is it a laminated bass, or solid timber? Are there any makers names inside, country of origin, or date?
