4.
In the 70's my band at the time supported Medicine Head at Liverpool University. More recently Dave Finnegan (Mickah Wallace in The Commitments) occasionally gets up and sings with us. *Edit* Nearly forgot - the landlord of one of our regular gigs gets up and beats the skins when we can't fight him off - he was the drummer in Pinkerton's Assorted Colours who were kinda well known in the 60s.
Thats Spooky Alan, The band I was playing with in the late 60's did Liverpool Uni supporting Pink Floyd and Traffic, (playing guitar then though). Also supported The Who in the same era and Johhny Johnson & The Bandwagon. Also backed Edwin Starr on one gig.
 5. I play in 2 bands and the Corporate one is now increasingly being asked for PAT Testing Certificates and Public Liability Insurance. Anyone else having the same issues? The Pub Band don't seem to have the same problem, (but as all my gear has been PAT tested it isn't a problem anyway). Would it be an idea for a pinned topic with a list of testers in areas around UK as I have a feeling it WILL end up being mandatory at some point? We had a hell of a job finding someone to our gear as most companies deal with large institutions and not a 5 piece band.
 6.
I was informed of this place by BassBunny, to whom I am very grateful! He spotted my Fender MIM Jazz 5 on ebay and mentioned that this would be the best place to advertise it! You can see the bass at the below link. It went unsold on ebay. If anyone in interested then please contact me and I would be more than happy to provide pictures of the bass and any info I can. Cheers http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...DME:X:RTQ:UK:11
Thanks for the plug G. Hope you get a sale. Have a Bump on me.
 7.
I've been tempted by this bass before - the odds of it coming up for sale again on the day I decide I need another bass (I had just been scanning ebay for any status/MM bargains minutes before Gary put the ad on here). To say I'm looking forward to it arriving would be an understatement :-)
Good Luck with it. If it plays as well as it looks it's a bargain.

 14.
That's a really neat job. I like the way you've got the grille mounted at the front of the cab - how did you attach it to the sloping horn?
+1 for the Front Mounted Grill. IMHO it makes it look a lot more professional. Also where did you get the handles from? Ah well better get going on mine
stu. top right below new topic button is options, click on that and see if it's set as 'standard' display mode. think that may be the problem...
Bazzin. 18.
We have now switched over to the new Basschat skin. It has been tested on IE 6/7, Firefox, Safari and Camino. Please reply here or PM phatmonkey if you have any feedback/problems or find any bugs, especially if you are using a browser we haven't tested. Thanks!
Great new skin. Gives the site a "class" feel. I am encountering a weird "feature" though. I have 2 PC's. The 1 running IE7 is fine in that when I select a topic, all posts are visible and more to the poiint readable underneath. With the PC running IE6, all the post appear as a file structure and I have to "click" on each individual post to read it. Any ideas, Stuart
 19.
This cab was made by a friend of mine here in Norwich under his own brand of ELK. The speakers are Celestion as he is a distributor. I believe the power handling is 300 Watts 8 Ohms. I used to run this with another 15" cab as a mini stack but sold the 15" years ago. The cab is carpet covered with recessed handles. Sounds great on its own or paired with a 15". I bought this off of a friend of mine and played a couple of gigs with it but it has been stored under the stairs in my hallway since I moved house 2 years ago. Really need to shift it as the Mrs is looking for more space to store her growing shoe collection. £100
Could you let me know the dimensions and is it particularly heavy? Cheers, Stuart

 24. Interesting debate and as an "ex-guitarist", I have no desire to go back. Bass is the best job in the house and coupled with a good drummer, is a dynamite combination. I had an comment from a punter at a gig last week about just that. The guitarists had both turned the volume up and the Drummer and I carried on with our job of providing a really solid groove throughout. This guy noticed it and said it kept everything together. That is what the audience starts tapping their feet to, not a Steve Vai solo. Try imagining virtually any song without the Bass line and it falls flat. Yep, best job in the house.
