1.
I love this era of Coltrane, and I will put my headphones on and have a listen later on. Unfortunately, I feel disinclined to discuss it due to the massive p*ssing contest which appears to be going on. Can we start this thread again please? This kind of pointless argument puts me off sharing and discussing music. This cannot be a good thing.
+1
2.
Again, thanks to all for offers of help. I don't actually know where mojobass is based. He didn't tell me, and it wasn't in his sig or his posting details.
Perhaps some members who are in his 'Feedback' can remember where he posted from or where they posted to, depending on whether they bought or sold? Might be worth PM'img some of them?
3.
On the other hand, he's maybe just not very good at expressing himself in text and is so afraid of timewasters he's overdoing the seriousness.
+1 Why so loftily judged?
4.
True. I don't really like this idea that Basschat should always offer mates' rates.
It's a market. I agree.
5.
Hmmm... This could cause confusion to the ostlers amongst us. Check first that the horses are, if fact, tethered (or not, as the case may be...). The secret hand-shake should be OK, though, albeit embarrasing for the ladies...
Ostlers - nice word
6. A coded BCer sentence by way of introduction perhaps: "The horses are tethered sire"
7. IMO it shouldn't take that long - if the seller sold it on the basis it was available on payment then that's plenty of time to get it packaged and sent. I'd say contact a mod you've been more more than patient
8. Those Amongst Us Are Wolves' new track 'The Speed Of A Life' https://soundcloud.com/thoseamongstusarewolves

10. Got any links from your band Cyrene?
11. Cheers Rev
12. Love Rothko - good call.
13. It also needs to be as pretentious as possible. Pretentiousness goes a long way in post-rock.
14. I play with Those Amongst Us Are Wolves - see sig below and FB link for pics. We are billed as post rock, but gives us licence to really do whatever sits. Bass wise, not really many chances to 'sit in the pocket' - building patterns is how I think of it, and providing connective melodic tissue from the drums to the rest - we are guitar, keys, drums and bass. Link here to two tracks from our fothcoming ep https://soundcloud.com/thoseamongstusarewolves
15. Didst thou ever play, on your bass lute, "You're once , twice, three timess a Lady (Macbeth)?"
16. I've worked in the arts all my life and (some) musicians really are the biggest snobs
17.
This post will no doubt piss people off, but I gather Peter Hook is doing a masterclass at the Bass Guitar Show. A masterclass? He seems a very average player who happened to be in A successful band. Am I missing something?
Pete, chill - he has played a part in creating music that has been meaningful to a legion of people - creativity, or perhaps voice, always counts more, in my book, than the generics of technique. For certain, that's an interesting masterclass.
18. yes can see that - guess the generic descriptions threw me, and I neglected my Sherlockian powers of observation!!
19. Feels a bit dodge?
