Why limit yourself to covering other 3 piece bands? My covers band is fundamentally three piece (3 instruments plus a vocalist) and we play lots of different stuff, just means you get to have a bit more fun with your various parts!.......not overplay, but cover some more sonic space! Si

Yup, if I've said it once, I've said it a million times, my US 4 standard is amazing, never played a better bass! So I'm hoping that the newer US standard 5's are as good with an extra string Si

I have the Squier CV Jazz and the body is same shape/size as my MIA Jazz! In fact, apart from the pickups/sound and the lack of through body stringing, I'd say it's as good! I do also prefer the size of frets on the MIA.....but my point is that the Squier CV's are ace Si

Very cool, my personal preference on this bass would be to replace the black tuners with chrome ones, not because I dislike black hardware, but just to match the bridge and knobs etc. But other than that, looks really great. I've put together two parts basses, one is in the hands of Mythste now, and the other has been toured and gigged extensively and is just awaiting the neck repair back from Jon Shuker. I found both basses really enjoyable to put together, especially when a lot of the parts come from guys on the forum....kinda makes it feel like a group effort using my money haha. Si

Cheers for that ebay link, although I think there's a little bit too much going against it for me. For me it would need a refinish, and that bumps it up to normal prices, and the 5 in a line is putting me off. Then newer 4-1 looks much nicer! I've owned a Deluxe 4 before but really disliked the preamp......and since then have disliked most preamps I've tried haha. I'm very much a passive kinda guy, so will stick with the standards for now Si

Has anyone out there got an American Fender Jazz 5 Standard that they could give their opinions on please. Sound, if you're also the owner of a MIA standard 4, how does it compare? Pics are obviously always welcome, and and decent sound clips perhaps! Cheers Si

My MIA that I spoke of is through-body, and obviously all BAII's are top loaded. I would suggest that they are comparable solutions, and it's the top loaded 'BBOT' bridges that people are specifically at odds with! Si
