  1. A newsletter from On-U Sound yesterday made me aware of Creation Rebel. So I've been listening to them:
  2. Back at the beginning of 1983, I was a little 10 year old, and a friend of the family gave me and my sister a cassette that we listened to endlessly. This morning the memory of this tape popped into my head, so this morning I'm revisiting it. Side A: Side B:
  3. could be an IGB-30 from mid 2000s, this shot is from the 2007 catalogue MBL is Metallic Blue
  4. And we wouldn't have had this classic Snuff track!
  5. Guessing that it's a hidden note incase the bass got stolen.
  6. Looks dodgy: No contact details Site says they were established in 1992, yet only set up an website in 2020 (according to whois). An awfully long time to not have a website. 2 testimonials that are copied from an old version of Bass Direct (image from Wayback Machine) almost gibberish content in panels with no link to products. "The Latest Technology During development we listened to vintage recordings and current bass lines so as to produce a pedal that is equally good for players of all genres. The pedal compliments a Höfner bass giving sounds like the fuzzy bass of “Think for Yourself”, while with a modern bass guitar it sounds like a stoner bass of the 1990’s." I would avoid that site like the plague!!
  7. More... Korea's Slant this time, but the lyrics are in English:
  8. Some female lead, non English (Jalang do have some songs in English, but mainly Bahasa Indonesian) punk/hardcore stuff. All bloody excellent. Taqbir in particular are incredible live!
  9. I guess this is the only band I'll be listening to today...
  10. I've used just a little dab of PVA before for that purpose
  11. The Who and Pink Floyd are just too tedious, for me, to listen to these days.
  12. I've never heard a digital overdrive/distortion/fuzz pedal I've liked. Nor modulation, come to think of it.
  13. It’s been too long since I last listened to them:
  14. As @Passinwind says the larger size SMD stuff isn't too hard. My method is to add some solder to one pad, let it cool. Using tweezers hold the component in place on the soldered pad and reheat the solder. Once that's done and cool you can do the other pad. ICs are a little trickier but a similar method. I have a hot air soldering station, but only used that for removing components at the moment. I have a ridiculous modular synth project I've been putting off for years. I'm going to attempt that over the winter.
  15. Link doesn't work but: https://www.ibanez.com/eu/products/detail/sdgb1_1p_01.html That's a fine looking bass for an awesome player...
