1. This is a lovely bass to play. The neck is fab.
2. Hi Up for sale is a lovely 1992 Fender USA Jazz Longhorn. This has the extra couple of frets and an extended upper horn. The neck has a rosewood fretboard and is a joy to play and the sound is what you'd expect from a USA jazz. All the tones are there. Just fab. In a previous life it has had a ding on the top of the upper horn and been cleaned up.This is not visible from the front. See my crappy picture. It comes with the original Fender hard case with case candy. Still solid but showing a few rust spots on the locks. £560 Would prefer to meet up with buyer but willing to post for £25. May be interested in a trade for a Fender USA Precision. 3. Aphex Bass Xciter Model 1402 This is great for enhancing your bottom end and adding some clarity at the top. Has a few signs of use but in very good condition and working order. Here's the manual http://www.aphex.com...es_user_man.pdf £65 delivered (also got a Tascam Bass Trainer for sale on the "Other musically related stuff" page
4. Tascam CD-BT1 Portable CD Bass Trainer This is a really useful bit of kit. You can use it to play along to your fave tunes from a CD or any line-in from an mp3 player etc . You can make the bass on the track you’re listening to disappear so you play the bass part or you can enhance the bass to help pick out the notes. To help learn a riff you can use the loop function to repeat a section and you can slow the track down without affecting the pitch. And the great function is you can change the pitch so you can learn a song in a different key. It has the facility to play with headphones or into an aux input as well as an amp output. I have the Owners Manual £45 delivered
5. I've realised that in the last 3 years in persuit of "the sound" I've bought and sold or traded Ashdown, EBS, Markbass, SWR 350, another Ashdown, Genz Benz shuttle, SWR WorkingPRO 400 and finally TC Electronic RH450. But my conclusion is that every room is different, you can quickly set up the sound before a gig and if its a small pub and you're next to the drums and keys your ears go after 4 songs. Then any further twiddling can make it much worse. At a big gig, it doesn't matter as long as you can hear yourself cos the sound guy is going to take control of what the crowd hears anyway. I try to stick to bridge pick-up on full, tiny bit of neck pickup and lots of bass on the amp and take out some of the middle.
6. Actually, I really like the colour. The more I see it, the more I love it. Its a classic colour. and its a joy to play. The reason for the sale is that my computer is on its last legs and a new one will have to be bought. I'm pretty sorted with my regular gigging bass as my Matt Pulcinella Level 4 with the occasional outing for my USA Jazz. So something else has to go. The only problem is I have major G.A.S. and looking on Basschat, there are always some tasty looking basses. So a trade for the Elwood is always a possibility.
7. Sorted out the photos and added the Elwood website link
8. Hi everyone in Basschatland Here is a fantastic Marusczyk Elwood Custom Bass. It was a grands worth of bass when commissioned in 2011. I recently aquired it in a trade with another basschatee but need to sell. This is a beautiful, well made instrument. It has a 32" scale maple fretboard. Loaded with Delano pickups Glockenkland pre-amp with vol / pan /bass /treble and a pull on the volume pot turns it passive. Pink body and matching headstock with a white perloid scratchplate. This bass comes with a Marusczyk compfy strap with straplocks and a fancy custom black gig-bag. Light weight, comfortable to play with a lovely fast neck. Priced to sell at £650 The bass is in Malvern. Happy to meet up half way within reason. Not sure if these pix will work but here goes http://s1281.beta.ph...html?sort=3&o=4 http://s1281.beta.ph...html?sort=3&o=2 http://s1281.beta.ph...html?sort=3&o=0 Check out the website. 9. Now traded. Many thanks for all the interest.
10. checked out the serial number. Its a 1994 - 95 model
11. Yes it plays really well. just put a set of Rotosound roundwounds standard guage on and it sings. I tried one in a shop and thought it was fantastic so I bought one second hand. The neck is better than my American standard Jazz. Now I have 6 basses and realised I can only play one at a time! My gigging bass is usually a Matt Pulcinella Level 4.
12. Thanks mate Managed to upload something from Photobucket.
13. Fender Jazz Geddy Lee bass Crafted in Japan Black body, white scratchplate. Bought this second hand a few months ago during a G.A.S. attack. Its a wonderful bass to play. The neck on these feels great. Thinner than my American Standard Jazz. and maple fretboard with the black block inlays looks so cool The pick-ups sound a bit meatier than a standard jazz so theres a big range of tones to dial up. Theres also the usual Badass bridge. The previous owner has added a couple of small dings to the bottom side edge of the body but nothing too dramatic. It comes with the Fender padded gig-bag. I notice the new ones in the shop are now made in Mexico. This is one of the earlier Crafted in Japan models. £470 I'm in Malvern, Worcestershire. http://s1281.beta.ph...ish999/library/ Pix will be added when I can get the upload to work. I'm also selling a fab SWR Workingpro 400 on the Amps forum
