I agree, it's a beautiful bass (I used to own one, called 'Sid') and I really don't think price is the issue, Karl. It's the time of year and more than likely exacerbated by fears over CoL, upcoming bills etc.
In short, it's a fab bass and will sell. I just think you may have to be a little more patient than normal. Same applies to me with my items for sale!
Unlike you Clarky I don't have the life expectancy for patience 😆

I was keen on this one but the seller never bothered to answer my question on neck dimensions.
Great score NikNik, his work is indeed something to behold, that is fabulous.
I keep thinking of asking him to do me a Sea Foam Green 4000 with gold hardware & 'plate, but I keep bottling it.

Seems reasonably priced to me at £850. @thebrig has an ad for one of these in the Wanted section.
Thanks Pete, much appreciated. Brian is aware 🙂

I've done some more research on these.
It appears there are 2 other PB70 US for sale in the UK although I'm not sure if they are PB70-70US or PB70-78US.
Both are at FenderFever, both out at £1295 + shipping.
One of the 2012 export block fretboards (originally £500 new) recently sold on Feebay at £950.In America, one the same as mine sold in Sept 21 for $1000.
There is currently one up at $1595.Whilst none of this guarantees a price, with them being officially non export & apparently discontinued, the ravages of VAT, import duties & shipping may make them increasingly difficult to find.
I'm leaving this up at this price until Sunday evening (15/1/23).After that, it will be removed & will reappear later this year at a minimum of £1000.
Cheers,
Karl. -
Neil bailed me out with a missing part for a Rick.
Purchased Monday night, arrived Wednesday morning, superb!!!!!
He was an absolute joy to deal with, fully recommended.
Thanks for everything Neil,
cheers.

The discontinued CIJ 70s P reissue (PB70-US) is definitely a 40mm nut.
The PB70-70US & PB70-78US are both 40mm nut width. Mainly non-export but there are a decent number in the UK, popular for individuals & small guitar traders to import but VAT, import & shipping are becoming increasingly prohibitive.
PB70 -70US = Precision Bass 70's style 70,000 Yen new, US pickups
PB70-78US = Precision Bass 70's style 78,000 Yen new, US pickups (pic below)

Surprisingly little realistic interest in this splendid bass despite some similarities to the Mexico Nate Mendel.
I'll give it another week then put it away for a year or two,
cheers,
Karl.

This with an Orange Little Bass Thing would be a destroyer of worlds.
Superb cabs.

As ever the "it's only worth £400" crowd are out (admittedly mainly on Faecesbook).
This place appears to think differently.

Jason has just bought an amp from me.
He was decisive & super quick to stump up. Comms were terrific, including letting me know (very quickly) that he had received it safe & sound.
On top of this he was a delight to chat with.
Yet another fantastic ambassador for Basschat.
Fully recommended & thanks for making it very easy Jason,
all the very best.

Price is for a cash sale, trade value is higher.
Neck on this is very "Nate Mendel", 40mm nut, fast & slim, TV Logo.
US pickups, alder body, maple neck, rosewood board, 8lb 14oz.
I also have the "tug bar" finger rest from the E side but it got in my way hence removal.
Non export model. There are always a few in the UK but VAT, import duty & shipping are getting really prohibitive now.
It's a bit Sid (for those of an age).
Slight crack to paint (2mm) on body next to neck. Common on basses where the neck needs loosening to adjust truss rod. Usually caused by somebody tightening up a neck screw too much. Not me (although I have been guilty in the past).
One chip and a few dimples at the back end of the bass. Please bear in mind 17 years old & it has been gigged.
If you search, there are a couple of these for sale, prices between £750 & over £1300.
Thanks for looking,
Karl

£300 collected Darlington
£335 insured delivered mainland UK.
As new.
I won this in a competition, I was both astonished & delighted.
Gigged it last night, I now remember why I don't use compression & semi - parametric mids. The family brain cell couldn't cope.
I was a bit gutted because it's lighter & takes up less space than my Orange Bass Terror Mk 11.
Back to the OBT Mk 11 tonight
The Bass Terror is loud. This is LOUDER. Potentially very loud!
No offers thank you, they are £449 new & this is actually as good as new.
It will be up for 2 weeks, if it doesn't go, I'll reluctantly sell the OBT & make this work for me.
Have a great New Year all.

Fender Deluxe Precision Bass Special 2018 active/passive
Current model (Player Plus) sells at around £1100.
My price is about what some are asking for used Player Series, so this is a BARGAIN.
Saving up for (another) Rickenbacker.Superb condition pretty much as new. Very well set up..
Jazz neck profile. 12 inch radius, very fast neck.
Contoured neck heel (like American Ultra & Pro 11).
Raised poles on Jazz pickup, A & D strings, to follow radius.
The sunburst finish is really top quality. The 3 band eq provides a wide range of tones and it can be played in either passive or active modes using the micro switch.
Weight is 9lb.Collection from Darlington is much preferred, hence the low price for a bass of this quality. I may do a meet up,
Extra £50 for insured mainland UK courier
thanks for looking.

The blend dial on these OB1's is a thing of pure sorcery.
When I had the 500 it could destroy worlds (yes, exaggerating, but not by much!).
Good luck.

I have very recently bought a bass from these chaps.
Will was brilliant to deal with. The bass arrived very quickly, within 48 hours of purchase. That is amazing considering couriers/post/weather at this moment.
It was superbly packaged. On opening it, the bass was exactly as per photos.
Intonation was spot on as was action, neck relief & pickup heights. The bass has been very well cleaned, it was superbly presented.
FULLY RECOMMENDED PEEPS, buy with utmost confidence.
Cheers Will, I have no doubt I will be back to pester you again

Bit late to see this. 2 X OBC 112's are more than enough for any pub/club gig I do.
I've never needed the gain or master past noon even in the bigger clubs (OBT Mark 11).
Superb modular rig, very light, sounds wonderful.

Bizarre.
People are asking this much for bog standard Player Series & these things are so much more.
They are called Deluxe for a reason.
I've decided to keep mine as there is no better Fender (imo) available for this kind of money. Especially P body Jazz neck.

Absolute gent to deal with.
Decisive, great comms, quick payment, patient with the current carnage that is UK deliveries, very pleasant to deal with.
Yet another great ambassador to our wonderful community.
Many thanks Nick, hope the young 'un enjoys it.

I think the original Rick versions were released as mirror versions (for right handers) of Macca's.
