1. I decided to try and part with my Epi EB0, which i bought new from a local shop less than 2 years ago. Reason is simply that it doesn't suit my playing style, even though i like the sound a lot. It's essentially as new, never gigged, only done a couple of practice sessions and home noodling. I lately put some flatwounds on it (D'addarios or rotosounds, can't remember now), and played it maybe 10 minutes since. I've seen them new for around 120 pounds, so maybe 80 pounds is a reasonable request? Shipping is likely to be around 20-30 pounds for UK, free within 30 miles of Edinburgh
2. 1) Do you welcome a bass specific shop in Scotland Yes it would be great 2) What would you like to see in stock Uncommon and interesting basses and amplification, plenty S/H, spares and parts in general, wider choice of strings makes, types and gauges. The idea of stocking some sample luthier instruments is great, being able to order through it even better. Oh and it would be grand if you did trade-ins. 3) Are you more likely to visit the shop or use our online service I would check online to see what's in, but I need to touch and feel any serious piece of kit i might buy. 4) Roughly how much do you spend on bass goods in a year 500-1k 5) Is this likely to increase if you had a bass shop you could visit? Unfortunately for me, yes... Can't wait for the shop to open...

FOOTSWITCH!!!!

Look on the Peavey forum, and just search for what you need. I have found schematics for a footswitch for my mark III bass head in about 30 secs.

7. My time warp rig, plus the hartke combo and a guitar amp
8. Schecter cv-4, made in korea about 2004. Active pre-amp, 4-strings, through-body stringing, a rather thin and fast maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, alder body, Duncan designed pickups, one Musicman-style humbucker at the bridge, one j-style closer the the neck. Extremely versatile, with 3-band eq on board, plus a "slap switch", which automatically scoop the mids and boost the bass, for a very fat and rich slapping sound. You can get truly good rock and funk sounds out of it. Conditions is almost as new. I've never gigged it, and only used for a few band practices. Otherwise kept in the house for home practice. Will take £170 shipped to most of uk, but mainly interested in trades or p/x.

Peavey gear

I've recently acquired a Peavey mark III 400 bass head from the late 70s, and a marshall 1550 cab to go with it. I tend to play my peavey t-40 with it. Time warp. As far from hi-fi as you can probably go, but loud, thumping and warm. Ideal for classic rock. Oh and about 30 years old, in what looks like original condition.
10. Italian manufacturers in the 60's applied the same finishing techniques and styles of accordions to guitars, resulting in this explosion of sparkle and mother-of-ashtray. And i love it. If anyone cares, the only things the text says that's not obvious from the pics is that "it is in perfect working order", "the sound is very powerful (strong output?)". The text next to the italian flag says that the make, Meazzi, was a well established maker in the north of italy (unlike Eko and the likes), and they produced all sorts of musical kit up until a few years ago. They also distributed imported brands. I remember seeing Meazzi guitars and amps in my formative years back in italy...
11. I've seen it, and i agree it looks like the pics you posted. Didn't want to try it in case I found it impossible to part with it. I believe you know the feeling... Live music is a very nice shop with very nice people, and often have unusual pieces for sale. I have bought quite a bit of kit from them.
12. Thanks for all your suggestions folks. I ended up buying the lot for 60 pounds, as the cab has some problems. The sound comes out very weak and distorted, nothing that a bit of solder won't fix, I think... Tried the amp through a marshall cab, definitely not a hi-fi amp, but that's not what i'm after. Two channels plus mixture of the two, plenty eq several other potentially useful switches and knobs, i'm happy. I'm picking it up tomorrow, and i'm thinking of maybe selling/giving away the cab right away, as i think it might be just too big for me. Not sure yet. Thanks again for your thoughts!
13.
The only reason I wouldn't consider one is the thought of trying to shift that 2x15 about.
That is also my concern. If the head is nice enough, I might keep it, sell/give away/dismantle/burn the cab and start looking for something like a lightweight 2x12 or so...
14. Hello folks, I'm looking to try and possibly buy this, what do you people think? I was looking for an alternative to my hartke kickback combo for larger (or louder) gigs, but i am worried that this might be too heavy to carry up a few flights of stairs... However, the price is tempting, and i think it would go really well with my recently-acquired-here T-40... Incidentally, if any of you recognises the cab, please let me know. Cheers, Marco
15. My only personal experience in mis-pricing on label was last year at gatwick airport, where i spotted a small laptop i've been looking up online for some time, priced at about 75% of its RRP (£211 vs £275 RRP). I quickly picked it up and broguht it to the till, where the guy told me that the total was the full £275. I told him that he had it labelled at £211, we went to the stand where the label was, checked serial numbers against the one i picked up, and agreed that that was indeed the advertised price for the item, and charged me accordingly. Obvious pricing mistake and a nice £64 pounds saved. I bet he would have been far less forthcoming, had price difference been a lot more substantial, such as is the case of the lovely P bass in question. Again, another anecdote that doesn't prove anything, but at least it's firsthand experience...
16. another 8 from me, bringing the total up to 1820
17.
Used to be a good place on the outskirts of Edinburger called The Spider's Web.
It's still there, I don't know if they still do live bands. It's rather central, fortunately
18. Try Studio24, haven't been there in quite some time, but they do have live metal and punk bands
19. Thank you all for your recommendations, with any luck the sun will shine and i will be too busy lazying about to even think about bass shopping
20. Hello Folks So i'll be in Miami for work and then holiday for a couple of weeks. It's the storm season, so i expect to have some time off from lying on the beach (tough, I know, but hey...), and was wondering if anyone knew of some interesting music gear shop in the area... I'm not looking to buy anything in particular, but you never know, with this weaker dollar an'all... Any recommendations welcome :-)
21. I agree, i've bought stuff from them, and regularly visit their shop to try out stuff. Very nice and helpful staff, good prices, pretty good selection of gear on display. Recommended
22. Orange tiny terror? Not very loud, but maybe enough?
23. According to their website , westfields are made in bonny east kilbride near glasgow. They also make sheridan, lauren and boston brands.
