  1. Mine certainly does not. I had this issue with an old TC Nova Dynamics pedal... when certain compression kicked in, a strange audible artefact could be heard. Nothing like that with the Keeley though. I've just given it a test under a microscope... nothing. Perfectly transparent. Got the gain cranked or anything?
  2. The DC7 is an utterly stunning power supply. At one point I was running 13 pedals from it and barely touching the 25% capacity light. I’ve used a lot of power supplies over the years, but CIOKS changes the game IMO.
  3. Okay. I’ve given it more thought! 1. Hologram Electronics Microcosm (it has multiple takes on the micro sampling delay idea, but I don’t consider it a multi-effects). 2. Moog Moogerfooger Cluster Flux. 3. WMD Geiger Counter Pro. 4. Dr Scientist Dusk. I own two, regret selling one and have played with and since long listed after the forth.
  4. Amazing pedal, especially as an end-of-signalchain limiter if you use a lot of pedals with variable output signals. It's a stunning approach to 'no fuss' compression.
  5. It's been nearly a month since I posted a pic of my board and I've not thought about buying another pedal once. I think this may be a new record!
  6. I tried... so hard... but I can't answer this question. it's just too hard.
  7. I am a ‘compression at the end’ person. I treat is very much as a limiter, to tame the peaks of more extreme effect combinations.
  8. It’s been a while since I posted, so this is a pretty big update to the board. Pedals listed in signal chain order for those that care… Input > Montreal Assembly PURPLL > Boss OC-5 Octave > Fuzzrocious Li’l Fella > Fuzzrocious M.O.T.H > Dr. Scientist Frazz Dazzler v2 > Fuzzrocious Croak > Red Panda Bitmap2 > Dr. Scientist Dusk (w/ Moog EP-3 Expression Pedal) > GFI System Synesthesia (w/ Triple Switch) > Hologram Electronics Microcosm > Source Audio Collider > Keeley Bassist Limiting Amplifier > TC Electronics Polytune Mini > Output Everything is cables with EBS gold flat patch cables, powered with a CIOKS DC7 + 8 Expander, and mounted to a PedalTrain Jr Max (a number of PT Pedal Boosters are mounted to the back row for accessibility). I also use another Moog EP-3 beside the board, which changes the pedal it’s controlling based on my mood: usually the Bitmap, Microcosm or PURPLL. I’m so in love with everything in this set up at the moment… that’s a great feeling
  9. My latest Kickstarter is now live. If you're interested in solo gaming, particularly in the horror genre, go take a peek -> https://bit.ly/RectifyRPG

  10. It's worth considering something like an SFX Micro Thumpinator after it - this will allow you to push the subs while also cutting the ultra lows that your cab can't reproduce. The result here will be that those super lows get removed and give the amp more headroom. This is particularly important as the Meatbox will push your amp to it's limits anyway.
  11. DOD Meatbox or Mantic Density Hulk is the pedal you are looking for. Be warned - most bass cabs don't handle subs like you think they will. The Meatbox has wrecked more speakers than you can imagine. Ideally you want to run these pedals via a DI straight into a venue's PA to drive their subwoofers. You can put them through your rig and feel the subs, but keep it dialled back... crank those 30hz and pay the price For a suitable half-way house, the Aguilar Octamizer is an octave pedal that has an EQ filter on it, meaning that it can roll our the higher more synthy octave tones and just keep the lows. It's not going to get you the Meatbox lows, but it will give you a more sub-like octave tone.
  12. Oh, I’m totally not comparing the two and there is little cross over. The Lil Fella came to fill another gap and is firmly replacing my MBD-2 as my low gain overdrive. The GNP is very rat-like, but it’s seemingly unhappy with my bass and it feels really lacking compared to my other drives. It’s just not for me.
  13. Mine arrived this afternoon and I’ve been hammering it out all afternoon. Honestly, I’m a bit disappointed. It’s not that it’s a bad pedal, but it doesn’t fit my set up at all and having it has made me realise how well I can nail those tones with other pedals. On the flip side, the Fuzzrocious Lil Fella also arrived with it and that’s absolutely blown me away. I think the Ground n Pound will be going back. It’s just not the right fit for me.
  14. Waiting for mine to arrive. No sign today - boo!
  15. I absolutely did not need a RAT-style distortion (in all honesty I don't, it's the dirt tone that least suits my ambient electronic tones), but DAMN I want this pedal and am sizing up what I should sell to make space on the board for it. I wish it had top jacks, but that's a minor comment. It sounds amazing.
  16. I've been a DC7 user for about 18 months now and it's been incredible. Running 14 pedals off it and only hitting 40% of usage. In order to do that, I obviously had to run some split cables and a daisy chain, but a couple of pedals introduced a touch of noise, as is very common with sharing power outlets/daisy chaining. I recently picked up the CIOKS 8 as an extender (it's powered off the output of the DC7) and thus giving me 15 isolated outputs. Performance has been flawless and it's easily the best power supply I've ever used.
  17. Industrial strength Velcro branded stuff, 2” wide, will stick bricks to the ceiling! Sometimes trying to get pedals off with that stuff requires your entire strength.
  18. I’m really good thanks! You? I was really sold on the marketing for the Temple stuff, and while the input/output modules etc are very very good (if not overpriced), the board itself ended up feeling like a faff. It’s surprising hard to get stuff to line up straight and though very secure, it’s just not as efficient as Velcro for changing pedals around IMO. I know they have a good following, but it didn’t work for me. I like the board design, but I’d still use Velcro on it. If your issue is the adhesive on the pedals (as I know you have some older, valuable pedals in your stock), the temple plates adhesive pads are just as bad. After a very expensive flirt with them, I went back to Pedaltrain. Though I dislike the cable tie solution from an aesthetics perspective, it is the best method for avoiding Velcro IMO. Temple boards are great for cable ties, as are Warwick Rockboards. Pedaltrains work, but only for vertical use of ties.
  19. Hey ped! I can confirm that the Temple option is unlikely to work. The plates don’t end up much thicker than two pieces (the hook and the loop together) of high quality Velcro. If you have really small rubber feet (the little domed ones) you can get away with it, but it’s still fiddly. I can’t confirm the Aclam option, but it doesn’t look like it would work. If you’re against Velcro, I’d suggest long cable ties as the easiest and cheapest fix for this (and one that will work with many board types).
  20. Great board. how are you finding the Tensor? It was high on my list until I got the Microcosm. I’m a huge fan of Red Panda stuff… so much creativity.
  21. Now-discontinued Fuzzrocious LunaReclipse. This is an amazing flexible overdrive/clipping pedal with a 12-way rotary switch and simple volume control. Really impressive bass response on almost all settings and some really quite lovely drive sounds. Pedal is in great condition and still boxed. I'm asking for £100 + £5 postage. Pedal is located in Derby, UK and collection is welcomed if you want to save on the postage. Link to the Fuzzrocious page detailing the various clipping options: https://fuzzrociouspedals.com/?product=lunareclipse Any questions, please ask!
