im not biased and i concur entirely!!

I'm thinking the same thing!!

+1,000,000
At least I'm not alone then! I've just read my way through the thread from the start and I can't believe this has all come on since May 16th! I love this instrument and I don't even have it yet! I've been through build processes before with different luthiers but this one is very special. Very special indeed. Shep -
Lol EDIT: I quite fancy a go on one but no idea where you'd find one. I saw a guy playing a 6 string bongo supporting Karnivool but to be honest I totally forgot about that band after Karnivool blew them away (and their bassist uses a 6 string thumb AFAIK).
That was Illuminatus And yes Karnivool are bloody awesome. Karnivool Bassist uses A Warwick Thumb NT 6 through Ampeg's with a rather elaborate effects set up… but the sound is a true monster.

Headstock doing an impression of the Robo-Centipede of Doom! :-) Now I may be slightly biased, but that looks frigging awesome. -
A friend of mine owns a 6 in an odd midnight blue colour. Sounds great, very versatile, I actually think they are the nicest and most rounded sounding of the Musicman range… but… Being a 6 player I know what I like and I find them horrid to play sitting (not a problem if you stand to rehearse and perform) and I also dislike the neck profile ALOT. I'm not sure what it is about it, I just find it a little primitive for a serious instrument… kinda like a baseball bat. Of course this is all subjective… my mate loves it so much he sold every other bass he owns! The bassist from Illuminatus also played one when I saw them live last and that sound was so huge I was almost sick :-) http://www.illuminatus.uk.com/

Bass Direct will ship to Ireland and his prices are very reasonable. Mark stocks a huge amount of high end equipment and is very helpful when it comes to finding the right thing for your requirements. Check them out… http://www.bassdirect.co.uk

Depends on the am and how it drives it power as far as I'm aware (correct me if I'm wrong). What amp are you looking at?

*SOLD* - TC Electronics BG500 210
pantherairsoft replied to pantherairsoft's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
Given a slight change of circumstance, and that there are a number of the items I'm interested in available to buy both here and on eBay I am going to also offer this for sale. Asking £475 collected from Nottingham. As this is not a light combo it will be both expensive and hard to accurately protect during shipping, as such I'd prefer not to, but will do so at buyers expense and risk. That's just short of £100 off new for a combo that has not left the room it was delivered to after arrival 3 months ago! Still very open to the trade options listed in the OP. -
-
I have a TC BG500 up at the mo and that will fill most venues without PA support it's a monster! There have been a number of Tecamp combo's in the same boat recently as well as a few high powered Trace combo's.

Where to source EBS 1x12 Neo drivers?
pantherairsoft replied to sockdeluxe_mikey's topic in Amps and Cabs
Bernie is the sole distributor of EBS gear in the UK. Bernie is your man. If you contact EBS direct, in most cases they will direct you to Bernie as well! -
EBS Neo 212. Best cab I've ever had, and ive had a few! Light, powerful, punchy and the best tweeter I've heard. Not cheap... But a worthwhile investment!
-
For a clean studio sound I go with either an EBS, TC or EA amp/combo. I find them the most neutral dousing an the easiest to get a good sharp recording from. Just me though There was a 12" EBS Drome combo in the for sale section that would of been perfect!
-
I run an EBS Neoline 115 (300w) with a Fafner, and have at times driven it pretty hard... Never once has the speaker sounded like it's struggling. Amps listed power ratings are rarely achieved. I'm pretty confident the can would be fine. Plus, this is a bargain for an amazing bit of pro kit! Someone needs to snap this up! The myth of 15's being all bottom is so wrong with the amazing horns on the EBS cabs. Turn the horn up, close your eyes and it could easily be a 410!

pantherairsoft replied to pantherairsoft's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
Agreed! Although I still hear tonal differences between the MBII and the 350… although now you mention it that could be cabs. My drummer actually doesn't like my Neoline cab sound unless I dial the Tweeter down completely… Drummers eh! :-) Think I'm pretty sold on actually getting he use of both my cabs again though and my 115 is perfect for what I'm doing. A trade for an amp head is defo the way forwards! Shep -
