  1. They might still take an order for one, but what would put me off would be the waiting period. The MK style is undoubtedly where its at for them as that's where the demand is.
  2. Why not contact them and enquire about a Celeste build?
  3. I have no idea how efficient the ebay portal may be, but I have always had prompt responses to enquiries over the years on ebay purchases. I take your point and will communicate directly with the dealer and see what is the outcome is
  4. The business I refer to is based in Germany and if it was not for Brexit, I would be sourcing the item in the UK. Over the years, I have had 100% satisfaction with UK businesses in terms of communication, VFM, etc. The item i am in the market costs a significant sum of money, and the questions asked of them are far from rocket science. If they are up to their eyeballs, the least they could do is convey that to potential customers like me, with an automatic response that my query will be dealt with in due course. That does not even require the press of a button. First impressions can be everything to potential customers.
  5. +1. I am currently in the market for a piece of hifi and asked the supplier some questions via ebay regarding the item. Days have gone by and by not replying, they have lost the sale. It gives me a taste as to how issues might be resolved, or indeed not, should there be concerns about the item going forward.
  6. Indeed it would appear that Jaydee have become less diverse in recent years, with Calibas and Celeste models which offered 5 and 6 string options, no longer advertised on their website. Guess that is not where the typical Jaydee customer wants to go.
  7. MK only mimes with a 5😁. A four is where its at when it comes to MK and Jaydee.
  8. When I think of 5 and 6 string, Jaydee don't register. Their focus I reckon is on 4 string basses. If 4 is good enough for MK.....
  9. He has been around the block with a choice of basses over the years and now that he has landed back with Jaydee and it is a massive endorsement for a top class Instrument. IMO, the Roadie Active 2 is the sweet spot and I preferred it over a mates MK Supernatural back in the 80's. The VFM factor on the Roadie is incredible and comes in under the price of many mass produced instruments. Yep there is a waiting list, but well worth waiting for IMO.
  10. I retired from playing 3 years ago and sold everything except my CN212, just in case there is an outside chance of going back into the trenches. Outstanding cab.
  11. Of course it is well known that there were differences and tensions between Gimour and Waters before '85. Indeed like many other bands these tensions, arguments etc can be used to advantage within the creative process. However it was after Waters leaving in 85' that these differences became public and irreconcilable, and reached a new level with Waters taking legal action (something he now regrets).
  12. I am well aware that it is a remix , not creativity and never suggested it was. I simply said that Floyd's output was fractured by Waters and Gilmours wrangling. It started after Waters left the band in 1985 and continue to this day, which almost resulted in the remix not being released. Seemingly it took them years to agree on the liner notes. Why? Because Gilmour said Floyd were finished after Wrights passing. Is it remotely possible that Gilmour and Waters could mend their ways and return as Pink Floyd, with a new album? I doubt it, but pigs might fly
  13. Floyd's output was fractured by the ongoing problems and legal wrangling between Gilmour and Waters, after Waters left the band. Indeed such issues delayed the release of the 2018 Animals remix until now. It very nearly did not see the light of day. Wright's passing in 2008 essentially ended the notion of Floyd recording more material. Therefore their rich collective creativity is encapsulated in their back catalogue, though both Gilmour and Waters as successful individual artists, have continued to keep their creative juices flowing with recording and touring.
  14. In general I am with you in terms of liking the versions of albums I am most familiar with, together with having reservations about older albums getting the re-mastering/remixing treatment and being re-released in numerous formats and box sets. Most recently Rory Gallagher' back catalogue is getting this treatment and I wonder would Rory approve of this. I think that certainly in Floyd's case, they can never be accused of a lack of creativity, indeed on the contrary.
  15. Same as, listening with speakers. I think its fair to say that it is sonic improvement over the original and allows for release of the album in various formats, thereby generating a tidy turnover. It can be argued ' Wish you were here ' and 'Dark Side of the Moon' might benefit from a similar remix and re-release. Selfish of me, but I hope they leave well enough alone.
  16. I have listened to it again but not feeling it. It has more of a 3d soundstage which some might see as sonically better, but as I am so used of the original mix, feel it is exagerated. I see it is available on hi res download, so that might be the way to go.
  17. Maybe its the many years of listening to it that has baked the original mix into my head and hence the alternative just does not sound right to my ears. It's as if the essence of the recording has changed with the remix. In fairness I will probably buy the remix on CD and compare, as opposed to the Tidal stream, but would be surprised if that would change my mind.
  18. Gilmour played the bass on pigs x 3. I have been streaming the 2018 remix from Tidal, but prefer the 2011 remaster streamed from my Innuos server.
  19. A great Show. The Pretenders sounded great, McCartney looks and sounds incredible considering his age and The Foo's delivered an emotionally charged set. Great to see Lee and Lifeson on Stage together, though Hakim was not that convincing for their set IMO ( Not a criticism, as no one could replace Peart). Terrific to see Rock music be the order of the day. No decks, backing tracks, and best of all no Bono.
  20. Thanks Niall. Likewise, you were a gentleman to deal with. Delighted that it meets your expectations.
  21. Some years ago I phoned them ready to pull the trigger on a rather expensive but well reviewed amp and cap, with credit card in hand. Not sure who I was talking to, but they enquired as to my go to bass and promptly tried to convince me that it was rubbish (a boutique £4.5k bass that I loved) and needed replacing. I brought my business elsewhere
