Peg

Recorded last October at The Stables in Milton keynes.
7. I haven't bought Bass Player magazine for months, due to it's dwindling pages, heavy advertising, and bands/players I've never heard of. I saw the latest issue, featuring an interview with Mark King, and thought what the hell. TBH it's much better, with smaller informative articles dotted about. In fact, I think they may have taken a leaf out of BGM's style. Check it out at the news stand first, but I think they're on the way back.
8. Great to see this thread still going. Here's a Marcus-penned Sanborn tune. Could only find a live version, but I recommend the studio original. Simple but fantastic bass line. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkjoX1uBL6Q
9. The bass sound is super loud. Not that I'm complaining.
10. Most higher end 5s are active. Maybe a Fender US model?
11. Might know someone. I'll call him.
12.
Probably listed here - http://www.jamirotalk.net/interviews/paul.html
Thanks for that. This is what he says: "My gig pedals include a 70s Mutron, 70s Bass Balls, EH Micro Synth, Boss Octave, Bass Flanger, MXR Driver and Auto Q."
13. I think Markbass and EBS do.
14. Anyone know what filter/synth pedal Paul is using on 'Little L'?
15.
You know, its the public that attend gigs that thould have public liability insurance, they are always pissed and falling over all your stuff ! and the venues too. they have other types of insurance.
The old 'fall backwards over the front monitor' move.
16. I agree PLI is a pain. When I worked for an agency, most of the hotel venues required it. MU is an option, as you also get £1000 worth of gear insurance thrown in.
17. Paul Turner is a great player.
18. Getting rid of a mate shocks deep...awful if you go back a long way. Sometimes it's better to disband and start again.
19. Thanks for posting this. It's brilliant.
20. There is definitely a MB service centre, as I sent my LMK there. The address can be found on the Proel UK website or by calling them. They may be a tad expensive, as Dodgnofski found out, forcing him to send his F1 to MB in Italy. The chap to speak to is Alberto. Any probs, give me a shout and I can get contact details.
21. I adore Wet Sloths. Has anyone heard them?
22. www.alivenetwork.com has a list of similar bands. You might get an idea from looking at existing band names. Meanwhile, how about The Cheesemongers?
23. I've just watched the first DVD of this concert. It's amazing. Great quality. The playing and vocals are sublime. Bluey must be so proud.
24.
Continuing one of the best threads on Basschat, here's a funky groove for Saturday afternoon. Featuring M King on bass and the ridiculously tight Charlie Morgan on drums (...well, he never bought me a drink, anyway!! ) I always liked how the chord sequence works in this one too. Nik Kershaw - Easy
I'd forgotten how good this was. Great choice.
