The X3 uses the old PODxt model set, so theoretically, could sound somewhat dated, where the Valeton is a more recent product. TBH, it may be worth looking at either the Zoom B3n/B6 or the POD Go. But, as usual, it depends on your budget.

Sounds like you need to vote with your feet on that band. The other band sounds far more interesting. Are you still friendly with the drummer that left? Maybe get in touch with them, and get something else going.

Yup, spent far too much time in my youth browsing in Curly's, Hessey's & Rushies in the 80's & 90's. There used to be a great shop on Wavertree Road and off Hamilton Square in Birkenhead. Both long gone though. Night life & gigs used to be good too. There were some great rehearsal rooms too, Vulcan out by the docks (still going AFAIK), Crash off Dale Street, and a place near Sandhills Station under the railway arches (can't recall the name though). Haven't been round there for 20-odd years.

Been using the old style Schaller strap locks for years. Always found them to be trusty & dependable. Tried Dunlop's a few times, and never really got on with them. The rubber washers seem like a good idea, seen loads of people using them and depend on them.
