1. Thanks for all your suggestions, I am noticing an alcohol theme in this thread and I like it alot! Plenty to consider here, much appreciated.
2. Having managed to stay employed with the same company for the last ten years , I qualify for the 10 year £150 gift. In terms of bass related gear, what would you spend £150 on?

4. I have a Geddy Lee Jazz which has been fitted with roundwounds since I have had it. I want to give it a setup and new strings, my question is does anybody have any particular recommendations for suitable strings? Cheers
5. I am selling my Dean Jeff Berlin Basic Bass, I bought roughly one year ago from BassMerchant in Colchester. It is a great little bass, I chose it for the dimensions, I had previously used a shortscale (Squier Bronco) and chose this because the bridge is set lower in the body making the neck seem a little bit shorter than ordinary full size basses. Dean Website info here I have only used this bass in my spare room (I only ever play with myself ) it is in excellent condition, no dints, bumps or bucklerash. Reason for sale is that I have just purchased a Sterling Ray34 and I dont see myself using anything else for a while, my rampant GAS is under control! This bass is for sale at £250 delivered £230 picked-up. Struggling to find a price to suit you guys so stuck this on eBay Thanks
6. I have my Bass Pod XT Live For Sale. I bought it last year when I was looking for a wah pedal, my thinking was why not spend a bit more and get all the other lovely effects as well. However I have since found that as nice as it is having all the effects I am still only using the auto wah, so it might as well go, saving me some floor space and getting me some more GAS tokens. smile.gif The unit has only been used infrequently and only in my spare room it is in excellent condition, controls show none of the usual wear and tear. I have all the paperwork, box and packaging, so it will arrive to you as new. If you are looking to buy the price is £150 delivered, £140 pickup SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD
7.
Mine is also like that.
So I should assume that this is a feature and not something that needs changing?
8. I have just bought a Ray34, I am really pleased with it, however I have one question: The nut doesnt sit flat on mine, the E string side seems a couple of mill higher than the G. This makes the E string sit higher than the other strings I have adjusted the action on that string and it now seems fine. From what I can see the nut on mine looks similar to the OP's, almost a wedge shape is this normal? Apologies for the hijack and also if the question is a bit daft.
9. Price drop to £370 bump If nothing happens this time I am putting it in the loft.

12. The first bass I bought was the Dean Jeff Berlin Basic Bass, I really like it, it feels very confortable to play. One thing I noticed is that although it is a full scale bass it is a good couple of inches shorter than a Fender Jazz or Precision. The last bass I bought was a Yamaha RBX A2 from Redstriper on this forum, again a great bass but similar in size and proportion to the Dean. Do basses of this size have a name, are they recognised as a seperate sized bass? If not do you know of any other manufacturers that produce basses to a similar size?
13. I recently purchased Steve's Yamaha RBX A2 bass. I am very pleased with the bass, it is in excellent condition, better than described! It arrived in double quick time, I paid for it Wednesday night and it arrived Friday lunchtime, very well packed too. This was a great transaction for me, Steve is a great guy to deal with, buy with confidence.
14.
Shame i have just left holbrook near ipswich a few months ago,i was just starting to tutor, blame my ex mrs
That would have been ideal, could have had a pint in the Compasses afterwards
15.
Nice bass - been looking for one for a while. Would you take £350 inc. delivery? Steve
Thanks for the offer Steve, looking for more than that though.
16. Hello, I a based in Ipswich and I am looking for lessons, does anybody have any recommendations for tutors in the area? Thanks
17. The bass is still available.
18. Mark brought my Gibson SG bass, he was very easy to deal with, he auditioned the bass at my my house and bought it there and then. Nice guy, made a change to have somebody playing bass in my house that knows what they are doing. Thanks
19. Looks like the new world record attempt has failed at 18 days. After starting this thread yesterday, I phoned BassCentre but I had to leave my number as the person dealing with it was not in. I got a callback within 30 mins with apologies and confirmation that the refund had been put through, yeah right heard that before, but I can confirm that the refund is in my bank this morning.
