Don't suppose you be interested in a trade for a MarkBass 151HF 8 ohm cab (with protective cover). Brand spanking new condition, massive full sound with adjustable tweeter. Hardly used at all.
Thanks, Mark. But I'm fully amped

So as well as the Sadowsky I have for sale, I am also selling my Lakland DJ4. The bass has a super-fast neck! Probably the fastest, most comfortable neck I have ever played on (very thin). I use this bass primarily as a Jamerson/Motown bass. It is a Skyline made in Korea. Maple neck with block inlays. Colour is Pearl White I believe. Through-body stringing. Passive electronics. Specs here. I picked it up from a friend who bought it new from Bass Central. He only had the bass a few months, and needed cash for his own custom build that he had going on at the time, and so sold it to me. The bass is in excellent condition. One tiny graze on the bottom side lacquer which could easily be polished out with some elbow grease. Here's what it sounds like: It comes in the hard case in the pics (which is pristine). Price is £750 ONO + Postage. Pickup welcome. Located in Weston-super-Mare near Bristol.

I've decided it's time to save up for my dream bass when it comes along (i'm looking for a Celinder Update 4...) and do this I need to shift my current basses. I'm also selling a Lakland DJ4 here. This Sadowsky Metro 4 String has had 1 previous owner who only had it for a couple of months from new, before selling it to me. I did buy it on here, but for the life of me I cannot find the post or the person who sold it to me! The bass itself is in fantastic condition and has only really been a "bedroom" bass since i've owned it. There's some light scratching on the scratch plate (guess it's doing it's job!), and a tiny mark in the lacquer near the back electronics panel, and back corner (see photos). Also a small graze in the back of the neck. Apart from that, it's a beautiful piece of wood. It comes from a smoke free home. I'm not very technical with woods and such, but this is a Sadowsky MV4 model, with an Ash body and a Maple neck (correct me if I'm wrong!). It has a deliciously fast neck and wonderful active electronics, fitted with a VTC. The strings on it are old, and didn't want to replace them as I'm sure the next owner will have their own type they would like to fit (and I like old strings!). It will come in the original Sadowsky case, which is also in perfect condition, and the warranty pack/tools. Serial number is M3037. I believe this makes it made in 2009 (though the pass certificate I have says 2008-12-04), You can hear it on this video (with the scratch plate removed): This bass is selling for £1925 at the Bass Gallery. Price is: Withdrawn!

I also use Transcribe! on a Mac - on the hard to hear bits I usually put it up an octave and slow it down. Sibelius to notate. Works for me

A collection of R&B/Soul/Funk/Jazz bass transcription websites
Simon replied to kiat's topic in Theory and Technique
Here's the current, larger collection. its a bit of a hassle hand editing all of these links into this post (would much prefer copy & paste direct from the blog post - is there an easier method?
You could just edit the changes in to your first post at the top every time -
BCers, any suggestions for other sites? Is this collection of transcription websites useful to anyone? Happy to keep it updated for now if it is.
Yes, you are missing Arcellus Sykes - he has excellent transcriptions. Thank you for the link btw -
Nice one Higgie! This is on my list of "to-do's" but hadn't got around to it yet. Love this track and Tom Barney's playing!
thanks for those....Get on the Floor's verse seems 'different', not saying it's incorrect though, there never seems to any consistancy on this one, but here is Louis himself...and then even he has changed the key! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwCzTo20d18
Agreed! I did the transcription in question, and I did it before I saw the video. But I think he's spiced it up a bit with the chords, and a tone higher...the Verse is the real toughie!
