1.
Also getting into Signals, so what bass is on that? :-) Jennifer
Signals is almost a 50/50 split between the Rick and the Jazz: Subdivisions - Rick The Analog Kid -Rick Chemistry - Rick The Digital Man - Jazz The Weapon - Jazz New World Man - Jazz Losing It - Not 100%, it's rumoured to be a different Rick model to his usual. Countdown - Rick If you listen carefully the two basses sound very different - The Rick is quite driven and very growly with a lot of mid punch. The Jazz is far cleaner and snappier. A lot of people comment on how the Rick and the Jazz sound almost the same in Geddy's hands, but listening to this record, the differences are clear. A lot of the confusion stems from Moving Pictures, where again both basses were used but they had so much distortion added in production that even Geddy struggles to recall which track is which. I think Geddy's Rick tone on this album is the best tone he ever put on record.
 2. I once found a pristine DeArmond Starfire bass in a junk shop in York. Wish I still had it. The shop was just outsied the city wall somewhere, not sure exactly where but there is a building opposite with a large painted advert on the side for 'bile beans', whatever the devil they are. That's probably no help to the OP at all, but it just goes to show what you can stumble across if you keep your eyes peeled!
 3. Bump for price reduction! Now a mere fifty of your English pounds.
 4. Bah! Please update the title to show it's been sold
 5.
Could you gig with this or is it not loud enough? Cheers Rob
Depends what type of music you play! At 35w I wouldn't rate it's chances against a drummer to be honest.
 6.
Would you consider postage to Sheffield?
I will have a look into postage costs and get back to you.
 7. Excellent! I love that reunion bass. Never heard him play it though. Do you know if that Thumb is Jack's original one? It looks in very good condition.
 8. At 30, I'm probably among the last age group to really 'do' record shops. I remember loooking for rare bootlegs at Kensington Market, or waiting a month for HMV to get in that single I ordered. Of course, you can find them in seconds on the internet, but it does take out a lot of the fun.
 9. Bump. Open to offers!
 10. What a beauty!
 11.
Hey Cosmo, interested in the amp. Have an active bass, does it have a separate input? cheers. When are you free for collection please?
PMd.
 12. Bump.
 13. Bump for truly excellent amp. The Line 6 blurb never mentions the 'Brit' setting for some reason, it's the amps hidden weapon!
 14. Discontinued Orange Crush 35w bass amp. Fully functioning and very LOUD! Very old school, warm tone. Only selling due to a lack of space, my tiny Line 6 now fulfils any bedroom practice requirements! One slight thing - the plastic/rubber casing on the handle has come undone at one end (see pic) - the handle itself is still attached and works fine so this is nothing more than a cosmetic issue. Here are the gubbins I found online: The main features of the Orange CRUSH 35B BASS COMBO include:

35 watts of Orange tone at an affordable price
Single - Clean thru Overdrive channel configuration
12 inch Orange Design speaker
Gain / Volume controls
Low / Mid / High EQ
Headphone Out / Speaker Out / Line Out
Classic Orange Styling
It's not little or lightweight so collection only, from Dartford. £50 and it's yours.
 15.
Is rudeness only to be used when you can use it in secret behind someones back? I find that more disgusting and an example of the problems with tribalism.
My point was that several people on here chose to be deliberately offensive and provocative knowing full well that the player in question would probably read their comments. That's just spiteful. We don't have to like everyone's music or playing, but we have a choice about how we express that distaste.
 16.
Fender without a moment's doubt. If I could pick any it would be one of those 60s slabs as used by Entwistle.
17. Does everyone on here have as much hatred for 12 string basses? I really can't see the issue here, the original clip is of a man at what looks like an exhibition or trade show trying out a bass, getting an idea for the tone and what the bass can do. Similar to what we all do in guitar shops. The fact that it was disclosed that the chap in the video is a member on here and everyone still felt free to be so rude and offensive is pretty disgusting.
 18.
From his own mouth - with a pick, always neck pickup only, bridge PUP dialled down to zero. This interview (google cache, as website has exceeded bandwidth message up!) talks about his gear.
And he splits the signal to two amps - one clean, one dirty. I'm not sure exactly what amps he used back in the day but whenever I've seen him recently he's used a Hartke amp for clean lows and an Ashdown ABM for grit. Both amps went through Ashdown Mag cabs. He also used a Blackstar pedal for occasional solo boost. This rig sounded just like 'classic' Wishbone Ash, the tone of dreams!!
 19. Beautiful bass. 'I wish I'd never sold mine' bump.
