Bought a Bugera Veyron BV1001M from Paul a day or two ago, it arrive very well packaged a few hours ago! Excellent service from a trusted BCer.
Another credit to basschat!

So many pointless questions... can we get a spam filter on basschat? 🙄

Tom just picked up my rather beautiful Peavey TL6. A great chap to deal with, always good to meet a fellow basschatter! Glad it's gone to a good home.
Yet another credit to the BC community!

ahh thanks matey, much appreciated
I'll be playing the hot box in chelmsford on Thu 25th April with my band The Fargo Railroad Co if that's anywhere near you and you fancy an evening of americana / country rock?
It's about 10-15 mins away. You're welcome to come by before hand should you so wish!

I'm definitely no where near you, but if you find yourself in Essex at any point, you're welcome to come have a noodle on the various 6+ string basses in my garden studio.

For anyone who plans on working on an amplifier it behooves them to at least learn the basics of electronics. Would you work on a car's engine without learning a bit about it before you start?
Bees don't have hooves. Everyone knows that. 😋

With the greatest of respect @Beedster that schematic is about as simple as one could be. I could almost build that blindfolded!!
That's like saying a language simple if you already speak it. That diagram means nothing to me!

8 x KT88 or 6550 and 3 x 12ax7 valves is the sweet spot...
Peavey Classic 400
Marshall VBA400
Mesa Boogie Strategy Eight:88
Laney Nexus Tube
All these heads pretty much follow that formula and all are awesome. Heavy, but awesome!

Almost tempted just to see the Binky bass in person 😜. Not to mention meeting its owner...
I mean IF you wanted to come here, I'd not say no to the cab... 😆
You'd be welcome to meet Binky and the rest of the hoard. Some interesting beasts reside within the music dungeon at the bottom of the garden...

Non worries! Probably shouldn't entertain the idea of ANOTHER giant heavy cab!

@OzJzF - Any chance you come past Wickford at all?

As a fellow six string player what is that gorgeous bass hanging above theMesa amp??
That is a 33" ACG Salace E-Type with a Blue resin/Buckeye burl top. Tis indeed a tasty beast!

Just spotted these on the recycling thread.
You don't want to fit those! They're quite brittle and are specifically for cabs with 'cut holes' for the handles as they're recessed. They wouldn't be suitable.
I'd listed them on the off-chance someone was perhaps wanting to add original parts to a project. In reality, they're not really worth using. They'll be in the bin this evening!

Glad that this was resolved amicably.
Good to know that at least the members here can sort things out without recriminations.
Great bunch of people.
We did have a 7 hour bare knuckle fight followed by a battle with Rhodesian fighting sticks. But in the end, all was settled!

It is indeed an ACG fretless bass (Alan Cringean Guitars) built by @skelf. He builds absolutely excellent instruments... I have 5 of his basses at the moment!
How did you come across it if you don't mind me asking? You've got a very nice bass there.
-
Yeah, I doubt I'll ever gig the Marshall, I might once just for the sake of it, but the Epifini UL901 and Bergantino 410 cab are probably going to be the 'gig rig'. Easy enough to move about.
The Marshall is an amp I've always wanted, so when it came up (with the cabs) for a pretty irresistible price, and at a location on the way home from a business trip, I wasn't strong enough to resist!

My 'journey' has been largely based on chopping and changing things over the years - a few single investments here and there and then it was just a matter of selling something and buying something else or trading etc. so not a huge total outlay, just a lot of swapping things about! Means you can try a lot of great gear for minimal cost. 👍

I hope it keeps you happy for a little while before you start lusting after something else. LOL
Truer words were never spoken! Reckon I've been through 150+ amps over the years and (without exaggeration) 2000+ basses/guitars. GAS fears me.

Mr Grezza sold me a speaker cable, it arrived promptly and does what I need it to do! Great communication throughout, a nice smooth transaction - would happily buy from again!
Cheers sir! 👍

Was that a multi-band thing or your own gig?
Yeah, us and two other bands. Don't have any kind of following to populate Chinnerys ourselves! 😄

NBD - Yet ANOTHER ACG...

Just had a very friendly chap from UPS delivery my 'new' ACG...
Struck a deal with @eude to relieve him of his ACG Mikro bass. It's an absolute beaut. Its currently strung E to F so I'll be restringing it Bb to B as we play half a step down and I prefer a top B. It's in absolutely immaculate condition, standard outstanding build quality from @skelf.
This makes 5 ACGs currently in the collection... many more have been owned and passed on, mostly to afford another ACG!
Looking forward to giving this little super short scale beast a proper run at band practice next week.
