1. hey guys,

If your listing your stuff on ebay, stay the hell away from the following ebayer...

hortonfishery
carscostco
mpk610p

they are scammers and they'll try and screw you. they do it from multiple angles so you dont know who to believe.

Mpk610p was the winning bidder on my auction and this is what he send once i sent him the invoice....

"hi sorry to mess you about but unfortunately i cant pay for the item now as my washing machine caught fire and i have to replace it and redecorate
sorry again
mark"

hortonfishery and carscostco both sent me messages with links to phishing websites, websites that ask you to type in passwords, usernames, card numbers etc etc. DONT DO IT!

these where the messages they sent me.....

"Thank's to eBay the forum,we already know that you are a scammer, get a real job or something:

www.monitor-ebay.by.ru/monitor.eBaycgi-eBayscammer-FORUM.html"

and...

"Hello, I want to purchase your item but I have seen the same item posted by another seller . It has exact description and pictures as yours. Please let me know who is the real seller . You can still see the item at the seller's on-line store by clicking on the link below or copy and paste it to you browser:

anyone whos knows the username of a ebay scammer post it here, we'll get a list together of who to avoid, should make us all a little safer.

Cheers, Russ.

2.
because it has 4 strings, it doesn't matter what it's made out of, it's still an electric bass. However the instrument in your avatar because it has so many strings, it's not actually a bass.
basses are allowed more than four strings!

3. haha, love the postcard, good work!

as for changing my tune... just thought id tone down my thoughts on this bass... people didnt like my innitial "what the hell is this" remark.

but still... deffinatly not a fan of it! call me shallow, but unless it sounded absolutly astonishingly ridiculously amazing, i just couldnt get rond the look of the thing!

probably the T-1000's bass of choice, and if its good enough for him, then who am i to disagree!

extended range bass or ERB if you will, would be the correct term for the "instrument" in my avatar.

4. hey,

did a trade with rohan, 6 logitech speakers for a rack tuner.

the item was delivered exactly when said, in excellent condition and works beautifly

rohans a good trader, trade/buy/swap with confidence!

Russ.

5. a scrunchie on the neck is always a good option, personally i tend not to do that, ive had this bass built with a zero fret, so that minimizes resonation from other strings, but i rarely use open strings, ive found that, especailly because of my style, fretting what would be the open note is easier for me any way.

as it goes, i only own 4 string basses at the moment, ive always been interested in ER basses, so i stepped up to a conklin 7 a while ago, but sold it on this very site a few months back to raise more funds for this bass, the conklin 7 took a while to get used to for sure, as im sure this one will, but when i was playing the conklin 7 i was almost inspired purley because of the extra strings to write some of the best pieces ive written, but i still wanted more strings! so 13 months ago i started having this 10 string beast built.

you should check out yves carbonne or jean baudin. yves plays 10 string unmarked fretless (thats beyond me, i dont understand how he does what he does!) jean plays 13 string basses. both obscene players!

infact jean was an excellent source for advice when choosing who to have build it.

have a look at www.beebasses.com run by Fred bolton, the very man whos building mine.

Peace.

Russ.

6. the inlay is deffinatly a personal thing, its binky the bunny from life in hell by matt greoning, ive just been drawing that little rabbit in random places from about 10 years, so look out for it!
10 string is a hella lot of strings, but its kind of a cross over between bass, chapman sticks and warr guitars, i play alot of tapp style, so 10 strings really opens out the possibilities!

7. Good to see a decent collection of basses in essex! thought i might be the only bassist in essex who actually knows the instrument. its good to see a fellow essex player! heres a pic of whats soon to be my cherished slag!

8. hey all,

though this would be a good place to post a pic or two of my almost done 10 stringer.
