3.
Nice bass! Always fancied one of these, not sure I can quite stretch to £8.50 let alone £850...
It'll sound great through your vintage, my 4 string ones do!
Noirbass aka Chris has just had an Ashbory off me - smooth transaction, good communications and payment as scheduled.
At the risk of being repetitive, Chris has just had an Ashbory off of me! All very easily sorted. Top bloke to deal with. Hope you get on ok with it Chris, and a pleasure doing business with you
 6.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fender-Precision-Spe...=item1e5ae7485d Been after one of these for a while, and missed out on one this forum just a little while ago. What would be a realistic offer for this? and how much will the shipping/tax be likely to the uk? Thanks in advance
Have a look at http://classicandcoolguitars.co.uk He had two of these for sale the last time I looked at his site. I bought my P bass from here and am very pleased with it. Thorough and accurate descriptions and good photos, and if you're near enough you can make an appointment to go try them. No import duty either!
 7.
Thanks porkpie, I will if I ever down there. I agree the jap flower bass was great in terms of weight but Ann didn't fancy standing next to me or being associated with me using it. (I've been asked to dep with my 16yr olds band tonight. I guess I can't be that uncool after all, but the flower bass is getting its debut, after all I'm now at an age when it's my job to be an embarressment to teenagers whenever possible. Ah sweet revenge!) My chiropractor advised not just strengthening excersises, but to look at and address any possible causes of back probs aswell, so lighter gear has also had to be a consideration.
 8. Hi Tom, I'm a big Pedulla fan, my main gigging basses, a fretted and fretless Rapture, both 4 string, Jazz type pickups, ultra slim necks, lightwieght and small body, a joy to do a 2hr plus gig with. I also have to consider my back, especially as we can be gigging up to 6/7 times a month when its busy, and I have no more probs with these basses. Also for some reason they don't seem to hold their value well, and you will probably be able to find one within your budget second hand, though you may have to be patient. If you're ever down in Devon give me a shout, you're more than welcome to pop in and try mine! That 54 re-issue P you sold me is pretty light too! Good luck in your search
 9. Blimey Tom, you're selling some nice basses, can't justify another Jazz style, but I just wanted to say how pleased I am with the P flower '54 I had off you in Jan, and give a bump for a top geezer to do business with. Good luck with the sale.
 10. Cheers for the replies guys, Protium; yes they all went at the bridge, but on two different basses, I think one had old strings which could account for it, grabbed it at the last minute as my regular fretted bass has an electrical fault. The other is a 3 month old fretless Pedulla Rapture wiyh Pedulla strings, set up both by Mike and then at Mansons. I am assuming the strings may be a duff set, changed the lot now and no probs at the last two gigs with it. thisnameistaken; SWR 700 through newly acquired Barefaced T'Vintage, which IMHO is an awesome piece of kit, not only sounds fantastic whatever I play through it, but ultra light and V tough, and extremely loud! Huwberry; Perhaps its more to do with with everyday stresses spilling over into my gigging and getting a little over enthusiastic! Until last week its been years since breaking anything!
 11. Is it me? Maybe its just how I play! We did 2 gigs last weekend, Friday night broke my E string, decided to use another bass on Saturday, and about 4 bars in, broke the E string. Then, towards the end of the second set, A string gone. We do call our style Folk Punk, and we are a bit full on, but it was a bit of a suprise to go through that many big strings in quick succesion. Mind you, by the end of the Saturday gig I was getting pretty slick at the fast change! Anyone else manage to get through strings like this? Any suggestions for a sturdier string for the more thuggish player!?

 14. I've a fretted and a fretless j4, which are my main gigging basses. perfectly balanced, no probs with being neck heavy. They sound amazing and are a joy to play, super slim fast necks, and comfortable and light. My fretted is maple necked and nice and bright, and the fretless is rosewood with the high gloss laquer, lovely to play, and loads of cowey mooey mwah! Looks a million dollars too. I was lucky enough to pick up the fretted 2nd hand at a good price, I really cannot understand why basses this good depreciate so much. My fretless, I had to order new as there aren't any 2nd hand ones around. It arrived within 8 weeks and is worth every penny. If you get a chance to try one I hope you'll begin to understand my enthusiasm for such well designed and constructed instruments, that also look fantastic.
 15.
ade, im waiting on vintage and rare getting back to me on a usa vintage precision they have, but yours is a huge distraction! May well be in touch. Soon.
I too was looking for a vintage P bass, and had one on hold until I tried a 50th anniversary model. I now own the 50th anniversary as it played and sounded so much better. Just my opinion of course Andy, wouldn't want to try and influence you or anything!
 16. Just completed a seamless deal with Tom, what a top geezer. Really nice to be able to do business on trust, and have a good natter as well! Plus, I've a great blue flower bass to busk with now. You will be comfortable dealing with this man! Cheers, Neil

 20.
well it arrived safely tis afternoon, and i have to say i'm pleasantly impressed! There are a couple of very minor scuffs to the bass of the tolex covering, but plugged a bass in and it sounds great! not the loudest amp in the world but it should be well loud enough for a rehersal in the house!! The first time ive bought something without seeing any pics of it but very pleased with the outcome!! and for £175 too!!!
Bargain! I use mine for practice round the house or whenever the drummer cant make it to rehearsal, very happy with the sound. Also it can be battery powered for when we go busking, I use a dry cell motorbike battery externally as you get longer use than putting a small unit in the battery compartment. We did a beer festival last year ,and one of the other band's bassist used his on stage through the pa, a bit muddy but ok for such a small amp.

 23.
Absolutely stunning... If this is not so heavy it's a must have... all fretless Pedulas i tried were real nice sounding... Good luck for the sale
I have to agree with k-sad, my Rapture fretless is outstanding, and its the budget (relatively) model in the range! Good luck with the sale Gary, shame it has to go, someone will be very happy with this.
 24. Hi gary mac, I too had vintage Fender gas a couple of years back, and after getting thoroughly confused by what was original, what decreased the resale value( wanted a player, but one with some value I could leave to the kids!) etc etc, and the minefield of both decent and unscrupulous dealers, I finally arrived at a nice '77 P bass in natural with a maple board. Played lovely, was a really good wieght, light for late 70's, and I thought, yes, this is the one. This process had taken about 8 months. Anyway, I went to pick it up from the dealer and he also had an early 2000's and a 50th anniversary P, both immaculate, and both about half the price of the '77. I thought I ought to try them just to make a comparison, and they were both far superior in every possible way to any of the vintage basses I had tried. So I now have a fantastic 50th anniversary P bass which is an absolute joy to play and has that classic sound that I was after. Yeah its a 'limited edition' but then half the stuff Fender put out is an anniversary of one sort or another, so I'm under no illusions on that front. Whats the point of this rambling post, well I suppose I'm trying to say that, imho, if you're buying to use, gig etc, dont be blinkered by 'vintage', there are some great modern Fenders out there that you won't have to remortgage to afford. By the way, I hope your luck changes, sounds like you're having a bad run at the mo.
