  1. Not for sale Ever It's the bass I recorded my first album with - it has a special place in the story of my life. Doesn't mean I like playing it, mind.
  2. My JV-P sucks - I hate playing it
  3. Your description is the wrong way round - the 3i-5014-44 is for P/J basses - the 3i-5014-OP is the open cavity case - I know I have both too - is that £175 for both or each?
  4. My real life surname is Gibson - my 'signature' bass would confuse people - it wouldn't be a Gibson. I'd favour my EB Musicman USA Sterling 4HH black with rosewood board, a matching black headstock and green pearl plate...would look odd with a Gibson signature, mind.
  5. My kids shouting at each other about whose turn it is to go on the X-box. It's half term and their mother decided to spend the week in Spain and so I am full time Dad this week.
  6. Our singer has at least 2 guitars, a load of obscure percussion items, a guitar pedal collection larger than mine and 3 saxophones so. Nope
  7. 1.78 m Can get to over 6ft with back combing
  8. The one jazz album I will never tire of: Midnight Blue - Kenny Burrell Wavy Gravy just gets me every time @ 19:10 on the linked youtube video - try it - you'll love it!
  9. How disappointing. I was hoping to widen my vocabulary.
  10. Yes you should feel guilty - isn't that what the catholic church teaches? The whole of your life is run on guilt. If you feel no guilt you're not doing it right Oh sorry I shouldn't bring religion into things.
  11. Take one of the songs on a previous album and stick a wav of it in your DAW. Reverse the wav file and play it backwards. play along with it - you'll have a new bassline, that works, in no time. I've done this a few times when lost for inspiration. Ooops - giving away secrets!
  12. Another option would be to use 2 of the 9V 100mA outputs and a parallel adaptor: https://www.thomann.de/gb/t_rex_dc_current_doubler_50cm.htm
  13. Put on YouTube and post the link
  14. Anything wider than a jazz is too big for me
  15. It's awful - it needs a much hotter iron to even get close. I bought a huge reel (probably a lifetime's supply) of the leaded stuff a few years ago.
  16. so many covers - am I the only one in a non-cover band that posts video?
  17. Should've gone to Specsavers
  18. the bass gallery did one for me
  19. We've come across a few of those - a festival in Berlin a few years ago provided a kit with only 1 leg on the kick drum and no drum stool......we worked around it!
  20. Our drummer has no kit. He has cymbals, a snare and a snare pedal. He uses the kit provided in the rehearsal studio and borrows this if we have a UK gig - and we rent his kit with the backline locally for the non-UK gigs. I suspect he's parted with the least amount of gear cash over the years out of all 5 of us.
  21. Why do i get the impression you're building up to something? Perhaps an exposé of a Basschat member?
  22. We need a video in the gigs forum........to use a cliché : this thread is useless without pics
  23. Ah so that's where Simon Gallup gets his moves from
  24. Tell me about it!!! I made a Warmoth PJ lined fretless a few years back.....it's been played probably for a total of about 10 minutes. I'm clearly no Jaco
