King double bass: Built In Cleveland, Ohio, USA circa 1931. Restored, set up and maintained by Laurence Dixon, UK since 2004. *Plywood/hardwood hybrid, violin shaped, round back 3/4 size. *Maple neck (with original engraved machines) and beautiful high grade ebony fingerboard, maple bridge (with metal adjusters) and ebony tailpiece with modern nylon over steel wire with length adjustment bolts. *’Ron Carter’ style ebony wood receiver endpin with various length (and woods) dowels. (New ones can be turned to any length required). This style of endpin encourages a natural/warm/woody sound. *Fitted with both Shadow SH950 dual and The Realist pickups for versatility in amplified tone. *Strings are D’Addario hybrids. *Black real leather bow quiver. *Protected with black Roth & Juntus canvas gig bag with reinforced straps. All work done by Laurence Dixon. This professional instrument is ready to be taken out and played without any work or extras needed. It has a beautiful sound and is the bass I recorded with on the first Paddington movie soundtrack and on the Kylie Minogue cover of ‘Let It Snow’ and in the West End shows Rent Remixed and The Hurly Burly Show (among other stuff). 5 string Acoustic Bass guitar Originally a ‘gear for music’. Now with a few professional modifications done: *New nut and saddle *Frets leveled *Truss rod adjusted * Headstock veneer All the above created a much better playing action and tone. *Headstock veneered to block original logo (not needed I’m sure you’ll agree),and interior sticker removed as well. *Schaller Oyster pickup added. (can be blended with original piezo pickup or used on its own). I left it on the exterior so it can be moved (using putty or double sided tape) in a few different positions to suit the owner/player. Now a well playing instrument for the beginner or pros with the modifications and included extra pickup! No case included but the original bronze strings will be and on the instrument are the well known (and expensive) Thomastik-Infeld Thomastik JF345 Jazz Flatwound 5-String Bass Strings. Bumping to say go play it.......

A pair of custom jazz bass pickups for 5 string jazz basses by Jim Cairnes. I don’t have much info on his stuff but I’m sure those that do would share here or even have done so somewhere else on this forum. Feel free guys.. Model: B505 (sizes without cover as stated below) Neck: 92/93mm Bridge: 92/94mm (dropped into a Squier perfectly so I assume Fender fit....?) Smooth 60’s tones (Motown, Jazz, Reggae even fret-less etc...). I’m only selling because I wanted more sizzle tops for a project bass (for rock/picking or slap) but it has a decent slap tone along with the other mentioned type of tones. Well made, clean, single coils, large magnetic poles (think Musicman) with decent wiring. They’re being sold as I got them without covers and we’re mounted directly in the bass. This can be done in this way or I’m sure mounted in shells of your choice. I personally like the look of exposed poles:-). Will be sold with screws for this (x8 black). Sorry I can’t send any mp3 files as they are already out and packaged. Regards
