  1. [NOW SOLD, MUCH THANKS] http://www.acguitars.co.uk/project/0172-finn-r-type-fretless-5/ I put the link above to let the pictures do the talking...plus specs. As I’m going in a different direction, I’ve decided to let this one go. In mint condition! Plays like a dream! I spoke to Alan Cringean himself (luthier) and even he says he went in deep with this one and some lucky owner would enjoy immensely. The electronics is the East-UK, Uni-pre as I’m more familiar with this setup and so has a vast variety of tones in the engine! Partial lines and luminay dots on lines on the side. I’ll put a fresh set of strings on and a new 9v battery before collection or shipping (probably Newtones). I’ll add some home pics but the original pics are more professional so have a look at both. Aylesbury collection possible but UK shipping and Hiscox hard case included in the price. Note: this spec would cost approx £3000 (and you would have to wait!) Now....who’s feeling lucky?
  2. My two cents.... Benefits of an outboard pre-amp includes not having to modify your bass, switching in/out with your feet, using it with different basses/situations, no 9v battery issues. Benefits of an onboard pre-amp includes quick hands on changes, pickup/pre-amp compatibility (if chosen correctly), no extra gear carrying They both have can be connected to the power-amp section of an amp (plug into the return to bypass the pre-amp section) to have a familiar tone. I personally prefer the onboard system but to each his own! (And I support local...East-UK is the bomb!!) Good luck on your searches
  3. ps: threats of more tonal examples....😇
  4. Somehow I agree🧐 Pickups are blended with dual blends. One for between the P and JJ and one for between the JJ set. Thus you can have the in-between tones... Weight I don’t know (no scale at the moment)...but in comparison to my other basses, quite light and comfortable for long periods (a big part of the reason I chose for the road). String spacing is 18mm.
  5. Yep. Not deliberately. My good pal John East pointed that out to me. The Urge bass wasn't it?
  6. Ok. You forced me!😫 Added some sound files (apologies for the cheese)
  7. NOW SOLD cheers guys!!👍🏽
  8. NOW SOLD- much thanks, please delete. (someone is extremely happy🤗😉) It does not look like your usual 605 model because.... *DiMarzio JJ pickups *EMG p/bass pickup *East UK Uni-Pre active electronics. *Custom made rosewood scratch plate to accommodate the pickups. This was put together to use on travel gigs where I need a professional/reliable/flexible instrument and sound without taking an expensive instrument (damn you airlines!!). Slap, fast/fluid/finger style Jazz, p-bass thump and all the in between styles readily available on this beauty! In great condition (small nick on the headstock) with few but not obvious or large marks. With chrome hardware! (Updated pics). The switch is a ‘kill’ switch. I use it as a mute to avoid any unwanted ‘accidents’ live. Gig bag included. Yamaha Specs: Nathan East Sculpted Body Design Solid Alder Body 5-String Maple Neck Rosewood Fingerboard 24 Frets, 34” scale. Neck width 45mm at the nut and 75mm at the last fret. 18mm string spacing at bridge. Collection from Aylesbury preferred or can post to UK. Feel free to ask away for any more info.
  9. East all the way for flexibility and tone....
  10. Hi, Ok. I've had some issues lately...sorry. I'll double check that asap... Cheers
  11. Some still here and I’m listening to offers...👂🏾👀
  12. Still here and I’m listening for offers...👂🏾👀
  13. NOW SOLD THANKS!👍🏽 Both in good condition and original boxes with instructions. They were on pedalboards with Velcro attachments and so bellow shows the markings. Otherwise works perfectly. If you’re looking, I’ll assume that you know what they do and the quality so I won’t bore you with details but they do what they do fantastically!!! Collection from Aylesbury with safety measures in place or can post at buyer’s cost. £135 each or both for £250 plus p&p eh?
  14. This classic has seen some years but all works and is perfectly gig-able. Nice tone too!! I have serviced and cleaned all the electronics and even added a lick of paint to make it look more presentable. Tried with a variety of cabs (that I’m selling 😉) and has a wide range of eq and tone. Collection from Aylesbury best (with safety measures in place) or buyer arranged courier.
  15. Edited to add the another BC. Hope this is fine by the bosses that be..... Great pair (not being rude:-) I was actually thinking of converting one to fretless but....may leave that for someone else to have fun doing!
  16. Trust me it is! My 5's don't totally give me what this does but I'm mainly a 5 string player and can't keep everything....😩
  17. Mods: Please delete! Note: edited as pics below pickup shows the bass as a 335 Pulled because I have now converted the dark brown to Fretless and keeping. Sorry Can deliver within a safe distance or even safely meet up... Read the following info. It’s as best to my knowledge. (Note: only the 335 available. The darker of the two). They are now passive basses with switching. (to be clear). The previous owner took the electronics out and replaced with some clever switching which allows for great tonal variations. (and allows you to hear the true sound of these basses). By my research the original electronics seemed to be a weak spot in the design. (Subjective I know). SB505: Transluscent Brown stained ash body with matching headstock, 5 string fretted 3 piece maple neck/Ebony fingerboard, gold hardware, brass nut, Humbucker pickups x2, passive with Vol/tone/blend and 4 way switching. *In near mint condition (other than the mods) *Low easy action with smooth tone and a lovely B string. Easy to find different tones with switching. *Converted to passive with some clever switching.(I do not have the original circuit). *45mm nut, 18/19mm string spacing Gig bag or hard case now included !! Collection from Aylesbury or buyer arranged courier. (...eep) Feel free to ask away for more info, not trading at the moment.
  18. Had some sniffs but difficult time and no one able/want to come out to try in these times (COVID is a beach!) That would certainly be ‘job done’ as it’s better than I say and in the flesh.....unreal! Ah well, I’ll press on and wait for the lucky one 😉
