1.
I've used Trace stuff for 20 years now, I think you'd be fine with this for medium sized gigs, especially if you add a second cab. With two cabs you're getting the full benefit of the 250 watts (into 4 ohms) and don't forget, these are Trace watts. These older British made models were always underrated watts wise ;-)
+1 I've never, ever had mine past 10 o'clock so unless you're playing absolutely vast venues without going through a PA, a 250watt Trace would be more than ample.
2. Big Muff type Bump !!!!
3. Awesome amp at a crazy price. How has this not sold yet??? 😧
4.
I also find that quite often it's easier to sing if I play with a plectrum - I've no idea why.
Same here for some reason. In our band I sing bv's only and I always play with my fingers. However, I do enjoy singing and used to share lead vocals in my old band (and we still do the occasional gig). However, when I am singing lead and playing with my fingers, on some songs I feel almost too 'attached' to the bass and playing with a pick seems to help separate my Vox from the bass lines. A bit weird really!
5. Oooh, that's enough to make me do something silly. Absolutely gorgeous 😍
6. Just bought a VT bass pedal from Theo. Great communication, great item and well wrapped. Trade with confidence. Top fella :-) Many thanks again.
7.
Vintage: Proper hefty bass sound with bass played as it should be, as part of a rhythm section. Rugged and manly. Hi-Fi: Widdly-widdly twangy cutlery-drawer-down-the-stairs in your face inappropriate slappy solo nipple-rub for gaylords. I await the backlash with pleasure.
Haha 😂
8. Interesting thread. My advice, buy an old skool Trace SMX head, press pre-shape 2 and Bingo! You'll cut through any mix 😜
9. Hi all EHX Bass Big Muff for sale in excellent condition complete with a 9v psu. It's this one: https://youtu.be/N9bJh_YvfrE £40 including mainland UK postage or you're welcome to collect from South Yorkshire. Let me know where you are and a meet up may be possible Thanks
10. And another PM on its way 😉
11. Bump for another SMX bargain. With this case it will be the lightest possible version. Jack to speak on connectors are readily available, I have a couple from when I used to play mine with Barefaced cabs. Awesome
12. Very nice indeed. Congratulations 👍
13.
Received my new MK1 fretless with Violet stained sycamore facings last night and I couldn't be happier with it. Like my new Ziricote MK3 it is everything I expected and hoped it would be. I usually put labella flats on fretless basses by default but this sounds so good with the nickle rounds it has on it anyway I'm going to keep them for a while (who needs a pristine fingerboard anyway ). The new basses these last couple of weeks are the culmination of several years of trying just about everything out there in the bass world, buying, selling, trading etc. I have settled on Wal basses and I'm now down to owning two instruments that cover all my playing needs. I still have GAS obviously, that'll never go away, but I could quite happily never own another bass for the rest of my days and I am very confident that the two I now have could handle any situation I'm likely to find myself in. Anyway... time for the obligatory garden table pics. I'm away this weekend but I will try and do some recordings in the near future for this and the MK3.
Gorgeous 😍
14. Another smooth and painless transaction with Andrew who bought my Stingray. Text book 😉 All the best!
15. Can't believe this is still here 😧
16.
Does anyone have a square peg to fit in this round hole? ... A more serious answer, the Wal socket is much to far recessed for right angled jacks, straights only
Just as I thought. I was hoping there was an obscure company somewhere manufacturing elongated plugs :-/
17. Hi all I'm after lead with a right angled jack plug on it but it's got to suit a recessed jack socket (as on a Wal). Any suggestions/recommendations? Cheers
18.
I don't usually love blue basses, but this one is stunning!
It's actually a bluey green colour but it's very difficult to capture on camera
19. Ever since I saw Bass Tractor's last year, I knew I just had to get my hands on one of these beauties and here it is. Picked it up on Saturday fresh out of it's box and case...........
20. Bump for a beauty of a bass
