Si [/quote] Cheers Si I don't know how well the blue compares with the gold as the reverb architecture has been re-done from the ground up, but it would be cool to A/B them. In my FX set-up I'm low-passing the clean signal and amplifying that separately so that only the high end gets treated by the chorus, reverb and delay chain. FX chain is now Bass > X-Over > Hi-pass > JOYO Ultimate Drive > Big Muff Pi > CEB-3 Chorus (stereo out) > Eterna (one side only) > Delay (stereo in/out) > Amp(s) Ian
  2. Got my hands on one of these today. Can't wait to stick it on the FX board and give it a whirl. Sounded really good using a Fender Mex Jazz, so we shall see if it stacks up OK with the Ibby. I'm expecting it to be good through my valve amp for the shimmery stuff. The reverb tail is extraordinarily long and the octave-up shimmer just shines. Tracks well on a bass down to G/F# territory and does OK with the open E Such fun!
  3. I have a habit of trying different (and esoteric) tunings. Have tried Drop-D, Drop-C and BEAD before. Currently I'm using an unusual D-Maj7th tuning (D F# A C#) for a side project I'm working on. Had my Squier P-Bass tuned to BEAD for a long while, even after I converted it to fretless. If it works for you then go for it. Alternatively, have you considered a bass in standard tuning and getting an octaver for the parts where you need a low B etc? HTH, Ian

[/quote] I'm in the midst of putting together an effects board with stereo outs from the Chorus and Delay section. My bass signal gets split after my first board (the utility board just has my tuner, POG and DI). The output from the cross-over sends the lows to a big PA cab for clean, uneffected heft and the high-passed signal goes to my FX board so I can process it with the chorus and delay, then out to a pair of amps for the stereo effects. So all-in-all three channels. Sounds absolutely frickin' immense really ambient and washy, but with the added clean lows as well.
  7. Little update. Have now got the Classic JR too. Great board, sturdy and well made. Here's the problem: I'm having trouble mounting the Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2+ to the underside. The brackets I bought off of Amazon are for the right PSU but will only fit the older PT-JR series not the Classics anyone have any ideas on how to do this?
  8. Got a bracket off of Amazon for my Pedal Power 2 to sit under the PT Classic Jnr, so tonight I will be stripping off all my pedals and fitting that now. EDIT: And the damned thing doesn't fit apparently the bracket [i]is[/i] for a Pedal Power 2 [i]but[/i] will [u]only[/u] fit the older PT range (PT-JR etc) not the new Classic JR. Balls Anyone have any ideas?
  9. Well, the hard work has all been done now. Glued the case together last weekend. This weekend had the facia cut by a local carpenter and I then had the case edges rounded off on the router. Just a final sand and then the varnishing and finishing can be done. Got a brown stitched leather handle similar to Fender ones from Amazon - that arrived this morning so will fit tomorrow evening hopefully. Need a bit of mesh to cover the back part to prevent hands going inside the valve compartment. Ian

Not all LED PARs are created equal, but they should all respond to DMX commands in a similar way. You will need a DMX controller of some sort (if the PARs don't run off of an internal controller) and some cables (the USITT spec says 5-pin XLR but most manufacturers cheat and use 3-pin XLRs and mic cable - not recommended but it does work after a fashion) For more info on DMX512 check out the Wiki entry [url="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DMX512"]https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DMX512[/url] Ta, Ian

  17. ^^^ I like that a lot. I've recently invested in a few new pedals and a couple of PedalTrain boards (a Nano+ and a Classic Junior). The smaller board is my designated 'Utility' board and just has the essentials for my church playing (Tuner, MicroPOG and some grit courtesy of a Bad Monkey. DI out via a SansAmp). For my bigger, more ambitious stuff I've set up an F/X board using the Jnr so I've got room for more dirt (JOYO Vintage and Ultimate drives), Big Muff Pi, Chorus and Delay. Still have room for one more pedal - GAS'ing for a Mr Black Eterna Gold. Next month maybe......
  18. I don't get this brand snobbery - I don't class Boss pedals as 'cheap'. Inexpensive, maybe, compared to boutique stuff, but readily available and for the most part will do the job. I have a TU-2 and a CEB-3 and like both for what they do. I have other more expensive pedals but wouldn't turn my nose up just because of the brand (well, I [i]might[/i] draw the line at [i]Behringer[/i].... ) Ian
  19. Finally got around to updating my FX board. Bought a PedalTrain Classic Junior last week off of Amazon for £80. Finished putting everything on it on Saturday. Trying to see if I can fit one more pedal on it (GASing for a Mr Black Eterna Gold). Any tips for mounting a Voodoo Labs Pedalpower 2 underneath (I don't have the mounting kit)

[/quote] That's always a good sign I used to have the BSW but sold it some time ago. I now have synth-y octave goodness courtesy of a Micro POG. Through a 12" PA cab it sounds dirty and immense A POG, a Chorus and a Delay walk into a bar...... it might sound like the start of a joke but I'm putting together a new board for the effects stuff so I can have a loop switcher, two flavours of OD, a bass Big Muff Pi, and the afore-mentioned CEB-3 Chorus and a new TC Elctronics Flashback delay. O.M.G have been making weird space synthy subby dubby sounds all evening with various degrees of silliness on my low-tuned fretless. Ian

I now have a PT Nano+ with TU-2, Micro-POG, Bad Monkey and SansAmp on it for my utility board My main FX board will have my BBM Pi, some OD, my CEB-3 and TC Flashback - been trying to shoehorn it into the smallest board possible but with a PSU and DI box as well I'm going to have to use a PT Classic Junior. There are also a couple of songs in the rotation which go down past the open E, hopefuly will save me drop/down-tuning. I've got an outdoor event Sunday afternoon in the village so I need a little more low-end heft; I'll set up my rack to send the high-passed output to the rest of the effects change (OD, chorus and delay mostly) then on to my second cab.   24. Gosh, PedalTrain Nano+ *snap* Got mine yesterday from PMT in Cambridge. I only went in for a browse. Ended up coming out £300 lighter and one PedalTrain, one EHX Micro POG and a TC FlashBack delay heavier still, it'll be nice to take all my gigging bits in two soft carry cases. Glad the POG came with a 9V PSU as I literally just dropped my One-Spot and sheared the darn plastic Earth pin off......had it for years, plenty of gigging, and I drop it on my floor as I'm setting up my new board.....spooky [attachment=195349:IMG_0182.JPG] This is just my 'Utility' board for Sunday worship...... Still trying to work out where to put this lot. Definitely need a bigger PedalTrain for the 'Effects' board. [attachment=195350:IMG_0184.JPG] Can't decide on the Vintage Overdrive (TS 808 clone) or the Ultimate Drive (OCD clone). Proposed loop order is Palmer D'Accapo > 1590A loop switcher (won at the Herts Bash raffle) > OD > EHX Bass BMPi > Loop Sw > Chorus > stereo out > TC FlashBack To do: some short(er) patch cables. JOYO's are good, don't get me wrong, but I need a more compact solution. George L's maybe?.
  25. A lil' update folks Wood work has now been completed i,e all the routing and drilling done. Just need to set up a jig to clamp it all for glueing [attachment=195341:IMG_0164.JPG] Setting up the router to cut a guide channel first with a 1/4" straight-cutting bit. [attachment=195342:IMG_0165.JPG] Broke the bit luckily, just after the second channel was completed thank God :/ [attachment=195343:IMG_0168.JPG] Dovetail channels routed [attachment=195344:IMG_0171.JPG] Cutting the dovetail tongue on the side pieces [attachment=195346:IMG_0174.JPG] Dovetails all cut and dry fit together [attachment=195348:IMG_0179.JPG] Alignment check.
