  1. I think the Twin Valve is just excellent... small, light, powerful, not too expensive to revalve... I'm not exactly in love with the GP7 preamp but the amp sounds just great. A 300w amp will be more powerful but IMHO not more powerful to the point to justify the much higher weight (at least 20-25kg) and the much higher cost to buy and mantain. I think the Twin Valve is just a winner... but I would just hate having it in the combo version. I have an Ashdown 427 (very close to a V8, I think) and of course it sounds amazing but it's huge, ultra-heavy and costs easily 6 times the price of a Twin Valve (used vs used).
  2. Picture added.

  4. Bump.
  5. I actually love the sound of big basses (from 7 to 11-12) but honestly I think they require skills, taste and of course practice. And I lack them all 7 is the new sixer. The sound of the high F is very nice and it really offers a useful high range while the 6er is good for chords but only offers a handful of extra notes over a 5er.
  6. I used it a few times... but there are at least a couple of types. The "French" Chestnut is pretty light and soft, while Italian Chestnut is pretty strong, a bit softer than Ash. No idea how dense is the piece your luthier wants to use but it's definitely a nice timber. I also used it for necks a couple of times.
  7. Still available?!
  8. New, decent pics added. I hope I won't have to put these puppies on ebay!
  9. I'm in Italy. Send me a message with pictures, you never know!
  10. Some interest but still available!
  11. Sold thru ebay.

  13. Bump.
  14. Matt bought an Aguilar pickup from me... fastest payment, absolutely smooth transaction.
  15. I'm in Italy but have shipped amps/basses/cabs almost worldwide before. I also have feedbacks here and elsewhere.
  16. I've also recorded a 2 minutes clip of the cab with the 3 different crossover positions. They definitely make a difference.
  17. Price negotiable. Tradewise I'm not really into Fenders or Fender clones, more into old Warwicks, Status basses or nice tube amps.
  18. Lowered price: £1750.
  19. Hello... got this as a partial exchange but I really don't need it. Must be a cracking cab, Mesa quality. Neo woofers and tweeter. Still has handtags, original cover, detachable wheels. Shipping won't be cheap since it's not smallest/lightest but send me your ZIP code if interested and I'll find out. Pics to come (tomorrow morning). It's £300 less than a new one. £550 SHIPPED by UPS! 20. Thank you! It's a nice piece for sure.
  21. I guess the preamp is newer, no black epoxy dipped.
  22. Still available
  23. Sorry mate! I never tried them, to be honest. They were on a bass I've sold (put the original back on before the sale).
