1. Bump for price drop...keen to sell as the new bass arrives soon, happy to take a reasonable offer...
2. You're quite right...you didn't say it was me at all....I just thought I'd make the point.... I hate threads like this too as folks (including me) make an awful of assumptions and could be gold medal winners if jumping to conclusions was an olympic sport... One thing that really did make me suspicious on this one is that Mr Norris flatly refuses to give his home address, stating instead that it's best to use his work address. He has my home address, my phone number, my email address and has splattered my name right across Basschat....I'm half expecting my address and phone number to be made public soon... The guy won't send back the goods, he wants me to give him the money first....I won't do that, I want the goods to be returned first...stale mate... I've bought and sold loads of stuff on here, some very recently and all has been smooth and successful.....Mr Norris seems to be an exception....
3. ...I didn't sell anyone a Jazz bass last year...
4. Perfectly happy to refund the money once I've received the amps. Given Oldman's approach, I'd like to check the gear first for any 'modifications' he may have made before I send back any money. Now you see the problem. As far as I'm concerned, I've sold Mr Norris two perfectly good amps for £200 less then he said he would pay, i.e. not received the Washburn part-ex. If you were buying something from a shop you send the money then they send the goods. If you want to return the goods they don't send you the money first and then you return the goods....they would give you a short answer if you took that approach, basically saying you're out of your mind...
5.
Now Geester's chipped in, it's a good time to draw a line under this one I reckon.
Hang on....I'm light one Washburn Acoustic bass....I'd like to see what people say now I've told the truth....
6. OK, let me set the record straight - These are UK spec amps, I have used them myself and they work perfectly. I have given Oldman (AKA Brian Norris of Aberdeen) my 100% assurance this is the case but he quite obviously does not believe me. He simply refuses to plug them in. Next, here is an extract from an email to me from Mr Norris - We could, if your unhappy to refund, keep the money, leave the deal as it is but no Washburn, I can get a 120V UPS Step Down Transformer and protect the amp like that. It appears Mr Norris has not admitted to sending this to me in any of his postings to date, how strange. The irony is that if Mr Norris uses a step down transformer the amps will not work. But given the potential embarassment he will probably never admit this. Particularly as it will then mean he then owes me a Washburn Acoustic bass. Can someone near Aberdeen please go along, plug the amps in and play a bass through them. It's as simple as that.
7. Sorry for the slight delay.....it's great on it's own, with 300-400 watts at 8 ohms it will hold it's own quite easily at small to mid-size gigs. Having the 'vertical' speaker arrangement certainly helps project the sound, I've used it on it's own for rehearsals with a loud drummer, guitar, keyboards, horns and backing singers and it's been absolutely fine. Hope that helps....
8. It's a brilliant pedal, I've just got no need for it with the band I'm in at the moment. With the software from the Markbass site it's really easy to configure and you can get some brilliant funky synth sounds. Given I've used it very rarely, and even then it's been in the house, it's in superb condition, it'll even be posted in it's original box. Asking £165 posted. Can post pix if needs be, drop me a PM if you're interested.
9. ....also, the potential scammer will want to trade something plus cash. They don't pay you the full amount to receive the goods, then they say they'll send the trade stuff after they've received your amp... ...clever...ish...
10. I was told about a scam recently where an individual buys a US unit for little money then returns to the UK. On arriving home then buys a secondhand unit of exactly the same spec but of UK origin, then complains to the UK seller it's not UK voltage, whereupon they return the unit they purchased abroad. They effectively get a US/UK swap for free, this was told to me by a couple of guys who work in music stores where both have had someone attempt this recently. Beware people who - A - Travel alot... B - Never give their home address, prefer to give an 'office' address C - Get back in contact with you immediately upon receiving the unit and say they are not prepared to plug it in... Anyone else heard of this?
11. SOLD....SOLD....SOLD....... Bought this to try with my SWR Headlite which has now been sold. It's a fantastic cab, the low end response is outstanding and it's very light indeed for a 4x10. This one is a special order 4 ohm cab, the standard cab is 8 ohm which is not great for the Headlite as it needs 4 ohm to get max power. Pricewise I'm looking for £450, they sell new for about £750 so it's a bit of a bargain really particularly considering it's a special order. I'm based near Huntingdon in Cambs but would be happy to meet up halfway for delivery if needed. Cheers Mike G.
12. Selling my TC Electronics cabs as they are getting very little use at the moment, details are - TC RS212 - Old style finish, complete with TC branded cover....SOLD TC RS210 - New style finish, complete with TC branded cover....SOLD TC RS112 - New style finish, they don't make a cover...SOLD They are in excellent condition, only really used at rehearsals. I can post pix if needed but the kids seem to have hidden my camera. I'm based near Huntingdon in Cambs but would be happy to meet up halfway if needed. Happy to be flexible on price dependent on delivery arrangements. Cheers Mike G.
13. Bump for price drop.....need to sell very soon so don't be shy about making an offer....if they don't sell by the weekend I'll drop in to The Gallery to part ex them....
14. Up for sale are my SWR Headlite and Amplite, bought them to try out as a lightweight rig along with an SWR Golight 4x10. Reason for the sale is that I prefer my TC Staccato head and TC 4x10 cabs, nothing wrong with the SWR stuff at all just not my bag I guess. As mentioned, they are brand new (only used at rehearsal) still in the box. I can put some pix up if required but my camera is crap, I'm based near Cambridge if anyone wants to drop in to have a try. Price wise I'm looking for £650 ono delivered for the pair, I hesitate to split them but will do if needs be. Could be open to trades (basses or amps) but would like a bit of cash in my direction as my 6 string Skjold is nearing completion. Drop me a PM if you're interested, I am open to offers so don't be shy. Cheers Mike G.
15. Dynaverb now sold.....many thanks to Eskimobassist...
16. Selling my EBS Multidrive pedal, in 'as new' condition and I even have the original box. It's not the true bypass version but has only been used in my home studio so not abused in any way. Not too sure about pricing but let's say £70 including postage, however don't be afraid to make an offer as it has to go (too many pedals etc...). I'm based near Cambridge if you want to pick it up. Paypal payment (gift) is fine, I can post pix but I'm guessing most folks know what it looks like. Thanks for looking Mike G.
17. I'm in Huntingdon, Cambs, about 4 miles from where the bass bash is this Sunday which is really handy....
18. Hi, Looking to sell my RH450, as mentioned above, it's only been used as a back-up and for practicing in the headphones at home. It's about 10 months old, I've still got the original box/packaging and the manual. I use the Staccato '51 as my primary amp which has been ultra-reliable so the RH450 is a luxury I don't really need. I can throw in a case in with it if the offer is a good one. Price is £525 ono including postage if you want me to send it via a courier (please don't be afraid to make an offer.....I am prone to being reasonable) As for trades, a classic RH450 plus cash would be fine or Markbass heads, Eden Heads or a bass plus cash...otherwise anything else that may be interesting. I'm willing to travel to deliver/meet up as I'm out and about a fair amount. I'll be at the bash on Sunday 9th Jan, let me know if you want me to bring it over. I'll get some pix up soon......it is in mint condition though... Cheers Mike G.
