  1. Agreed, this price is mad. I've already got an OW stacked knob jazz otherwise I'd be all over this. Someone is gonna have a great day with this.
  2. This is one of my dream shortscales. If I had the money at the moment I'd snap this right up. 32 inch scale 5 string, exactly what I could do with for some longer gigs I'm starting to do. GLWTS.
  3. Love it. If I wasnt waiting on something else Id be all over this. Weirdly big selling point is the lack of D at the 12th fret. I hate that haha. Good luck with the sale!
  4. A few transfers and a bit of pen! The pen ran a bit when he got sweaty but it was a belter of a first gig. Shifted 100 tickets with bare minimum promotion really. It was definitely a pleasant surprise! We'll be investing a lot into advertising campaigns for next year now we have the first gig under our belt. We werent sure it was going to work!
  5. Beautiful Wal! Im quite close to the front of the waiting list to finally place an order (I think) and Id been dead set on a 5 string mk3. Then a 4 string mk1. The more I see Mk2 5 strings though the more I start to want that now instead....
  6. My tribute band has it's debut gig tonight. I'm just about to set off for a last minute rehearsal/soundcheck at the venue our manager owns. It's an unusual one, we're a tribute act to Post Malone called 'Almost Malone'. Not something I ever thought I'd get involved in but, judging by ticket sales, we reckon we may have discovered a niche. Just hope the stormy weather doesn't put people off! Will let ya know how it goes later. It's the first time for all of us using iems to a click track live. My part is easy, the bass is ridiculously simple. Just gotta hope our Post Malone can remember the lyrics to 21 rap songs! Haha
  7. Bloody beautiful. I love the flame maple that Ernie ball use on their BFR instruments. I'd love a BFR one day but I'm saving pennies for a Wal at the moment. That is one hell of a bongo.
  8. I really really wanted this when it was listed at bass gallery. Always said if I ever own a short scale it'll be a Wilcock. This won't last long here.
  9. Bit late to it but my original rock band played our end of year headline show over the weekend. Some drunken football hooligan dickheads came for some reason and threw a pint which literally landed in the digital sound desk during the changeover. We sold about 100 tickets too, massive shame. Still sounded good out front but the faders started moving by themselves and the sound engineers had to constantly correct for an hour long set. I don't use amps on stage so when the faders lowered bass through the PA until the soundguys corrected it, it was noticed but fortunately only by muso friends. Football hooligan dickheads also chanted constantly, including whilst we tried to talk on stage. It was honestly a flipping nightmare and it should have been awesome. We still had a good time and people loved it but we still came away with a really sour taste.
  10. What opportunities are there to play in church in the UK? Id love to do that but always thought it was an american thing! I'll have to see if there's anything in sheffield. Are there facebook groups or anything for stuff like this?

  12. I've never shipped abroad before but if the buyer sorts the courier out I'm happy to go and get suitable packaging to ensure its safe. I sold a Zon a couple years ago in the UK and the buyer sourced a courier and all seemed ok.
  13. We've literally just had the bathroom done too, blummin nightmare. Sorry I forgot to add that. String spacing is 18mm at the bridge. Ive just measured the nut and its 52mm long. Ill add this in the post.
  14. A very reluctant sale as my roof is leaking and it's not going to be cheap. I'll be buying another ACG when money permits and would probably offer to buy this back at a later date if possible. This is my ACG Über Recurve in excellent, near new condition. I look after my equipment very well. For those that don't know, this is the top of the line model with the duel filter preamp and proprietary multicoil pickups. I also had the low battery indicator installed which is an absolute lifesaver. The top is buckeye burl with blue resin. The fretboard is acrylic impregnated maple. Here is the link to the bass on the ACG website for all the info you might want: https://acguitars.co.uk/project/0443uuberrecurve6-33/ It has the absolute best low B string I've ever seen on a 34" scale. Annoyingly, better than my Fodera elite. Weight is approx 4.6kg. Fretboard radius is either 16 or 18, I forget which, its near flat basically but not quite. Fret dots and side markers are luminlay - comes with the torch to charge them if required. 18mm string spacing. Nut is 52mm. Asking £2000 or nearest offer. It cost me £4000 so I think half the price for a basically new top end bass is sensible. Will include hiscox case and, if you're nice, ACG's Black Leather bass strap which is about £80 to buy. LOCATION: I live in sheffield but work in Oxford. I'll be in sheffield until sunday and then in Oxford until next wednesday, rinse and repeat. So I would prefer to deliver if possible but can ship if necessary. Any questions please ask!
  15. This is the one from Bass bros a year ago or so? Don't see many of these and I remember lusting after one Will had in!
  16. Just an FYI I considered trading in my 2013 Fender P standard not long ago and Bass Direct offered to buy it off me for £800. I saw the light and kept it though!
  17. Let me know if you ever plan to sell the six string please!
  18. Was this the one for sale at Bass bros recently? I was scrambling to sell stuff to buy it as this is a birth year bass I wanted! Pm'd. Very keen for this.
  19. Hiya mate, I used the Aguilar Octamizer and got a great sound but ended up trading it back into Bass Direct as I had/have no use for it. I had it on order for months when I was in a job that required a lot of travel and time at sea then within weeks of recieving it changed my job role and so never used it! Crackin' bit of kit though.
  20. I do not understand how this is still for sale...
  21. Good lord this is annoyingly tempting... I hope someone else buys this soon. Quick correction, spec sheet says 9.5 radius!
