  1. Rotherham Real Ale and Music Festival at Magna yesterday. One I've always wanted to do. Sound engineer was fantastic, my brother was in the audience and said the sound out-front was spot on. I assumed it would be as the woman doing sound asked me to play multiple times during the changeover/line-check. She actually cared about bass sounding good out front which is great!
  2. Man I keep getting tempted to sell off a bass to fund this. I want it so bad.
  3. I've got a 1960 CS Jazz, OW, tort guard and rosewood board. Best jazz going. I went to guitarguitar in Birmingham a year or so ago with the intention of getting either a pro 2 or Ultra. Tried the CS and the sound was leagues above the basses I'd originally gone to try. Ended up then trying a few CS jazz basses with a sunburst in mind but the OW 1960 one was the bees knees in both sound and feel. Lightly relic'd. Again, something I never thought Id buy. I even considered buying it and having it refinished but I've left it as is. I was pleasantly surprised.
  4. Reduced to 160 to sell. If it doesnt sell at £160 I'll be keeping it. Cheers all.
  5. Weekend bump. If it doesn't sell in the next week or so I'm going to withdraw as Im starting to have second thoughts.
  6. Used Darkglass Hyperluminal Compressor, bought from Bass Direct a couple years ago. Has had minimal use and isnt far from new in all honesty. I'm only moving it on as I use a digital setup for both guitar and bass so figured someone else would get better use out of it! Postage at buyers expense, will ship in unoriginal box. I live in Sheffield and occasionally work in Swindon so can always arrange for collection if you fancy. Would prefer to post if poss though. Cheers.
  7. Im playing there next weekend! Glad you had a good time. It'll be my first time there and I've heard great things.
  8. Two years of filming gigs on my Go Pro and last night was the first time drunk punters finally grabbed it. All ended well fortunately! Good gig all around. Bonus points to one of the photographers who actually set my Go Pro up again in a less risky position to catch the rest of our set. Go Pro moved_2.mp4
  9. Agreed, this price is mad. I've already got an OW stacked knob jazz otherwise I'd be all over this. Someone is gonna have a great day with this.
  10. This is one of my dream shortscales. If I had the money at the moment I'd snap this right up. 32 inch scale 5 string, exactly what I could do with for some longer gigs I'm starting to do. GLWTS.
  11. Love it. If I wasnt waiting on something else Id be all over this. Weirdly big selling point is the lack of D at the 12th fret. I hate that haha. Good luck with the sale!
  12. A few transfers and a bit of pen! The pen ran a bit when he got sweaty but it was a belter of a first gig. Shifted 100 tickets with bare minimum promotion really. It was definitely a pleasant surprise! We'll be investing a lot into advertising campaigns for next year now we have the first gig under our belt. We werent sure it was going to work!
  13. Beautiful Wal! Im quite close to the front of the waiting list to finally place an order (I think) and Id been dead set on a 5 string mk3. Then a 4 string mk1. The more I see Mk2 5 strings though the more I start to want that now instead....
  14. My tribute band has it's debut gig tonight. I'm just about to set off for a last minute rehearsal/soundcheck at the venue our manager owns. It's an unusual one, we're a tribute act to Post Malone called 'Almost Malone'. Not something I ever thought I'd get involved in but, judging by ticket sales, we reckon we may have discovered a niche. Just hope the stormy weather doesn't put people off! Will let ya know how it goes later. It's the first time for all of us using iems to a click track live. My part is easy, the bass is ridiculously simple. Just gotta hope our Post Malone can remember the lyrics to 21 rap songs! Haha
  15. Bloody beautiful. I love the flame maple that Ernie ball use on their BFR instruments. I'd love a BFR one day but I'm saving pennies for a Wal at the moment. That is one hell of a bongo.
  16. I really really wanted this when it was listed at bass gallery. Always said if I ever own a short scale it'll be a Wilcock. This won't last long here.
  17. Bit late to it but my original rock band played our end of year headline show over the weekend. Some drunken football hooligan dickheads came for some reason and threw a pint which literally landed in the digital sound desk during the changeover. We sold about 100 tickets too, massive shame. Still sounded good out front but the faders started moving by themselves and the sound engineers had to constantly correct for an hour long set. I don't use amps on stage so when the faders lowered bass through the PA until the soundguys corrected it, it was noticed but fortunately only by muso friends. Football hooligan dickheads also chanted constantly, including whilst we tried to talk on stage. It was honestly a flipping nightmare and it should have been awesome. We still had a good time and people loved it but we still came away with a really sour taste.
  18. What opportunities are there to play in church in the UK? Id love to do that but always thought it was an american thing! I'll have to see if there's anything in sheffield. Are there facebook groups or anything for stuff like this?
