  1. I'm honestly thinking that this might be my 50th birthday present to myself in the spring!
  2. Reminds me of the Yorkshire Divers postal service back when I was tech diver! I got many deliveries and sent many goods that way and also did a few runs myself! Scapa is vibe though eh!
  3. I would bite your arm off for this if I wasn't saving up for a 310CRA! That tolex looks amazing
  4. I appreciate your post. My issue was you calling something marketing bollocks without substantiating your statement, which IMO was very clearly incorrect and you have now addressed. Thank you. The GS is modeled after the B15 but it's obviously not an exact replica, moveover it's Nathan's take on that amp and it's a pedal Nathan designed to be a clean preamp and to utilise the 6SL7 tube. Before the release of this pedal ,Nathan sold a Slampegg Bee Pre. pedal, (now discontinued) that utilised a 12AX7, had a master Vol and Gain and would overdrive quite happily. Link below. All the feedback I've seen is that the GS is a major tonal upgrade and you can stick a boost of some description in front of it and the 6SL7 will break up very nicely (but that tone is not inherent in the pedal). Slampegg Bee Pre Peace 🕊️
  5. What bass do you think will drive this pedal to be not clean then? Nathan states that it needs a pedal to overdrive this, what are your reasons for doubting this? I'm curious what your direct experience with this pedal is?
  6. "It will not be able to break up by itself. Granted running another pedal into it and pushing the front end will still allow the 6SL7 to break up, but by itself it will just be clean" Curious where you think the marketing bollocks "guarantee" was given?
  7. Situation resolved. My credit card company got me the full refund for everything, including the Mooers without having to send them back! note to self: NEVER BUY FROM BAX AGAIN
  8. I was watching one 🙂 Nice one! I'm more after for it's tone sweetening properties over compression, but would be good to hear some more real world bass samples.
  9. Let us know how it works out! I've heard nothing but good about this device. The LA1A is on my wish list (Would love a Doc Lloyd DLA2A but that is firmly out of my price range!
  10. I wish I Could say it was cheap! The bass was the cheapest I could find online inc delivery and decent returns policy, but it was only abround £30 cheaper than Gear4music. They did also have the best price on the mooer POS (It's PO 5 but P.o.s is the perfect name for it!) especially when combining postage. Unfortuately these days I live out in the sticks and access to decent music shops is gonna be a long drive. Do I do miss being a 35 minute drive from Andertons, who I have always had good experinces with even if they are a little more expensive.
  11. To be fair the 4 mooer pedals that me and and my son have have been faultless
  12. When they are not answering calls or emails is it really rash? How long would allow a company to have £1.8k it your hard earned. I did take pictures and videos when it arrived. My comment was why are they asking me for it now after 6/7 weeks when they know it's already been sent back. It just feels like delaying tactics from them. Do you have any other feedback as to what you perceive I'm doing wrong?
  13. I did buy with a credit card! Going to ring them now!
  14. If I was ever to buy a Fender that came with a case, I'd ask for a discount and for them to keep the case!
  15. So I ordered a brand new Fender USA Vintage P bass a long with some strings, earplugs and a cheapo wireless system in November. When the box arrived, oneside of the box was open. On inspection the earplugs and strings were missing. The Fender hard case lid was misaligned and one of the clasps wouldn't open with some giggling. It looks like the box had fallen over and taken quite an impact. Whislt the bass looked fine, I wasn't prepared to keep hold of it knowing that it must have had quire an impact and p[otentially have an issue down the line. Spoke to an agent (it took over 30 mins to speak to someone) who said they would initate an investigation and raise the refund. I had to chase them up to get the return forms (wasn't possible on their website). So the bass went back and the tracking shows they have recived. I was away over Xmas and new so gave them till i came back. No refunds, no contact, nothing, nada, zip. I've spoken to them on the phone 3 times since I retuned and nothing is moving forward, infact it's moving backwards, yesterday I was asked to send photos of the box the bass came in (i told the agent to go to the warehouse and take the photo himself since he was closer to it) and how did he think I had returned it! To run salt into the wound, the wireless crapped out yesterday (Mooer Air POS) and won't charge (that's not Bax fault) but i have no confidence that I'm going to get a refund. To sumarise, 4 items ordered, 2 didn't arrive and 1 was damaged. How long should I wait before I submit a small claims case? I wish I had done some research on Bax before ordering, having now looked into them there is no way i would buy even a pletrum from them, their online reviews are terrble and evey social media post they make the comments are full of people letting the world know to avoid them. As an aside, I was really majorly disapointed in the vintage hard case that Fender supplied, it was absolute rubbish and the bass could move around inside when it was closed! Aside from legal action what else should i be doing here?
  16. Here's Eric Arko's review of the pedal Grand Slampegg
  17. That's a very nice looking board you've got there! From the setting on the stomp, it looks like you're running 3 compressors?
  18. Definitely, I'll take a look at the Sushi Society thread on Talkbass as I'm sure there are some more videos about. All the feedback I've read has been very positive so far, apart from the defective tube mentioned above which Nathan has resolved.
  19. Nathan has a decent video on his site, the pedal will break up if you use a boost pedal in front of it to push that 6SL7 tube. Grand Slampegg
  20. Let us know how you get on with it, it's top of my 2025 wish list currently.
  21. The Venus Z is $350 bucks and has similar features, so I'm guessing in that ball park somewhere.
  22. Looks like the wait is nearly over, excepting these to be on sale end of this month! Gorgeous looking pedal and is the top of my wish list (if anyone is feeling generous🤣). I have no affiliation, altough I'm a big fan of Nathan's pedals. Some blurb from taken the Sushi Box FX Secret Society so save you all trawling through 1200 pots! Slampegg Bee Pre (current): based on the Ampeg B-15N preamp with a 12AX7 tube. Simple 1/4" input and 1/4" output with a footswitch to bypass. I left the circuit as close to the original as possible, and with a 12AX7 or 12AT7 installed it can get a decent amount of overdrive. Grand Slampegg: Also based on the Ampeg B-15N preamp but this time with a 6SL7 tube. I have modified the circuit on this one to stay clean no matter what, but it allows you get the B-15N clean tone LOUD which seems to be what most B-15 players want. I have added a D.I. XLR output so this can be your rig-in-a-box, kept the two-band EQ and also added a fixed frequency HPF like you see in Neptunium and Finally v2. Grand Slampegg has the 1/4" dry pass switch so you can run the preamp out the XLR and send your dry signal through the 1/4" to an amplifier, like Finally. But in this revision I've also managed to squeeze in an XLR source switch like I have in Venus Z. So you can choose whether you want preamp output from the XLR or if you just want it to act as a passive D.I. box. This would allow you to send the preamp signal through the 1/4" output to a power amp and a clean D.I. signal to FOH for example. 'it will not be able to break up by itself. Granted running another pedal into it and pushing the front end will still allow the 6SL7 to break up, but by itself it will just be clean. Grand Slampegg: - 6SL7 tube - 100% clean, doesn't have a gain control - XLR output and 1/4" output - fixed frequency switchable HPF (yup, I throw it in pedals willy-nilly now)
  23. @Dood No problem at all! Funnily enough i hadn't actually seen your review when i bought the bass. I went to bass direct with a basses to play list, there was also another Super P that Mark had in stock (no J pick up) and my view was not matter how good that bass is wasn't going to but a bass in that colour! I'm generally much more traditional. It was totally un-put-downable. There around 7 basses on my list that day and picked this up immediately i finished auditioning a different bass. If you're ever in my neck of the woods and you fancy playing her gimme a shout! No bergs in my house hold but it slams through my Peg PF50.
  24. I love this thread! I bought a Super PJ a few years back and it's an amazing instrument, Sheldon's basses are next level. If you wanted to know how is sounds....
